Lewis grumble on the couch as he felt Manolo sleep hastily. He was still pissed off at his friends for telling him that they were going ice skating over the lake, leaving Lewis home.

The deadbeats were warming some tea for Manolo as soon as he woke up. Lewis's eyes slightly widened as he heard a shudder cry of his name.

He looked over to Manolo, who was fidgeting. He growls and picks up Manolo to hug him gracefully.He ignores his phone ringing and warms up Manolo more with his flames.

(Flashback)

"I don't know guys.", Manolo said softly, "W-What if Lewis finds out?"

Jack patted his back, "Oh c'mon Manolo! Lewis is just being overprotective to ya! When was the last time you ever went ice skating?"

Manolo shrugged, it's been years since he went ice skating, he couldn't even remember how it was like. He wonders why even Lewis cares for him that much?

He puts on his ice skating shoes, the sliver lines shine without the sun. The reddish blades looked more like knives then blades to him. He gets up, he was about to fall until Jack took hold of him.

"Woah! Careful now, I'll help ya.", Jack said nicely, Manolo smiled as him and Jack skated on the ice.

Once Manolo was able to ice skate by himself, he twirled and dance on the lake gracefully. His friends knew that Manolo was always good at music and dancing. They always though that he should join the  Winter Olympics.

Manolo giggles as he does his twirls and moves. Then he stops finally on the middle of the lake, he pants heavily. He watches his friends ice skate around the lake. He sighs.

Jack then hears a crack all of sudden. He stops and looks down on the ice. The ice was cracking, the crack was leading towards the middle.

"Manolo!"

Manolo gasped as he falls down in the cold icebreaking water. His friends wasted no time as they head off to the middle of the lake. Jack went down in looked around for Manolo.

Manolo held his breathe in, he felt a hand grab his arm. Looking up, he saw Jack pulling him to the surface. The two finally breathe air and coughed up water. Brock held Manolo on his back, while Jack got up by himself.

They got in the car and drove to the warmest place they know of.

...

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!!!", Lewis yelled, his fist punching the table. Brock and Manny gasped as they heard him yell that loud. Daniel held Jack, trying to make sure he doesn't harm Lewis.

Jack yelled, "I told you! Manolo and us went to ice skate on the lake, and he fell into the water! You're luck that he's still here!!" Lewis fires up more. "I care because I can! And didn't you or him tell me?!", he yelled.

Manny replied, "It's because we didn't want you to interfere! Not to rude Lewis, but we think you're more like a mother to Manolo!"

Now Lewis was pissed off, he was about to charge flames at them. A strange "OW!" came from the kitchen. Lewis rushes over there and saw Manolo on the floor.

His hand bleeding, glass swatter. Manolo gasped as he saw Lewis. He backed away and covers his face as he heard his loud footsteps. Lewis wrapped a bandages around his hand and looked at Manolo with an angry glare.

Manolo shudders, "L-Lewis, I'm f-fine.." Lewis picks him up bridal style and carries him to room. The rest looked at Lewis with confusion as they saw Lewis hold Manolo in a weird manner.

Lewis kissed his cheek softly, Manolo smiled tiredly.

(End of Flashback)

Lewis now feels bad, maybe he is more like a mother to Manolo. Yet, he's trying not to lose him, like he lost Vivi. He kissed his forehead, and smiled.

Manolo smiled in his sleep, his day of the dead tattoos glow orange in happiness. Lewis smiled and hugs him tightly, making sure he never lets go of him.
