chapter twenty-three, episode ten
the white violin

BONNIE and five ran inside of the theater and there wasn't anyone inside besides their family and a group of men shooting their guns at them. Bonnie turned her head up towards the stage and her eyes landed on vanya who was glowing while playing the violin intensely.

"five, Bonnie, get down!" luther shouted at them and the pair quickly got under and behind the row of chairs. Bonnie putting up her shield on her and five but the teenage boy still proceeded to put his body over Bonnie shielding her.

"five, bonnie I thought you guys bailed on us!" luther shouted ducking his head as a bullet flew above him.

"we had an errand to run."

"five what the hell did I say about bringing Bonnie into your shit?!" Diego shouted over at five sticking his head from between the seats to catch Bonnie and make sure she was in one piece. "stop it!"

"now is not the time!" Bonnie was the one who shouted back this time harshly.

"this is bad."

"you know these guys?" Diego asked five who nodded his head.

"yeah, I do."

"and?"

"well - we're screwed." five muttered shrugging his shoulders. one of the men in suit with red goggles busting through the door and the dad-daughter duo started to throw their knives at him, stabbing him down to the ground.

"guys," Klaus yelled entering the theater throw the nearest exit, "it's cha-cha! it's cha-cha, she-"

"Klaus! get down!" Klaus heard Luther's scream and he dropped down with a yell to the ground putting his arms over his head. five got off on top of Bonnie and whispered something in her ear and at first Bonnie was against it but there was no time for discussion.

once Bonnie dropped the shield for five to teleport out Bonnie put it back on herself and covered her head with her arms, putting them over her ears and closing her eyes tightly not knowing what was going on anyone. she kept on hearing shouts and yells from everything, gun shooting, people fighting with each other, vanyas violin and the sentence, "it's Ben."

Bonnie got up abruptly pushing herself away from the chairs and she glanced over at Diego who was fighting with cha-cha chocking her to death. a gasp escaped her lips and she ran over to him shouting his name as loud as she can so that it can go over the noises surrounding them.

Diego had a hand wrapped around tightly around her neck and his fist lifting up ready to kill her but the second his head turned around to lock eyes with Bonnie who had tears slipping down her eyes shaking her head and calling out his name, Diego's mind clicked.

his mind went back to what five said about honoring patch and being a good father figure to Bonnie. Diego let out a chocked sob and a, "I'm sorry." to bonnie before he dropped cha-cha to the ground and walked over to bonnie bringing her into his arms.

bonnie sank into his arms wrapping her arms around his torso and dropping her head onto his chest and she felt Diego shaking violently, his arms tighten more around her. bonnie rubbed his back before letting go wiping her eyes. "let's go save the world, da-Diego."

Diego nodded his head not noticing her slip up and the two headed over towards the rest of the family who was looking at them. "where were you guys?"

"honoring a memory." diego sighed leaning himself against the row of seats glancing at them all. Allison put her hand on Diego's shoulder sending him a comfort smile along as Bonnie. "so, how do you wanna end this thing?"

"we surround her." luther shouted through the violin music, "all right? we come at her from all angles."

"so it's a suicide mission." Klaus sighed dropping his head down before back up.

"yeah, but one of us could get through. it's the only chance we've got." five quickly said over to Klaus who nodded his head.

"one more thing," luther said to the circle before glancing over at bonnie, "Bonnie is only able to shield the ones close to her right?" with that question Bonnie nodded her head along with five and luther sighed nodding his head, "bonnie you pair up with five."

"what?!" everyone shouted along with Bonnie glaring over at luther who for once was being selfish but also surprised that he was taking decisions for bonnie.

"it's got to be five! trust me." luther sighed deeply grabbing gently Bonnie's wrist and pulling her over to five chest nodding at five who gave him a look but nodded back. "so, are we all in?"

"yeah."

luther looked up at allison who shook her head scared on everything that was going on.

"stage left," Luther said to Diego and he quickly ran away over to stage left.

