Part 1

Welcome to the spookys! Again this is highly inspired by the game Phasmophobia and TangoTek's twitch streams where he played the game :D

"Everything ok in there?" A voice rang, the sound echoing from the small earpiece in Bdubs ear. Bdubs stared into the dark entry hall that sat before him, strangely not creeped out by its intimidating look.

"All good so far." He responded, clicking on his medium-sized bright beam flashlight. A line of light stretched down the hall, illuminating the area around it. Bdubs heard footsteps come up behind him but was not alarmed knowing it was just Tango. The pointy-eared blond came up beside him with a smile, a small device in his hands that was blinking rhythmically.

"It's all normal so far," Tango said, holding the device up for both him and Bdubs to see. "EMF hasn't gotten anything yet." The light was flashing a soft green, displaying that everything was indeed ok, so far.

"Right Impulse we are headed in!" Bdubs exclaimed, his grip on the flashlight tightened. He could hear Impulse laugh a little through the earpiece.

"Once you've found the room, set up the tripod ok?" Impulse instructed. "And don't break it! It cost all the money from our last job to buy it."

"Got it, Got it!" Tango smiled, moving the tripod stand under his arm so that he could close the door. Bdubs felt his heart drop as he heard the front door click shut. No turning back now. The short man mustered up the courage he had to begin making his way through the house. It seemed normal, simple furniture, nice decor, though it wasn't the house design he was worried about.

"So, What was the name of this lady again?" Bdubs heard Tango ask from across the room. He pointed his flashlight towards him, finding the taller male walking through the kitchen. Bdubs sat and pondered for a moment, truly not remembering himself.

"Don't know, might have been Lindsey Height? All I remember was that she died from being electrocuted."

"Her name is Lisa White." Impulse answered, Bdubs almost forgetting he could still hear them.

"That's What it was!" Tango realized, "Right on the tip of my tongue." Bdubs laughed as turned open one of the doors closest to him. It looked like some sort of laundry room, nothing. He shut it and continued looking around, making his way down a hallway while Tango's footsteps could be heard stepping up the creaky stairs.

"Also don't forget to sprinkle some salt on the ground in the doorway. We don't want to get attacked like last time and not have any photo evidence after. Tango." Impulse said, from the other part of the line Bdubs could hear Tango gasp.

"I forgot one time! Give me a break man!" Tango said, sounding a bit hurt. Bdubs smiled, allowing his friends bickering to distract him. He grabbed a smaller blue light out of the pocket of his backpack and began slowly running it over every surface he could think of. He stepped into a small hall, making his way around to check for anything in or outside of the rooms. He stopped in front of one of the doors, feeling his chest bubble in excitement.

"Yo! I found some fingerprints!" He exclaimed, pointing the light at the two ominous fingerprints on one of the door handles.

"Nice!" Impulse said. "Take a picture for evidence."

"Right-" Bdubs smiled, quickly rummaging around for his small polaroid camera. After taking a picture of it and placing the photo into his jacket pocket all he had to do now was check the room. He put his hand on the knob, then with a quick breath pushed it open. Before him was a dark dull bedroom, with a bed, dressers, and a desk. The thing that caught his eye however, was the closet that sat shut on the farthest wall of the room. The longer Bdubs looked at it, it was like his urge to open it grew. He felt himself walk closer to it, feeling the hairs on his back stand. It felt like there was something in there. In seconds Bdubs hand was floating over the knob. He felt himself shake as his fingers wrapped around the metal handle. 3...2...1. Bdubs pulled open the door violently, bracing himself for something to jump out at him.

"Bdubs, come here!" Tango's voice carried across the house, making Bdubs jump. He turned to look up at the ceiling then back at the closet. He felt all his stress release. It was nothing. 'Stupid over paranoid brain-' He thought as he hurried back out into the living room and down the entry hall towards the stairs. There at the end of the second-floor hallway was Tango, his flashlight pointing ominously into the room adjacent to him, the light illuminating his face. In his other hand was the Emf reader, the device was blinking loudly. "I think I found it," Tango said as Bdubs walked over to him. The shorter man looked into the room. It was a bathroom.

