Chapter 02. Scars Don't Fade
A/n I'm so sorry if I make you cry while reading this chapter. I've been experiencing things that just make me feel... I don't know how to say it. I guess you'll find out after reading this.
Chapter 02. Scars Don't Fade
Y/n's POV
I sighed as I finished updating my story on Wattpad. The book was good enough.
I couldn't help but think about what Brady must be doing. I went to my messages and wrote:
Y/n L/n: What are you doing?
Brady Walker: Skydiving while eating chocolate chip cookies.
Y/n L/n: I'm bored!!!!!
Brady Walker: Don't abuse exclamation points.
Y/n L/n: -_- Do I look like I care.
Brady Walker: It depends, I'm not looking at you right now.
Y/n L/n: -_-
Brady Walker: ;)
Y/n L/n: O-O
Brady Walker: Gotta go, but I'll catch up with you later.
Y/n L/n: Okay then. Bye.
I sighed as I put my phone down.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
"I'm bored."
Brady's POV
I put the phone down and went to my drawer. I pulled it open and felt around the area until I found the great cold feeling of smooth leather. I took the item and injected it into my skin. The feeling of the cool blade digging into my flesh felt great, like everything was fantastic. I smiled slightly as blood started to pour.
Blood trickled down to my elbow, and fell onto the floor. I felt my eyes prickle with tears. Pain is great, I thought. It's perfect.
The door creaked quietly and two amber eyes emerged from the small crack. They widened.
Madeline slammed the door behind her and ran towards me. She snatched the knife from my hand and placed it on the counter. "We talked about this..." Her voice was almost a whisper.
"It's all his fault... It's all his fault..."
Madeline sighed. "Brady please... I agree, dad was a jerk, but-"
"He killed mom," I muttered. "He caused us so much pain. Mom loved the monster... She loved him... The murderer... He killed other children... He killed so many people..."
Madeline put her hands on my shoulders. "Don't be like him, Brady. Please. You're not him... You're my brother..." She sniffed as tears welled in her eyes.
I chuckled. "The guy has no idea how I felt... No idea at all... I'll kill him... For leaving us... You don't deserve this Madeline, you really don't..."
"Brady, stop!" Madeline screamed. "Promise me- promise me please- don't do it again please Brady... I don't want to lose you too, Aunt Marge is going through enough with taking care of us... Promise me Brady. Please." She dug her face into the crook of my neck, and I could hear her sobbing.
"I-I promise..." I sighed. "I swear I won't do it again..."
Madeline sighed and pulled away, wiping her eyes with her sweater sleeve. "Good. Now, put this on." She threw me a purple button down. "Scars don't fade, y'know."
"I know."
When I heard the door close, I took off my orange t-shirt and looked at myself in the mirror. I was always on the scrawny side, looking like a skinny wimp. I know, I'm practically a stickman. I pulled on the purple button down and gazed at my arms. I pulled the sleeves down a little so it reached my wrist. I couldn't risk anyone seeing my scars. Especially Y/n. I don't want my best friend to know what I do with myself.
*Time skip cause I'm to lazy to write anything else :P*
I stood by Y/n's door and knocked. I heard feet slapping tiled floors. Y/n opened the door and she smiled. "Hiya Brady, how you doing?"
"Good, I guess." I replied.
Y/n's POV
I let Brady in as he walked into my living room and sat on the couch. He smiled and pat the empty space next to him. "Wanna sit?"
I shrugged as I sat beside him and put on the television. Full house was on. I used to love that show when I was younger. But I never got to watch it that much because how I had Glee Club, Book Club, Dance Club (I don't know why they have this), e.t.c.
I rubbed my hands together. "Your birthday is in a couple months, right?"
Brady raised an eyebrow. "Yes."
"Good." I said as I stood up and ran to my bedroom. I pulled my drawer open and took out a small purple box. Inside, was a gift from my dad when he went to Texas. A small batman figurine. Brady's favourite super hero.
I ran back to the living room and sat next to him. "I have something for you."
Brady looked surprised. "What? Why?"
"'Cause you're my best friend dude, and I don't really enjoy the comics as much anyways. Besides, he's your favourite character." I shoved the box into his hands and he slowly opened it.
He gasped. "Y/n, you really shouldn't have given me this..."
"It's worth it. My dad got it for about ten bucks, so it's not really worth way too much."
"I can't take this from you," Brady said. He placed it carefully in my hands and then sighed.
"I'm not keeping this," I said. I shoved it back to him. Except a little bit harder than I meant to. "Oh my god!"
Brady was sprawled on the floor, with his sweater sleeve rolled up a bit. Instead of the same pale skin I see everyday, he was covered with scars. One looked like it was opened recently.
I jumped off of the couch and took a step forward. "B-Brady... W-what's wrong with your a-arm?"
Brady looked up at me. His eyes widened when he saw his arm and he pulled his sleeve down to his wrist. "Y/n... You saw nothing."
My eyebrows furrowed. "Oh, I saw something."
Brady looked me straight in the eyes. He looked uncomfortable. "Y/n... You're my friend right? Don't tell the others... They'll rip me apart if they find out. Please..." He looked at his arm. "I've tried to not be like this... But I'm a monster..." He looked back at me. "Please, Y/n. Understand."
I sighed. "I can't say no to that face. Fine, I forget what I saw. I won't tell the others. I promise."
Brady smiled slightly. "And?"
"And what?"
"Aren't you going to rant about how awesome I am?"
"Nope," I said popping the "P".
He pouted. "Darn."
I heard a soft dinging sound coming from my phone. I took it out of my pocket and saw that I got a text from Connie.
Connie Freeman: Me and the guys are having a karaoke night! Wanna come?
I smiled slightly. "Brady, Connie is having a karaoke night. Wanna come with me to the fabulous party?
Brady smirked. "The king of karaoke is coming tonight."
I giggled as I ran to the door and thrust it open. "Last one there is a rotten egg!"
Brady laughed as he ran after me, closing the door behind us.
A/n Ermagaud the ending is so cute! :D :D :D :D :D
I've been feeling pretty depressed lately, but I've got some fun and happiness still left in me, so don't worry. Plus, you will all come to karaoke night! I'm going to put in some of my favourite fnaf songs, and I'm pretty sure that y'all will enjoy them. The queen of karaoke is coming tonight!
