chapter twenty, episode nine
can't do this without you
FIRST thing first was to find where harlod and vanya were, and that's as too check other locations besides his house and his grandmas house since they wouldn't obviously be there, they wouldn't be in vanya apartment complex either.
but there was one last location in harlod's' file so that's where the quartet headed. when they got there, they didn't expect harlod to be dead in the middle of his dinning took with knifes and glass stabbed into him and his eye burst out.
"it's not exactly what I was expecting.
"the understatement of the year."
"so sign of vanya." Klaus pointed out as only him and Diego were talking while five and bonnie were simply staring at the dead body of the only other logical person who could solve the apocalypse. after a while of looking at him the girl glanced up at five who had an irritated look on his face.
"lets get out of here, before the cops come." diego said.
fives irritated face then turned into a curious one, taking out something from his pocket and muttering a, "in a minute." Klaus and diego stopped walking to look over at five who took off the eye patch of harlod showing the very disturbing inside of his eye.
"I think I'm going to puke." Bonnie gagged quickly putting a hand over her mouth and looking around for a place to vomit.
"come on, five, what are you-"
"ugh, wow." Klaus said in both disgust and in awe as the trio watched five stick in the eyeball that he has been carrying ever since the apocalypse inside of harlods right eye, and it fit.
"holy shit." whispered bonnie who was about to puke while looking at the dead body and the way that five didn't seem at ease.
"same eye color, same pupil size." five gasped and then looked up towards them, "guys this is it. they eye ive been carrying around for decades, it-its found its rightful home."
"damn it five!" bonnie gagged as five took out the eyeball and she quickly rushed over towards the plants that were nearby and puked it all out of her system. Diego rolled his eyes walking over to her and grabbing her hair putting it in a low pony tail with a hair tie that he had in his wrist, for bonnie.
"we got the guy we needed to kill to stop the apocalypse."
"yay! let's go." Klaus said quickly, ready to walk away when Diego grabbed him by the back and dragged him back towards them.
"guys, I'm good." bonnie informed lifting her hand up in the air thinking that she was done puking but she wasn't. you would think that for a girl who has murdered people she wouldn't vomit over someone putting a eye inside of a dead body.
"it can't be this easy." Diego muttered giving bonnie a disgust face as she stood back up with a drowsy smile and gave him a thumbs up. "go wash your face."
"okay!" bonnie went over to the kitchen and turned on the sink water lowering her face down completely to the silver sink and put water inside of her mouth, cleaning it, before spitting it out. she did that a few more times before going over to the cabinets and grabbing a piece of mint gum and putting it inside of her mouth.
she was heading back over towards the group when five grabbed her wrist and teleported them away without her knowing what was going on.
"don't you even think about it." five snapped at the red hair girl who wasn't going to do anything but over the past few events he is starting to rethink about bringing her with him since everytime she always tends to vomit.
"relax, five! im a-o - oh god." bonnie said putting a hand over her mouth and a arm over her stomach leaning forward and five grabbing her quickly teleporting them over to the bathroom of the academy.
"false alarm." bonnie shrugged her shoulders like it was nothing smiling innocently at five who scoffed shaking his head and walking over of the bathroom leaving a very satisfied bonnie in there.
five went to check vanyas room while bonnie went inside of Allison's room deciding to change her attire. she put a light blue mom jeans rolling up the bottoms since it fit a little to big on her and a green stripped crew neck sweater. she headed over the the mirror and let her hair down putting the hair tie in her wrist before heading out of the room following after five who was going to where Diego and Klaus were.
"No sign of vanya." five announced.
"she's not in any of the rooms." Diego muttered.
"she's not downstairs, either." Klaus mumbled.
"well, I'm out." Diego sighed patting Klaus shoulder and ruffling Bonnie's hair.
"wait. wait. wait-"
"where the hell are you going?" Bonnie asked frowning her eyebrows deeply as she watching Diego walk away from them.
"hey, vanyas still out there and so are hazel and cha-cha." five took a step besides bonnie confused onto why he decided to leave at this time.
"I know. I'm gonna get my things and then I'm outta here. i got some unfinished business with those fools." with his last words he strutted off without looking back, leaving a worried and confused bonnie behind.
bonnie sighed deeply tilting her head to the side still looking to where diego was standing. five dropped his hand out of his boy short pockets and intertwined their fingers together. that same explosion feeling erupting in both of their bodies.
five gently pulled Bonnie over to Klaus who was leaning against the railing looking sadly down at the ground. "when you spoke to dad, did he say anything about the apocalypse when you spoke to him?"
Klaus just sighed deeply.
"any clues as to how it happened?" five asked again.
"no. no clues. truly terrific shave. but no clue." they were at a dead end again, something that Bonnie and five are so very used to by now and by now bonnie figured that they would get into another life threatening situation to try and find another clue.
with their hands still intertwined five started heading downstairs when Klaus said following after then , "you know, come to think of it, he did mention something about my potential, and how I've barely even scratched the surface of my-"
five, once again, had the eye out in his hands ignoring everything that Klaus was saying to them - still in his own train of thoughts. "how did he know about the apocalypse?"
"I dont know, but listen." Klaus snapped lowly, "this whole jumping through time thing of yours, how did you-how did you know how to do that? and you Bonnie with that weird twilight shit that everyone has been talking about but I've never seen."
"I was an experiment." Bonnie simply shrugged her shoulders, although deep down those words still affect her deeply. "I didnt know about them until five almost got me killed when we went to go save his girlfriend."
five rolled his eyes at the last sentence that came out of her mouth before glancing over at Klaus who still didn't understand it. "and I didnt. you'd realize that if you were actually sober."
"hey, I am sober. I've been sober for two- almost two days now."
"yeah, two days."
"it feels like 45 years." Klaus mumbled underneath his breath but five didn't believe a single thing. "who are you kidding, Klaus? I've seen you fidgeting all day."
"you're such a dumbass, five. that's called withdrawal, he's gonna obviously be fidgeting he's been using practically half his life, do you expect him to be good from day through night?" Bonnie defended Klaus who nodded his head even though he had no idea what withdrawal meant until today, crossing his arms over his chest before abruptly turning his head over to five who was giving Bonnie a look.
"I'm not the only one fighting with an addiction." klaus remarked inching closer to five.
"I'm not an addict." he deadpanned.
"yeah, you are. you're addicted to a drug called the apocalypse." klaus whispered, but loud enough for five and Bonnie to head.
"you're wrong." he denied.
"first sign. denial." Klaus turned around and five dropping Bonnie's hand to teleport himself in front of Klaus.
"you and I, we're not the same." five stated, putting his finger on Klaus chest. but Klaus simply chuckled shaking his head.
"I've seen that look in the eye of someone who doesn't know who they are without their high anymore, and the only thing or should I said person who could keep you sane. is bonnie." klaus said pointing over towards the moore girl who was leaning against the pole with her arms crossed but her eyes staying on five who was beyond offended. "trust me. you gotta just let it go."
five threw the glass eyeball to the wall causing it to shatter in a million pieces, walking away furiously, hooking his hand back onto Bonnie's and dragging her along with him. like how he always does. To keep him sane. to keep him in check.
"figuratively, but yeah, that works, too."

FIVE was almost drunk. bonnie was almost passed out to sleep on the island table. five and bonnie were both about to give up on everything, hey, at least they're doing it together.
oh, and delores is there. back with the mannequin with them, at this point Bonnie didn't mind as she would usually just throw the doll somewhere in the room.
five slid down a margarita over towards the girl who pushed it away with a nasty look on her face. the 14 year old boy shrugged his shoulder holding his own margarita in hand and sitting down besides bonnie.
the girls mind was filled with what klaus told five. she was overthinking way to much in what klaus said.
and the only thing or should I say person, keeping you sane, is bonnie.
that sentence alone could be interpreted in a million ways. he could be using her in a bad way, needing to have her everywhere he goes unless people want him to just snap and murder everyone for answers but in a positive way at least he's spending them with her. needing her attention 24/7 unless people want him to snap and murder people.
it's a good thing im there, bonnie thought. she does keep him sane, she keeps him in check but she also encourages him a lot and maybe that's not what he needs.
even though it's exactly what he needs. bonnie and five need each other in more ways than just physically. they are the perfect pair, as the handler stated. they keep each other the way they are for safety purposes. they keep each other safe. they help each other, they compliment each other and no one else is going to be able to do all of that while keeping each other sane.
but neitherless, overthinking is a bitch and it always gets the best of bonnie moore.
she didn't even hear five calling out her name until he placed his hand on her shoulder turning her stood to face him. "huh?"
"did you hear a single word I said?" five asked lazily and bonnie put her lips in a tight line shaking her head gently. "I was saying how everything has gone to shit. the apocalypse has ended and now everything is back to the way it was. shitty."
"do you like having me around?" bonnie blurted out, her mouth moving faster than her mind. her eyes widen placing her hand over her mouth. wanting nothing more than the earth to just eat her completely and throw her into a black hole.
"what?" five asked letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding dropping his arms down from her shoulder.
"Klaus said that im the only person who could keep you sane. it just got me wondering if that's the only reason why im always with you. to keep you sane and wondering if you even like having me around." bonnie continued cursing herself for her mouth not shutting up and for her mind to work faster, especially now.
"of course i like having you around. if I didn't I wouldn't been with you all the time." but the boy noticed that that wasn't convincing the girl who sat across from him with her eyebrows knitted together, her lips turned into a upside frown, and her fingers fidgeting on her lap.
five scooted his chair closer to her putting his knee in between her legs. dropping both of his hands down to hers cupping them and staring deeply into her eyes. those ocean blue eyes that he so easily gets lost whenever he looks at them.
"bonnie, i can't do this with you. nothing, i just can't. yeah, you keep me sane but that's not even half the things on why i love having you with me. not by my side, with me." five muttered, his voice dropping down a little above a whisper only for her ears to her, for her only. "i never knew how much i needed you until the night after we got delores."
Bonnie's eyebrows twisted upwards and her upside down frown turned into a soft, sweet and gentle smile. the look on his face was something that Bonnie wish she could capture a picture of and always have it with her in case she needed to blackmail him. funny how her mind works even in times like this.
"never knew five hargreeves could have feelings." she teased leaning forward making their nose touch and their lips merely inches away from each other.
"shut up." five whispered and with that finally said the boy leaned forward capturing her lips into her, their lips molding perfectly with each other. Bonnie was taken back at first before taking her hand away from his hold and placing them on each side of his face.
Bonnie felt a whole zoo circling and roaming inside of her stomach, a light of electricity running down her spin and her mind running a million miles per hour. five smiled into the kiss leaning closer to her now not being able to get away from her.
all the tension, all the little moments, all the gestures leading up to this exact moment. to this perfect moment for bonnie and five.
bonnie was glowing, literally. it started from her heart the glow of light before it expanded all around her body and it exploded sending the glowing light out of her body making her hair flow behind her and fives hair messy.
the teenagers abruptly pulled apart when they heard a door knock. bonnie leaned back against her stool turning her entire body over to the front where Delores was, her head tilted down at her. five chuckled shaking his head as he mutter a, "I'll get it." while fixing his hair and clothes.
bonnie hummed smiling back at him and then glancing back over at delores, grabbing her by the neck and throwing her across the room.
she turned her stool and immediately her mouth dropped to the ground as she noticed who was standing right in front of her.
Hazel.