"You sure?" Bdubs asked, directing his own flashlight into the room. He watched Tango step into the room. The moment he did, the EMF reader in his hand started beeping softly and flickered 3 of the 5 lights on it.

"Was that a level 3?" Impulse asked as both Tango and Bdubs looked at each other.

"Yup! Tango get the tripod set up in there." Bdubs said, swinging his backpack off his shoulders.

"Quickly so I can see!" Impulse said, his voice cracking a little.

"I'm going!" Tango laughed, setting up the stand and fancy camera in the corner. The camera buzzed to life, from where it stood Bdubs was sure it could see the entire bathroom. Bdubs reached into his backpack, pulling out a large classic salt container. He twisted the lid to the spoon opening and dumped as much salt as he could into the doorway, enough to show anything stepping in it.

"Ok, I can see everyone." Impulse confirmed, Bdubs could hear him laugh as Tango waved at the small camera.

"Salt's done and ready to go!" Bdubs said, spinning to face Tango and the camera."It's ghost-catching time boys!" Tango leaned against the sink counter with a groan.

"Now we just wait." He said. Bdubs nodded in agreement after a second reached back into his bag, pulling out a small journal. He set it on the counter next to Tango and flipped it open to a new page. "Or not?"

"Lisa White? If you can hear us, could you try writing in this book?" Bdubs asked, going silent for a moment after. Tango remained quiet as well, leaving the only sounds in the room coming from the whizzing rumble of the ac unit.

"Maybe she doesn't want to write?" Tango said. Right as Tango finished his sentence, the two heard the echoing crunch of salt. Bdubs felt his heart jump as he snapped his head towards the doorway. He stared down at the very large footprint in the pile of salt until the lights began to flicker uncontrollably. Bdubs turned to look at Tango who stared wide-eyed at him as the EMF reader began screaming like crazy. It was at level 5.

"Guys?! The activity levels just got super high!" Impulse screamed into the two's ears. "You guys need to get out of there!" Before Bdubs could even move towards the door the lights stopped, going back to their stale white glow. Bdubs looked at Tango with wide eyes.

"The book?!" Bdubs said aloud, spinning back towards the journal. There in bright red ink, well he hoped it was ink, were the words 'R u n.'

"Oh. Fun-" Tango commented, quickly going to pick up the tripod. "Okay time to go!" He said. The lights began to flicker again violently as the two rushed back downstairs. Bdubs could barely hear Impulse as the panicked man's voice was scratching in and out through the earpiece. Bdubs followed behind Tango as the two ran for the door. Tango struggled with the doorknob for a moment but managed to quickly fling the door open. They both ran out into the cold autumn air, relieved to still see the grey van still sitting in the street. Tango continued running forward to the van as Bdubs spun around to slam the door shut. As his eyes looked into the house, a figure sat at the end of the hall. Stupid Lisa.

"Oh Sh-" Bdubs, not wanting to deal with that ghost anymore, slammed the door as hard as he could and ran to the van. He stumbled up into the back opening of the vehicle where both Tango and Impulse were waiting.

"T-That was..freaky!" Tango said in between gasps as he tried to breathe normally again. "Did we get anything good?" He asked, handing the tripod out to Impulse. Impulse took the tripod from the blond's hands then went back over to the van's small computer setup. Bdubs watched the screen of the computer intensely as the screen lit up, showing the camera's view of the bathroom. The view was quickly obstructed by Tango, who had stepped in the way of the footage.

"Tango?! Ur butt is in the way!" Impulse laughed. Tango looked up with a shocked face, which then turned into hysterical laughter.

"The bathroom was small! I couldn't stand anywhere else!" Tango yelled as both Impulse and Bdubs began to laugh.

