Route 666 -- Jealousy
Sam leaned against the Impala, looking at the map he had spread out over the hood. I sat on trunk, pulling up flannel off and decided to tan my stomach while we waited for Sam to find a route around construction. We sat for about forty-five minutes. "Okay. I think I found a way we can bypass that construction just east of here. We might even make Pennsylvania faster than we thought." Sam said to us, looking up.
"Bout damn time." I state, slipping off the hood and pulling my flannel on. Dean snapped his phone shut, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"Yeah. Problem is, we're not going to Pennsylvania." Dean said, making his way over to the drivers door. I pulled the hair tie out of my hair and redid the bun and placed my sunglasses atop my head.
"Were not?" I question, standing besides him.
"I just got a call from an, uh, old friend. Her father was killed last night, think it might be our kinds of thing." He refused to meet my gaze.
"Huh?"
"Yeah. Believe me. She never would have called, never if she didn't need us." Dean replied, emphasizing his words. He got into the Impala and looked out the window to where Sam and I stood. "Come on, are you coming or not?"

The impala cruised down a long road and for once, I had no idea which friend we were visiting. And I really hoped it was't who I thought it was. "Which.... old friend is it?" I ask hesitantly.
"A friend that's not new." Dean replied bluntly, not wanting to talk about it.
"Oh yeah, thanks. So, her names Cassie, huh? You never mentioned her...." Sam spoke up.
"Her?" I question, my voice raising an octave higher.
"Yeah, you know her." Dean snapped, gripping the wheel tighter. It was a job in Ohio. John, Dean, and I were working it. Dean ended up dating her, much to my dismay. "We went out."
"You mean you dated somebody? For more than one night?" Sam joked in disbelief.
I scrunched up my nose and leaned back in my seat, sighing angrily.
"Am I speaking a language you're not getting here? Dad and I were working a job in Ohio, she was finishing up college. We went out for a couple of weeks." Dean snapped again.
"And...." Sam pressed. Dean shrugged slightly. He glanced back at me and I turned away, turning my nose up in defiance. "Look, it's terrible about her Dad, but it kinda sounds like a standard car accident. I'm not seeing out it fits with what we do. Which by the way, how does she know what we do?"
I snapped my gaze towards Dean, seething in fury. "You told her?!" I accused.
When he didn't reply, Sam's eyes widened as well. "You told her. You told her the secret! Our big family rule: number one! We do what we do and we shut up about it! For a year and a half, I did nothing but lie to Jessica, Lottie lied to her friends, and you go out with a chick from Ohio a couple of times and you tell her everything?!" Dean stayed silent, staring straight ahead. "Dean!"
"Yeah, looks like it." He continued, staring ahead. Sam gave him a stank face before looking out of the window. Jealousy sprouted its ugly head and I wanted nothing more than to open the car door and roll outwards.

We entered the office for a local newspaper. Inside was a young woman with mocha colored skin, a middle aged man with pale skin, and an older man with deep chocolate skin. "Jimmy, you're too close to this. Those guys were friends of yours. Again, Cassie, I'm very sorry for your loss." The white man said, turning to leave. The older man scowled, shaking his head before leaving as well. The young woman - Cassie, turned with an angry look on her face, but froze when her eyes landed on Dean. I felt my mood start to sour. She was beautiful. I felt very self conscious.
"Dean." She breathed out, walking towards him.
"Hey Cassie." He greeted with a slight nod and a grin present on his lips. They stare at each other for a long moment, neither of them saying a work. Sam looked towards me, concern in his eyes. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife. I cleared my throat, crossing my arms over my chest. "Oh, right. This is my brother, Sam. And of course you remember Lottie." I rolled my eyes and looked away from him.
"Sorry about your dad." Sam said, but it went unheard as they began staring at each other again. I felt sick to my stomach by now.

I stood outside of Cassie's house, leaning against the Impala while she entertained Sam and Dean. I did not want to be in the same room as her right now. I reached into the Impala, grabbing onto the pack of cigarettes I had hidden just in case I needed to destress. Regret filled my stomach as I thought about smoking it. I looked towards the window to see Dean and Cassie hugging. Anger replaced the guilt. "Fuck this." I snap, cracking open the pack and lighting up a cigarette for myself. I took a long drag as a car pulled up. A woman stepped out, gazing at me curiously. I nodded towards the house and she looked, seeing Cassie entertaining. She waltzed in, not giving me a second look. I took another drag as Sam and Dean stepped out, staring at the cancer stick between my lips. I stomped it out after a second and got into the car, refusing to meet their gazes.

We finally reached a motel in town. I refused to speak with Dean and Sam found it odd. Dean hadn't even glanced at me since the office. Dean immediately made a beeline for the bathroom.
"What's wrong, Lottie?" Sam asked, tossing me a beer.
"Isn't it obvious?" I ask, popping the top off and taking a long sip.
Sam sighed gently, sitting besides me. "You know, you can talk to me about this stuff." Sam suggested.
"Thanks Sam. But honestly, I'm probably just gonna go hibernate." I hum, getting up and grabbing my bag. "I'll see you in the morning, alright?" I leave the room as soon as Dean steps out of the bathroom.
I sighed gently as I lay on my bed that night, touching my lower lip with my fingers. Tears started to well up underneath my eyelids and I couldn't stop them. I was acting like a child. I felt so angry with Cassie because she was so beautiful, I was angry at Dean for giving her googly eyes, and I was mostly angry with myself for being so mundane looking. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
