chapter thirty-seven, episode six
the sweet sweet chaos.

               YOU killed her.

you did a good job, bonnie.

it's your fault eden is dead!

you killed eden!

it's all your fault for Eden's death!

bonnie didn't know that she was crying on the couch, her head pressed against the pillow and her body shaking furiously until diego started whispering things to her and rubbing his hand against her cheek.

"hey, kid." he whispering when bonnie opened her eyes abruptly and alarmed quickly sitting up from the chair and her hand going to her eyes as an instant wiping them away.

she turned her head up to see that luther, vanya and klaus were looking at her worriedly along with penelope who was besides diego. "i killed her." bonnie whispering so that only penelope and diego heard.

"i ki-killed her." bonnie cried closing her eyes and dropping her head down shaking her head. diego looked over at penelope who stood up and glanced at the others.

"can you guys give us a minute? please." penelope asked the three adults who quickly stood up from their seats and went either downstairs or to another room to give them their privacy's.

"honey, who did you kill?" penelope asked sitting down besides bonnie on the couch. the red hair girl held back a sob bringing her hands back up to her face and hiding her entire face from the two adults.

diego and penelope gave each other a worried look and Penelope put a hand softly on Bonnie shoulder. the girl dropped herself to penelope who then wrapped her arms around Bonnie.

"ever since i moved in with you and i haven't used my powers i have been having flashbacks," Bonnie mumbled against Penelope's shirt, "flashbacks to when i lived with my parents. i know that i was an experiment because of the folder that peabody had in his attic but in the flashbacks stuff that happening during the training came into my mind. i guess they injected me to make me forget everything."

Diego and Penelope already knew this but hearing it again coming from the sobbings girl mouth they felt guilt run through their body.

"recently I have been having new flashbacks the ones right before i escaped. a girl who's name was eden, in all of my flashbacks her and i were very close like sister close but we weren't sisters she was there for training like me. she threw daggers like Diego," Bonnie forced a chuckle looking at Diego who smiled upside at Bonnie. "and then on my last training everything went wrong. the dagger jumped back to her when it hit my shield and then it got her, right between her chest."

"Bonnie—"

"it was all my fault. i couldnt control my own powers yet but i still killed my best friend." Bonnie whispering to them shaking her head and taking it off from Penelope's chest glancing down at her lap.

"No you didn't." Diego denied.

"you can't say that Diego. I've murdered people before i am capable of murder." Bonnie deadpanned at Diego who rolled his eyes and placed his hands on top of Bonnie's holding it inside of his.

"you're not a murder bonnie. all of those times was for protection nothing more." Bonnie tilted her head to the side and diego sighed deeply, "i don't know what those people did to you but i do know that it wasn't your fault for killing that girl. you are just a kid, not an experiment."

"yeah, mija, whatever happened to that girl was because you were being forced. those sons of bitches made you think that you did but you didn't, honey and i sure as hell know that if that girl was your best friend she wouldn't like to see you blaming yourself for something you didn't have control over of." penelope comforted her putting her own hands on top of Bonnie's and Diego's.

"if it isn't my fault, why does it feel like it is?" bonnie asked her bottom lip trembling, her eyes starting to whelm up with tears that were spilling quickly down her cheek.

"if we ever find those people ill kill them." Diego said seriously looking over at penelope who raised an eyebrow at him but he nodded his head. "I will kill them very slowly."

bonnie threw her arms around Diego's shoulders and dropped her head down to his shoulder. she wasn't crying anymore but she wanted the comfort of her adoptive dad. of her only real dad. Diego sighed and wrapped his own around bonnie rubbing his hand up and down her back.

"i love you, dad." bonnie whispered to him without thinking twice. Diego quickly pushed her eyes gently putting his hands on her shoulders and his mouth dropping. bonnie frowned her eyebrows thinking that she fucked up already.

Diego looked over at penelope who grinned at Diego who was still surprised and then looked back at bonnie. "you called me dad." bonnie nodded her head slowly wanting nothing more than to reverse time and never say it.

but that all changed when Diego stood up laughing out of pure joy and then picking up bonnie and twirling her around. "I'm a dad!"

"you don't mind me calling you that right?" bonnie asked him as he dropped her down to the floor and he scoffed offensively.

"i dont mind at all!" diego kissed the top of her head and then run over the railing looking down at vanya and luther who weren't really listening to them. "im a dad! guys, guys!"

"shut up!" sebastian shouted from inside of his room, his voice was raspy as he was still recovering from his deathly injury.

"im a- penny! im a dad!" diego ran back over to penelope who was giggling the entire time at the behavior of the older men who felt like his whole world was exploding. he sat down next to her and brought her in a passionate kiss causing Bonnie to gag loudly and put her hands over her eyes.

"im a lightheaded dad now." diego pulled away from Bonnie putting his hands on his head and groaning loudly.

even if Bonnie isn't mentally stable right now she knows that this people who are now her family are able to keep her mentality in order. that no matter how depressed she is, how drained she is bonnie knows that her real family always had her back.

always making her smile and laugh and hold the memories in a safe spot to always go back to whenever she needs to. right now being one of those moments that she will cherish forever.

but bonnie moore could never escape her past. no matter how hard she tries.