"It's ok Tango, you moved out of the way," Bdubs said, still chuckling a little. Tango in the video had indeed moved away, now showing the rest of the bathroom and Bdubs. What unfolded on the footage was just as it had happened in the house. Bdubs had taken out the book, both Tango and Bdubs turned their heads in fear towards the salt in the doorway, and the lights began to flicker violently as Tango turned around and grabbed the camera, promptly shutting it off.

"The ghost didn't even show up!" Tango complained. Impulse played back the footage again.

"Ya no ghost orbs or even any signs of an apparition." Impulse spun in his chair back to the two.

"We did all that. For nothing?!"

"Well did you grab the journal?" Tango asked. Bdubs blinked for a moment.

"No!? No, I didn't?!" He realized. "But I got a photo of the fingerprints!" Bdubs reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the small polaroid paper. Sure enough, there was proof of the fingerprints.

"So that ghost had to have been a Revenant? The high levels of emf, the fingerprints, and ghostwriting are all common Revenant behaviors."

"So Lindsey is a revenant?" Bdubs said, going to pull out his phone.

"LISA," Tango and Impulse both corrected in unison. Bdubs waved his hand towards them as he started typing down all their evidence and info into notes.

"Whatever." Bdubs quickly texted down all the information they had gotten. Just to double-check, Bdubs pulled up some past notes they had managed to gather about revenants. They aren't very quick except if they are haunting or chasing you. To get away from one, try to hide the best you can. Don't respond to Spirit boxes or show up as ghost orbs. Everything seemed to check out. Bdubs lifted the device in front of the two in triumph. "We got ourselves a Revenant boys!" Tango smiled at Bdubs enthusiasm. Impulse and Tango left from the back of the van and got back in in the vehicle's front seats, leaving Bdubs to poke his head in from the back.

"Job is done! And never going to that house again!" Bdubs said. Tango laughed as he started the van's engine. As Tango drove the van away from the haunted house, Bdubs smiled.

"Despite almost dying, I think that went pretty well!" Bdubs said, getting confused stares from his friends.

'We've done better, like a picture of the ghost would have been nice." Tango waved his hand for a moment before going to focus on the road again.

"I mean I saw it?" Bdubs confessed.

"When?!" Impulse spun around to face him.

"When Tango and I were running out of the house?"

"Why didn't you take a picture?!" Tango asked, sounding completely baffled.

"I was running?! Do you really expect me to just stop running to take a picture of a ghost?!"

"YES." The two shouted. Bdubs couldn't help but laugh, causing everyone to explode in laughter.

"But seriously Bdubs."

"Ok, I get it. Just take me home please." Bdubs groaned. "Y'all will get the evidence to the owner of the house right?"

"Ya, we got it." Impulse reassured him, opening up the shared file of information.

Bdubs sighed as he watched the van drive off back onto one of the major roads. Bdubs turned to walk up the street of his small apartment. He didn't have much of a choice on where to rent an apartment, but this small neighborhood was a 5-minute drive to his college and about a 15-minute walk. So it was the most convenient. His space was on the bottom floor, which he didn't mind except for the fact his neighbors upstairs were not the lightest walkers. He pulled his keys from his small chain, being careful not to hit the small clock that was attached to it. He opened the door and walked inside, shutting it behind him. His hands immediately went to the clock as he flopped onto the decently sized couch. Bdubs sat and stared at its shiny gold color and as it quietly ticked he was reminded of the person who had given it to him. He didn't want to think about that much so let the clock drop back into the grip of the chain and stood up. He slipped off his white short sleeve jacket, leaving it on the arm of the couch. Bdubs grumbled to himself as he walked into the tiny kitchen and grabbed a coffee cup. He knew drinking coffee now was a terrible idea but truly he didn't care. His love for coffee had no bounds(I now permanently headcanon Bdubs as a coffee drinker.) 'Coffee now, responsibilities later.' As he pushed the button on the coffee machine, Bdubs mind couldn't help but wander back to the ghost he had seen in that house. It sent shivers down his spine, but he quickly shoved all thoughts of the creepy figure away.

"Fricking Lisa."