"stage right." fives hand traveled down to Bonnie's and held it in his tightly running off to the right tripping on some of the chairs on their way there. the duo ducked down to the ground behind the chair and kept on looking at vanya who was only glowing even more and the music of her violin was only getting louder and louder by the second.

bonnie thought that if the world wasn't ending at this exactly moment she would find this music the most beautiful thing she has ever heard because it is. the way vanya was playing was magical but deadly.

when luther gave the signal five was quick to grab Bonnie's hand but she wasn't there besides him anymore. five worriedly looked behind him and his eyes landed on Bonnie who was running over towards Allison. five groaned shaking his head and teleporting over towards vanya just like how they planned.

bonnie shielded both her and allison and the women let out a shaky breath grabbing a hold of Bonnie's arm before running over to the stage where the three brothers were attacking vanya but vanya was quick to get a hold of them, using her powers to hold them up in the air practically sucking their souls away from them.

Allison and bonnie went through the side curtains and Allison spotted a gun. the two of them ran quietly over to vanya and stand behind her. Allison pushed bonnie behind her body and even though Bonnie still had her shield proctoring the two of them allison didn't want to risk it.

the women, with shaky hands, lifted up the gun to behind vanyas head pressing in her head, making vanya acknowledge the fact that she was being held a gun point. Allison moved the gun to the side of her face pointing it at the ceiling and without a second thought she pulled the trigger sending the bullet to the air and shocking vanya to her core, snapping her out of her powers.

bonnie gasped dropping her powers watching as vanya dropped lifeless to the floor and the brothers dropped to the ground as well, all of them quickly running towards Allison, vanya and bonnie.

five grabbed Bonnie roughly from her shoulder and placed his hands on her face, "what the fuck is wrong with you?!"

"don't talk to me like that!" bonnie shouted back her eyebrows knitting together angrily at five who kissed her with pure anger. diego was about to launch himself over to five going to rip him away from Bonnie but Klaus grabbed his arm pulling him away with an eye roll knowing that there were more important things than killing five.

"is she alive?" luther asked allison putting a hand on her shoulder rubbing it softly and looking at her with nothing more than worry.

"yeah." Allison managed to whisper out.

"is she? yeah."

"oh, thank god." Klaus breathed out, his grip still on Diego who was glaring at five even though they weren't kissing anymore but they were still holding each other's hand.

"we did it, we saved the world." luther chuckled along with the rest of the family. five wrapped his arm around bonnie bringing her into his chest and kissing the top of her head smiling softly. it only lasted a few seconds since the next thing they knew a large piece of moon rock was going towards them and Klaus pointed it out.

"you see that big moon rock coming towards us?" bonnie moved her head away from fives chest glancing up at the moon that had exploded and the big moon rock was coming towards them at full speed. "so this is it, huh? so much for - saving the world."

"holy shit, that's so terrifying but so pretty?" bonnie whispered tilting her head to the side as her eyes stayed glued onto the moon and then she glanced back over at five who was pacing mumbling angrily underneath his breath.

"if only sir reginald could see us right now, huh? The Umbrella Academy. a total failure." diego mumbled chuckling angrily along with the rest of the family that were just thinking that everything they did was for nothing.

"at least we're together at the end." luther said looking at everyone even at bonnie, "as a family."

"this doesn't have to be the end." five said his train of thought now fully complete making everyone look over at him.

"what? what are you saying, five?"

"five we're going to die, let a just accept that." bonnie sighed but five shook his head roughly.

"I think I have a way outta here. but you gotta trust me on this." with the words trust and me in the same sentence coming out of fives mouth everyone immediately dropped down the idea shaking their head.

"yeah, I don't think so."

"no." the quartet looked back up at the moon already accepting their fate of death even though five hasn't.

"well, then, we might as well accept our fate-"

"I literally said that."

"okay, bonnie. but in less than a minute we're going to vaporized." five snapped wanting them all to listen to him again, just for one last time.

"what's your idea, then?" somehow someway, the umbrella academy always ended up doing what five hargreeves has planned even if his plans are the most unrealistic, more craziest thing to ever exist. what happened in the next moments were the most breathtaking thing that bonnie has ever seen.

five was planning on time traveling with them even though he has never tried it before. everyone holding onto each other, their eyes closing, the blue light of electricity shining above them as they waited for the electricity to have enough power to travel them through time.

there was a risk, a huge risk for them that they could end up exactly like five or even worse or whatever other risk that they are whenever people time travel. bonnie locked eyes with five not knowing if it was going to be her last time looking at him or even holding his hand.

but even during this time she had her full trust on the boy next to him. if only she could look in the future so that she could prepare herself for what was going to happen in her life - she would sure have loved that.

sadly, life doesn't work that way and whatever happens with bonnie moore is going to happen. whether anyone likes it or not.
