Dead In The Water -- People Don't Just Disappear
~***~
We sat in a little restaurant, sitting in a torn up booth. I sat with Sam on one side while Dean was on the other. Both Winchesters claimed to be searching for a new hunt, looking through newspapers to do so. Although, one of them were lying. Obviously that was Dean, who seemed rather interested in the pretty blonde waitress.
Wendy was her name, and she absolutely agitated me. I've been waiting on my coffee for a full twenty minutes while both the boys got their coffee's within five seconds. And the fact that Dean kept staring at her fake boobs. I crossed my arms over my, ehem, real chest, and pouted. Sure, she had curves in all the right places, and long blonde hair. She was most guys dreams. And those dreams usual consist of hot, dirty sex, but dammit, I was desirable too. I had long black hair that most men seem to worship, emerald green eyes that John swore up and down were made from the stars themselves and were absolutely what my future man would stare into for hours. And my figure was shapely and worthy of dirty dreams. I guess. Ugh, I hate men sometimes. I kept a glare on Dean as he kept his pen between his lips, staring at that behind swaggering around the diner.
She finally got to our table, and in all that is evil in the world, Wendy sauntered over to our table and 'accidentally' poured it over my front and lap. I leapt out of my seat, yelping in shock, trying to wipe off the scalding coffee. She began to babble uselessly about being sorry. "Mother, fuck!" I pulled my shirt away from my body as the coffee scalded my skin. I whirled around and stalked towards the bathroom, grumbling angrily.

Dean's POV
My breath caught in my throat as I gazed at that perfect ass swaggering away, a grin slipping onto my lips as I bit onto the pen I had been chewing on. "Can I get you anything else?" The waitress purred, looking straight at me. I shook my head and looked towards her as Lottie disappeared behind the bathroom door.
"Just the check, please." Sam said, shaking his head.
"Okay." She sighed lightly.
I sighed out, leaning back a little. "You know, Sam," I start, gazing at my brother. "We're aloud to have fun every once in awhile."
"That 'fun' spilled coffee over the woman you're wanting." He smirked, making me spit out my coffee. And in the worst possible moment, Lottie took her seat in front of me, getting caught in the crossfire. Her eyes closed tightly as she accepted the spray, holding up her finger, and stalking towards the bathroom again. My eyes instantly locked back onto that perfect ass.
"What the hell are you talking about, Sammy?" I whispered angrily. Sam composed himself as he stopped laughing, changing the topic.
"Lake Manitoc, Wisconsin." He said, a red circle surrounded the city.
I nodded, scanning over the page as Lottie came back with a tall glass of water. Heh, kind of like herself. Yep, she's-
My thoughts stopped as cold water poured down the top of my head, soaking my shirt and poured into my coffee. Lottie took her seat and gazed at Sam with a neutral look on her face. "Continue." Lottie hummed.

Lottie's POV
"Yeah, last week, Sophie Carlton, eighteen, walks into the lake, doesn't walk out. Authorities say they dragged her into the water. There was nothing. She's the third one in that lake this year. No other bodies were found either. There was a funeral two days ago." He spoke as if he read it before.
"A funeral?" I ask, eyebrow raising. "Why would they have a funeral for someone with no body?"
Dean shrugged, wiping his face. "Beats me. It's really weird. They buried an empty coffin. Some kind of closure or whatever."
"What closure?" Sam suddenly retorted. I propped my head in my hand. "People don't just disappear, Dean. Other people just stop looking for them." I could hear his anger and disappointment.
"Something you want to say to me, Sammy?" Dean asked, sitting up straighter.
"The trail for Dad," Sam automatically replied. "It's getting colder every day."
"And- what are we supposed to do?"
Sam's fist clenched on the table. "Something!" He cried out. "Anything."
"You know what?" Dean shot back. "I'm sick of this attitude! You don't think that I want to find Dad as much as you do?"