AFTER the recent positive events for the santiago-hargreeves newly formed family, the umbrella academy plus penelope and bonnie were back in the main room reading the invite that one of Reginald's guards gave luther and Diego.

"to my pursuers: i, reginald hargreeves, request the pleasure of your company for a light supper on the 20th of november 1963, at half past seven o'clock. 1624 magnolia street, dallas texas." penelope read out loud since luther wasn't reading it out loud for them. she hummed and gave it to bonnie who read over it again.

"Diego, this is a setup." luther said with his mouth full grabbing the invite from Bonnie who was handing it to him.

"maybe. but we should go anyway." diego said putting on his shirt and butting it up quickly but missing a few buttons. penelope stood up from the couch with an eye roll and helped him button up his shirt, correctly.

"says the guy who's already been stabbed once this week." luther scoffed.

"oh, don't worry, me and him are gonna have words. thanks, penny." diego mumbled to the women who smiled up at him patting chest and sitting back down on the couch turning her head to Bonnie who had a disgust look on her face.

"would you tell him that he's nuts?" luther asked penelope who he surprisingly wasn't giving her a hard time like how he did with Bonnie. probably because he's grown as a person. bonnie laughed in her mind at the thought of that.

"i think you guys should go. i mean isnt this part of the plan to save the world?" penelope asked looking between them all.

Luther dropped his spoon and looked at penelope, "penelope, you should be against this not supporting his idea!"

"come on." vanya chuckled, "how bad can he be?"

"okay, well let's see." luther trailed off humming softly and shrugging his shoulders, "he isolated you from the rest of the family. kept you hopped up on pills and he brainwashed you into thinking you had no powers."

"Jesus, this guy..."

"yeah." luther deadpanned raising his eyebrows at vanya.

"I mean, come on, i have to meet him." Diego smirked at luther and penelope giggled leaning back against the couch while Bonnie shook her head knowing that luther was loosing.

"You already know how this is gonna go. dad is gonna play all his little mind games on us, get into our heads, and he's gonna turn us all against each other. you watch." Luther pointed his finger at Diego before bringing his bowl and up and eating his food again.

"luther, we're not 12 anymore. all right? we're grown-ass men and women and child." Diego said looking at them all.

"hey." Diego breathed out crouching down to Luther's eye leven, "we can handle him. wanna know what's different this time?"

"what's that?"

"you got me. who's now an official dad of that girl right there," Diego said pointing to Bonnie who embarrassingly dropped her head down to Penelope's shoulder who giggled at the girl. "and we are going in there as a United front. no more "number one" "number two" bullshit. from now on, it's—"

"disfuncional family?" penelope asked putting her head on top of Bonnie's and grinning at Diego who rolled his eyes with a scoff.

"no. team zero."

"team zero?" asked luther.

"team zero." he repeated nodding his head and sticking out his fist towards vanya and luther and smiling over at Bonnie and Penelope, "all the way."

they all stared at him awkwardly and he dropped his fist down back to his lap and then faced Bonnie sticking his fist out towards Bonnie. the red hair girl picked up her head from Penelope's shoulder and leaned forward sticking her fist out and touching it with his.

"we're gonna need a new team name."

DIEGO jogged up to the elevator as it was about to close. "wait up," he muttered to his brother who was alone on the elevator. "she's missed you, asshole."

five frowned his eyebrows at Diego who looked forward and nodded his head at bonnie who was panting heavily leaning over and putting her hands on her knees as she tried catching her breath. "I hate running."

"bonnie." five breathed out his eyes widen as the love of his life stood right in front of him. bonnie stood up straight and a wide angelical and loving smile appeared on her face.

Diego covered his eyes knowing what was going to happen next.

bonnie speed walked over to him and right in between the elevator doors five met her, his lips quickly attaching onto hers. the kiss wasn't unlike the other kisses, this one was more desperate for each other more passionate. after all they've spent almost an entire day without each other.

longer than they would have wanted.

bonnie then disconnected their lips before her smile dropped and she smacked him on the arm pushing him inside of the elevator. "leave me again and you'll never hear the end of it." she deadpanned at five who's eyes widen but then received a kiss on the cheek from Bonnie.

"hold on." allison said next quickly running inside of the elevator followed by Klaus and vanya who was right behind her.

"hey, everyone." Klaus said drowsily going all the way o the back of the elevator between Allison and Diego.

five wrapped his arm around Bonnie who had a ghostly smile on her lips feeling nothing but joy as she felt his touch again. he brought her close to his chest and sighed deeply before scooting them over to the side when luther entered the elevator.

"excuse me. i hope you guys don't mind, I brought someone." luther muttered to them and Diego pushed past luther as penelope was now standing in front of the elevator, her eyes strictly on Diego.

Diego pulled her past luther who squished himself to the side letting penelope past through and be next to Diego.

"good. we're all here."

once again they were all together with a new person added to the group. sweet sweet chaos.
