"But whyyyyy... You promised that when I turn 18 I could go out with you" the blue haired teen cried as he watched his parents get ready to leave the house.

At first he was comfortable with the way his parents sheltered him.
He had been told countless times that the outside world was a dangerous place that he wouldn't be able to survive for a day.

But now It felt more like a prison for him since he couldn't leave the house even just to stand in their backyard.

"Chanyeol you're not ready. You're not going anyway. Go to your room and study" his father stood his ground making the boy pout.

"But I study all the time and I want a break. Just this once take me with you" he cried again.

Being home schooled meant home time was study time for him and he was tired of it.

"No and that's final" his father said before his mother gave him a sympathetic look and walked up to him.

"We do this because we love you. Don't let anyone in before we get back" she said before kissing him on the cheek.

And then they were gone.

Chanyeol threw himself on the couch in anger. He was about to read a novel when he heard three taps on window.

He jumped in happiness before rushing to open the front door.

"Hey" he greeted as he smiled at the tall man who walked in before Chanyeol locked up again.

They weren't rich but used all the money they could to build a security system that would keep them safe from the outside world.

Chanyeol had never been outside but his parents had told him that years ago everything was fine and life was simple and easy to survive.

That was until the supernatural world decided it was tired of living in the shadows.

The moment humans discovered dragons, vampires, werewolves, witches, fairies and all sort of supernatural creatures really existed the world went into war.

The humans tried to fight the creatures and reclaim the world they once knew but soon they discovered they were the inferior race.

Thrown at the bottom of the food chain they either became food for vampires, slaves for the powerful or went into hiding finding the best ways to survive.

Chanyeols parents were part of the people that went into hiding and survived as best as they could.

Chanyeol wanted to help. He wanted to be useful to his parents but they told him he was special and that the world was not ready for him but he knew it was because they thought he was not ready for the world.

But Chanyeol could never accept that and so one day he snuk out when his parents weren't around.

He made sure to spray the serum his parents had acquired from some witches to hide their scent.

He had seen enough pictures from the books he had read to know that their house was in the middle of the forest.

And their house looked more like a small hill covered with sand, shrubs and trees.

They were well hidden.

It became a habit to go out but Chanyeol knew it was best if he played around near the house just in case his parents came back early.

But then one day when he was out he was attacked by a wolf.

It had red eyes and was ready to devour the scared boy but just before it could trap him in its jaws he was saved.

He was saved by the very same man he was letting into the house whenever his parents were out.

"Someone looks happy to see me" the man smiled causing the blue haired boy to blush.

"Stop it Kris. I will kick you out if you try to be funny" Chanyeol said as he looked away.

"I'm just kidding. Look what I brought you" Kris said making the young boy brighten up with a huge smile.

Kris passed him the sweets he had brought him and Chanyeol didn't hesitate to devour them all.

"Slow down. You're going to upset your stomach" Kris said, his words landing on deaf ears.

When Chanyeol was done he took a hold of Kris' hand so that they could sit on the couch but he wouldn't move.

"Kris what's wrong?" Chanyeol asked when he realised Kris was giving him a strange look.

Soon Chanyeol had his back against the wall where Kris had trapped him.

"K-kris...w-whats g-going...on" the blue haired boy was a bit frightened because his friend had never acted this way.

"I'm not here for long" Kris said.

"Why?" Chanyeol asked disappointed.

"I just...I just needed to see you and tell you that..." Kris went silent and looked conflicted.

"Kris what's wrong?" Chanyeol asked filled with concern.

"No matter what happens you should know that I care about you and will never ever allow you to get hurt" Kris said but before Chanyeol could respond he felt lips cover his own.

It was a new and strange feeling as his eyes fluttered closed and he kissed back.

"I'm sorry" Kris said as Chanyeol opened his eyes and froze in shock.

Kris' usual brown eyes were gold but not only that but Chanyeol could see his wolf fangs. He knew they were wolf from studies but before he could respond he felt a sharp pain on his shoulder which caused him to scream in pain before colapsing on the ground.

If felt like some sort of poison was spreading throughout his body causing him to shake.

The last thing he saw was the regret in Kris' eyes before everything went black.
