'I have found our young. They are safe' Kai mind linked Baekhyun who felt immediate relief.

Dragons were the most powerful creatures in the world and obtaining a young fledgling who you could train to be your slave was the desire of many.

He knew with just one anyone could make a fortune in the black market and this is why he tried his best to protect his people.

He shifted from his enormous black and red scaled dragon to his human form.

In human form he was actually shorter than most even though he carried a powerful aura and his body was strong.

He inherited most of his features from his mother but he actually had the largest dragon form like his father.

He looked down at what was left of the pack and the prisoners they had captured. It was mostly women and children. Most men had been slaughtered.

"Where is the alpha?" Baekhyun asked in a low menacing tone.

He wanted to rip the man to shreads for what he had done.

"I'm sorry my King but he got away" his most trusted man and friend Kyungsoo responded with his head bowed.

In a fit of anger Baekhyun screamed and breathed fire into the sky.

"HUNT HIM DOWN AND BRING ME HIS HEAD" He commanded causing all the dragons and wolves to bow in submission.

'My King...we have a little problem' Kai mind linked him again.

'WHAT?' Baekhyun was already annoyed enough.

'We found a little wolf pup with the fledglings. It's critically injured' Kai responded.

'So what kill the pup I don't care put it out of its misery' Baekhyun responded with a frown.

He had a hatred for wolves so he didn't care if they lived or died.

'Well the thing is the babies are attached to the pup and are protecting it from us. You know how protective fledglings can be'  Kai responded 

'Whatever bring it along then. As soon  as they are given back to their mother lock it up with the rest of them"  Baekhyun said before turning to the people around him.

He took a while looking at everyone.

"It seems your alpha has abandoned you. I have never seen such a coward. Sadly you will all have to suffer for his sins...kill the rest of the men and take the woman and children and lock then up" he picked up a fragile looking woman before he whispered into her ear. Her eyes bulged up in shock and fear.

"Leave her. She has a message for their alpha" he said before they all left.

"Thank you my King" the woman bowed as she repeated the words over and over.

Baekhyun was tired and just wanted to collapse on his bed, but reuniting the fledglings with their mother was his top priority.

He ran his fingers through his blood red hair with black highlights, before giving her a warm smile.

"There is no need to thank me. It was my duty"  he said and soon Kai arrived with Kyungsoo and led them to one of the rooms.

Kai and Kyungsoo were mates. When they were just teens Baekhyun and Kyungsoo had visited one of the smaller dragon tribes and that's when they met.

It was love at first sight and he moved back to the main tribe with them.

Baekhyun wasn't so lucky though. It had been so long but he still hadn't found his mate.

Baekhyun and Kyungsoo were only 18 when he met Kai who was 17 at the time, but Baekhyun was now 100 already.

Because of who he is he has been through all the tribes and seen almost all of his kind but still hasn't met his mate.

The only true family  he had left was his grandmother but sooner or later he will be left alone.

He had friends but there was a certain void they would never be able to fill.

He was happy for them but a part of him was still jealous of their happiness.

They finally got to the room and Baekhyun was hit with the most alluring and intoxicating scent he had ever breathed in.

It made his mouth water and filled him with so much desire he couldn't understand.

The first thing his eyes landed on was a small baby blue furred pup that lay curled up like a ball.

"What is that disgusting thing doing with my babies" the woman freaked out as she rushed and pulled her fledglings before throwing the little pup across the room.   

Baekhyun was filled with so much rage he couldn't understand.  He wanted to rip the woman apart but that didn't make sense because he had never desired to hurt his own kind.

The fledglings cried for the pup but the woman held them tight as she rushed out of the room.

Baekhyun was about to drag her back by the throat when a low whimper caught his attention.

As he turned back to the pup he was filled with the need to be close and comfort the pup and take away all its pain.

They was blood on its neck and the dragon just wanted to rip apart whoever caused the pup pain.

He took a deep breath as he fought for control but was filled with the wonderful scent which now clearly came from the pup.

And then the reality of the whole situation came crushing down on him.

"Baek...Baekhyun" Kyungsoo called his name until he snapped back to reality and faced his friend.

"Are you alright?" Kyungsoo asked as Kai went to pick up the pup causing it to howl in pain breaking Baekhyuns self control as he saw red.

Baekhyun was on top of Kai with his hand around his throat fangs and claws out.

"Baek what are you..."

"DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH WHAT'S MINE OR I WILL RIP YOU TO SHREADS" 

Everyone gasped in shock.

So Baekhyun finally found his mate. Will he accept or reject him when he finds out how damaged he is?