"Yeah, I know you do, it's just-" Sam started, but Dean cut him off.
"Lottie and I have been with Dad every single day for the past two years, while you've been off to college, going to pep rallies. We will find Dad, but until then, we're going to kill everything bad between here and there. Okay?!" Dean snapped. The tension between the two was so thick. I hated it. I finished my coffee and slammed the mug down.
"Alright, let's cut the shit." I snap, gaining their attention. "Sam, I get where you're coming from and I understand, okay? I do, but you need to control that attitude and be patient. We'll find whatever killed Jess, and until we do? We help anyone who needs it and we look damn happy doin' it. Got it?" He nods like a child being scolded for throwing a tantrum. "Dean, you need to stop flirting with every pair of tits that've gone through surgery and an airheaded personality." Dean flinches backwards a little bit, looking confused.
Sam started laughing at Dean. I sighed out with smile. "Alright, Lake Manitoc, how far is it?" I ask after a beat of silence.
Dean snorted, lifting his mug to his lips, sipping the coffee with a smirk. "Farther than your sex life." Sam and I started choking on our coffee, spitting them out and spraying Dean with two mouthfuls of coffee.

Sam continued to rant the fact that I was still untouched by man. "How is it that you've never had sex with anyone, Lottie! You're literally getting more attention than Dean and I combined!" My face burned as I glared holes in the back of Dean's head. "Dean, how the hell did you know she hasn't done the deed?"
He smirked, looking at me through the rear view mirror. "Well, for one, she's always with me. Everyday of every hour were together." Sam started laughing again. "And her reaction told me she's still a cute little virgin." He flinches as I throw an empty bag of chips at the back of his head.
I pushed out my lower lip and crossed my arms over my bosom. I looked out the window, hiding that smile I was bearing. I really did like when Dean teased me like this. I'm a bit of a masochist, I guess. The rest of the drive was spend with music filling out the silence around us. We arrived at Lake Manitoc, which actually wasn't so far away. With the help of the world's cutest old lady that lived within the town, we managed to track down the Carlton Home. This time, I stayed behind Dean and Sammy. Dean knocked and a young man answered the door right away.
"Will Carlton?" Dean asked.
Will nodded and opened the door a little wider. "How may I help you?"
"I'm Agent Ford. This is Agent Hamil, and behind us, is Agent Fisher." Dean introduced. I was hoping he wouldn't get the reference. We pulled out our fake badges.
"We're from the Wildlife Service." I add, pocketing my badge after he got a look at it.
Will led us to a tree out back by the lake. "She was about a hundred yards out." He started, looking behind him. I noticed an older man sitting on the dock. By the look of him, I was certain he was the father. His body seemed very somber. The man was in agony. "That's where she got dragged down."
"And you're sure she didn't just, drown?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. She was a varsity swimmer." He replied. "She practically grew up in that lake. She was as safe out there as in her own bathtub."
"No signs of distress?" I clasp my hands together behind my back.
"No, that's what I'm telling you."
"Alright, last question and I think that should do it." Dean proceeded to say. "You see any shadows in the water? Or strange tracks by the shoreline?"
Will shook his head, surprised by Dean's question. "No, never. Why? What do you think is out there?"
"We'll let you know when we find out." Dean said quickly. "What about your father? Do you think we could talk to him?"
Will sighed and looked over his shoulder as I gave Dean a look. "Look, if you don't mind- I mean, he didn't see anything, and he's kind of been through a lot."
"It was a pleasure, Mr. Carlton. Thank you for your time, and we're very sorry for your loss." I start, grabbing Dean's arm and scowled at him. "Call us if you need anything, hun."
Will smiled in return and agreed.

We arrived at the police station afterwards, the sheriff immediately calling us in to talk. Though he was a bit confused.
"Now, I'm sorry, but why does the Wildlife Service care about an accidental drowning?" He said after leading us into his office. I was currently leaned against the wall near the door while Sam and Dean occupied the chairs in front of the Sheriff's desk.
"Are you sure it was accidental? Will Carlton saw something grab his sister." I cross my arms over my bosom, propping my leg up on the wall.
"Like what? There are no indigenous carnivores in that lake." Sam and Dean shared a look as the Sheriff spoke. "There's nothing even big enough to pull down a person, unless it was the Loch Ness monster."
"Well, lots of critters could gang up on anything if they were hungry enough..." I smirk, tilting my head slightly. "Sheriff."
His eyes narrowed a bit. "Now, Will Carlton was traumatized, and sometimes, the mind plays tricks. We even dredged the entire lake. We even ran a sonar sweep just to be sure- there was nothing."
"That's weird though. I mean, that's the third missing body this year." I started picking at my jacket, flinging off lint that I had found. "Either these folks are gettin' eaten quickly, or there's a real freak on the loose." I narrowed my eyes a little, standing up straight and recrossing my arms.
"It won't be a problem much longer." The Sheriff simply replied.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, the dam, of course." The sheriff started looking suspicion. I raised an eyebrow.
"With the leak?" His features relaxed.
"It's falling apart, and the feds won't give us the grant to repair it. So they've opened up the spillway. In another six months, there won't be much of a lake. There won't be much of a town either, but as Federal Wildlife, you already know that.
I flinched a little as the door behind me opened up, a young woman stepping in. "Oh!" She stopped quickly, looking at the three of us. "I'm sorry. Am I interrupting? I can come back later?"
"This is my daughter, Andrea." The sheriff introduced the woman.
Dean, obviously, was the first to jump up and introduce himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Dean."
"Andrea Barr. Hi." She replied. I was ready to put that idiot in a choke hold, but I wanted to put myself into a choke hold for acting like a teen again.
"They're from the Wildlife Service. About the lake." The sheriff explained as he stood from his desk, making his way to his daughter.
"Oh." Andrea hummed, just as a little boy came up next to her, brushing against her arm as he did so. He looked up at me, his eyes widening a little bit. I smiled down at him.
"Hey, sweetheart, what's your name?" I ask, kneeling down to him. The boy just stared at me for a minute before quickly turning and walking away. Andrea took a moment before following after him.
"Don't take it personally, Agent Fisher." The Sheriff said, noticing my smile drop. I stood up and gazed after the young boy. "His names Lucas."
"Is he okay?" Sam asked.
"He's been through a lot." I peered through the window, watching mother and son interact, where she had given him some crayons and paper. "Well, if there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know. Seriously." The sheriff said, his eyes gazing a little too long at my body.
"You know, now that you mention it, hun, could you point us in the direction of a reasonably priced motel?" I hum out as Dean tried to tug me out of the office.
"Lakefront Motel. Go around the corner. It's about two blocks south." I hear Andrea chime in.
I'm about to thank her, but of course, Dean opens his big, fat gob. "Two-" Dean started, stopping in a lame attempt to get a few more minutes talking to her. "Would you mind showing us?" I roll my eyes at him.
"I'm sure your girlfriend could get you there, she looks like she's great with directions." Andrea smiled. I felt my cheeks burn, but it died down immediately as Dean spoke again.
"She ain't my girl, believe me." Dean chuckled. I crossed my arms over my bosom, grunting in agitation. Andrea gave me an apologetic look as I shoved past Dean, charging ahead with her directions in mind. And just as she said, it really was two blocks south. I got two rooms, giving the clerk a wink before exiting the lobby. I spot Sam smiling wildly.
"Sammy!" I call, trotting up to him and plopping his room key into his palm. Dean smiled wildly as I held up my spare key. I snorted and handed it to Sam, ignoring Dean. "Later boys, I'm gonna go take a hot shower." I call behind me, hearing Sam start laughing at Dean. He wants to play like that? Fine. I'd show him what he was missing.
