I didn't just kiss the Muse, I ate it
Is personified inspiration even vegan? (well, it better be)
Anyway, I've been drawing like crazy.
So far, I haven't given a description of her physical appearance (that will follow in chapter six, which is almost ready), so here's a little sneak-peak at how I picture Tyst from "What I Am" in my mind (well, it's neither perfect nor finished, but I guess it's close enough)
This is her making herself look distinctly female (I'm also working on a picture of her looking more androgynous/ male)
I'm totally acing this "drawing stuff using my laptop's touchpad"-thing.
(Lol, I wish.)
(You don't even want to know how much work that bit of drawing took. Started on the coloring for fun, but I haven't even finished the outlines or started drawing her actual clothes x') )
I also randomly did two covers for people in a "rate my cover"-thread
First one was "just" an improvement of the old one (to make it match the second cover of a series:
original:
My version:
(They liked it, so I hope they get the original cover artist's permission to use the changed version)
And the second one is missing the writing (I told them to add that themselves, if they liked the cover. It's free after all), but was done from scratch, using similar motifs and color-scheme as the previous one.
(Looks awful at this size, but is okay when scaled down to regular cover size)
The dude looked like this (see below) at first, but they asked for long hair, so I actually drew that stuff in by hand.
(I have a feeling my skills as a hairdresser aren't going to win me any prizes x) )
Dude before I re-did his hair:
I have no idea whatsoever why I devoted so much time to this x)
I'm not a proper cover-artist (as you can see), and I wasn't specifically asked for either of these, I just randomly did them for strangers.
Along with writing a detailed critique for their first cover, analyzing the layout and drawing in lines to show how to get it to look a little more dynamic, then doing some rough work repositioning the elements of their cover to show the effect, and then later doing a completely new cover also showing a naked dude and a wolf on a blue background, I devoted about 5 hours just to that one person alone.
... Why?
I kind of feel like I just met a stranger in the street, followed them home, painted their living room and then left without saying a word.
I swear, somewhere out there are 40 cats eagerly counting the years, waiting for my 30th birthday...
Oh, I also finally got around to narrating chapter 3, 4, 5 and even an incomplete version of chapter six of "What I Am".
I still need to edit them, which will take time, but the hardest part is done.
Did this for the yt-video, while I was at it:
