chapter twelve, episode five
luther is bonding.

BONNIE regretted walking inside of fives room the exact second she entered it and her eyes landed on his walls. one, it hurt seeing him writing in the walls. two, there were too many letters and numbers and equations for her to even understand.

"I brought you black coffee," Bonnie said walking slowly over to his counter besides his bed looking at the entire wall, "and now I'm leaving."

she quickly started to make her way out of his room before her brain exploded but Luther's big body covered the entire exit trapping her inside. "who you talkin' to? what is all this?"

Bonnie rolled her eyes and let out a groan as Luther wouldn't move away from the doorway so she walked over to fives bed and dropped herself down glancing up at five who was scribbling more stuff.

"it's a probability map."

"probability of what?"

"of whose death could save the world." five said as if they knew what he was talking about. "I've narrowed it down to four."

"are you saying one of these four people causes the apocalypse?" Luther asked only now moving his body away from the doorway pointing up the ceiling. bonnie was too comfortable on the bed and too invested in the conversation to want to leave now.

"no." five stopped writing shaking his head, "I'm saying that their death might prevent it."

"oh." Luther's voice dropped rocking back and forth on his heels softly and bonnie was starting at him noticing his confused face.

"you have no clue on what he's talking about, do you?"

"yeah, I'm not following." Luther nodded his head putting his lips in a tight line glancing down at bonnie who chuckled.

"time is fickle, Luther." Five turned around once more, "the slightest alteration in events can lead to massively different outcomes in the time continuum. the butterfly effect."

"I'm just gonna grab this." Bonnie mumbled underneath her breath reaching out for the black coffee that she made five and instead drank some for herself. five frowned his eyebrows and grabbed it from her hands taking a sip from it and his face was satisfied.

she made it exactly how he liked it.

"so all I have to do is find the people with the greatest probability of impacting the time line, wherever they may be, and kill them."

"just that?" Bonnie asked sarcastically and five looked back at her nodding his head before jumping off the bed.

Luther squinted his eyes to see the wall but he couldn't see anything so he walked closer to the wall and tilted his head up. "Milton Greene. so who's he, a terrorist or something?"

five had a small size notebook with a pencil in his hand squinting his eyes looking at his wall. "I believe he is a gardener."

"you can't be serious." Luther's head quickly turned over to five who dropped down to the floor confusing Bonnie who was still on his bed. "wait, this is a madness, five. you-"

five got back up from the floor but with something large in his arm and placed it down in front of Bonnie.

"wh-where'd you get that?"

"in dads room." five said opening it up showing a gun inside of it. "I think he used it to shoot a rhinoceros. It's similar to the model I used at work. Nice shoulder fit and highly reliable."

"wow." Bonnie breathed out reaching forward to touch it but five leaned back giving her a disapproving face. "oh come on!"

"but you can't- this guy Milton is just an innocent man."

"it's basic math."

"I thought algebra was basic math." Bonnie said.

"his death could potentially save the lives of billions. if I did nothing he'd be dead in four days anyways. the apocalypse won't spare anyone."

"we don't do this kind of thing." Luther snapped.

"we are not doing anything." Five said motioning to him and Bonnie, "I am."

"I can't let you go and kill innocent people."

"five, what if your wrong and he isn't the guy." Bonnie asked tilting her head to the side giving five a curious look.

"im never wrong." he deadpanned giving her a cocky smirk that Bonnie wanted to slap right out of his face. "good luck stopping me."

five started to walk away and Luther walked over to the chair besides the window and picked up Delores. "you're not going anywhere."

"Poor Delores." Bonnie said sarcastically as she leaned her head against her hand that was on her knee glancing between five and Luther.

Luther held Delores out of the window going to throw her down and five held up the gun to Luther. "put - her - down."

"put the gun down. youre not killing anyone. i know she's important to you so don't make me do this." as Luther said this Bonnie watched them as if they were a tv show. five scoffed shaking his head holding up the gun and ready to pull the trigger.

"it's either her for the gun. you decide." the two stayed silent more a good solid 30 seconds staring at each other before he threw her out of the window and five did his spital jump over to Delores catching her.

Bonnie rolled her eyes and glanced back over at luther who now held the gun who and five held Delores in his arms. "she's a goddamn mannequin." she whispered underneath her breath shaking her head.

"she's my friend." five whispered shouted back at her. five sighed deeply going back over to the chair and placing her carefully down. Bonnie watched his single move, his friend, he told her.

"I know you're still a good person, five." luther said dropping the gun down and walking over towards five who sat down in front of Bonnie rubbing his hand over his face. "otherwise, you wouldn't have risked everything coming back here to save us all. but you're not on your own anymore." luther said glancing down at Bonnie who frowned her eyebrows and looked up at him in confusing.

"oh my gosh!" Bonnie whispered smiling up at luther, "are we finally bonding?" Bonnie said sarcastically and luther rolled her eyes looking away from her before slowly nodding his head.

"there is one way." five sighed tilting his head to the side, "but it's just about impossible."

"more impossible than what brought you back here?"
