Simon Said -- I'm With You - No Matter What

~*****~

It felt like we were careening over a tightrope over a pit of fire. One wrong move, and we'd both topple. It was terrifying. Dean and I refused to look at one another, and honestly, the silence is what really got to me. I leaned against the table as I watched Andy lead an elderly guard towards the exit as Sam and Dean searched through the birth records. "Probably shouldn't leave you kids in here." The man said in a daze."

"No, it'll all be fine. Alight? Just got get a cup of coffee." Andy said reassuringly, and raised his hand in a wave. "These aren't the droids you're looking for."

"Awesome." Dean muttered with a grin.

I rolled my eyes and went back to search through my box of records. "Oh- I got it! Talk about the lucky pick!" I called, and placed it on the table. Sam came to my side and we scanned over it. "And yes, Andy. It's true; Holly Beckett was your birth mother."

"Huh. Does anyone have any vicodin?" Andy scoffed.

"Dr. Jennings was her doctor, too? I mean, he oversaw the adoption. You have a solid connection to the both of them." Sam added, making Andy furrow his eyebrows.

"Yeah, but I didn't kill them." Andy defended.

"We believe you." Dean told him. Sam and I nodded in agreement.

"We just gotta find out who did then." I sigh and lean against the table. I look back down at the record, and something catches my eye. "And I think I have a good guess. Holly Beckett gave birth to twins."

"That makes things difficult." Sam sighed. Andy froze in his spot as Sam grabbed the folder to study it.

"I have an evil twin?" Andy asked after a beat of shocked silence.

"Holly put you and your brother up for adoption. And you went to the Gallagher family, obviously, and your brother went to the Weems family from upstate." Sam explained as he continued to read through the file. Andy stepped up to the table to try and imprint everything into his brain.

"Andy, how you doin'? Still with us?" Dean teased, obviously trying to lighten the mood.

"Um... what was my brothers name?" Andy asked nervously.

"Here. Um, Ansen Weems." Sam said in a tone that veered more to a question. Andy shook his head. "And he's got a local address." Sam added.

"He -- He lives here?" Andy stuttered in shock.

"Lets get a look at him. Got his picture coming off from the DMV right now." Dean muttered, and grabbed the paper off of the printer. I watched his features go from neutral to shock. He held it out to me, and I'm shunted back to being at that diner. "Hate to kick you while you're freaked. Take a look at that." Dean muttered to Andy.

Sam grasped the paper from me and passed it to Andy. His face fell in shock. "Weber?" He exclaimed.

The Impala drove down the road during the dead of night. Sam and Dean were in the front seat while Andy and I sat in the back. He was leaned over the front seat, and it took all my willpower not to frog him in the thigh.

"Alright, Andy. Tell us everything you know about this guy." Sam said in an urgent tone.

"Well, I mean, not much. I... Weber shows up one day, eight months ago? Acting like he's my best friend in the world. Kinda weird, like, trying too hard, you know?" Andy told them. Sam started to shift a little as I gazed at him, and the pain just started rolling off of him.

"Sam?" I called out. He gasped in pain. I reached out quickly, and latched onto his shoulder. The car pulled to a stop as I watch the vision unfurl. Tracy -- the woman Andy worked with -- being murdered. Tears pricked at my eyes as Sam explained the vision to Dean. We shagged ass to the dam, and I hoped we weren't too late.

"You should stay back." I say to Dean as he popped the trunk.

"No argument here. Had my head screwed with enough for one day." Dean grumbled, and stepped out of the way as I pulled out two guns, which I gave to Sam. "Wait, you should-"

"Dean, someone has to be able to protect you." I retort. "You're the only one this power works on right now."

"Seriously, Lottie, you'd be best-"

"I'd be best by your side." I snapped. Dean swallowed the lump forming in his throat and stared down at the ground.

"I'm coming with you." Andy stated to Sam.

"Andy, no." Sam said sternly.

"If its Tracy out there... then I'm coming." Andy insisted.

"Sam, you need a second pair of eyes down there." I insisted. Sam rolled his eyes before reluctantly nodding. Once they were far enough away, I turned to Dean. "What's your plan?"

"Stay out of sight, keep a gun on him." Dean answered, and grabbed his rifle. We found on a spot on a hill that overlooked the dam and settled in. Dean immediately lined up his sights as we spot Sam on the ground, and Tracy on the edge. She swayed softly, as if she were waiting on the command to jump. For a moment, I thought we had him pegged down, but Dean's body tensed up.

"Dean?" I asked softly. I started backing up as he stood, and aimed his rifle at me with shaking hands, and teary eyes.

"I-I can't- I can't stop!" He grit out, his entire composure struggling to fight it.

"Hey, it's okay, it's okay." I cooed softly, and held my hands towards him. "You can fight this. I know you can. You're stronger than that." I kept reassuring him. He scrunched his eyes closed as he groaned and gasped in frustration. I closed my eyes and let out a soft breath.

The wind caressed my skin as the gun shot rang through the air. A stinging sensation burned against my temple, and I let out a soft sigh of relief. Dean threw the gun to the ground and quickly wrapped his arms around me. My heart pounded with the adrenaline coursing through me as Dean's hushed apologies flew from his lips. I sighed again, and leaned against him.

Rescue and police squads arrived on the dam before daybreak. Dean was leaned against a wall as Sam and I had our wounds tended to. Dean managed to pull the rifle to the right as he pulled the trigger, and it barely grazed my temple. Ironically, both guns went off at once, so we chalked it up to being hit with something sharp before the gun fire. Andy was talking to some police officers. "He shot himself. And you all saw it happen." Andy said to them.

"Look at him. He's getting better at it." Sam muttered softly as the paramedic left. Andy turned and started walking towards us. He faltered just a bit when he spotted Tracy in an ambulance. He gave her a small wave, and she avoided all eye contact with him.

"She won't even look at me." Andy said sadly after reaching us.

"She's pretty shaken up." I sighed and stood up. I held my hand out to Sam, and helped him up as Andy started chewing on his nails.

"No, it's, this is different. It's, uh, I never, I never used my mind thing on her before. Before last night. She's scared of me now." Andy mumbled.

"Hey, Andy. I hate to do this, but um, we have to get out of here." Sam started. "Here, I wrote down my cell. You don't have to be alone in this, all right? If anything comes up, just call me." Sam said regretfully, and held out a piece of paper. We started walking away when Andy spoke again.

"Wha-What am I supposed to do now?" Andy asked.

"You keep your nose clean, kid." I commented softly. "Or we'll be back." I waved him off, only to be stopped again. "What?" I whined.

He grabbed at my arm and Dean's arm and tugged us to stand together. "I clearly opened a can of worms between the two of you, so, talk about it." Andy commanded to Dean. I smiled softly at him as Dean tensed up and faced me. Andy and Sam walked off, so they wouldn't intrude.

I gazed at Dean as his entire face morphed into embarrassment. "Lottie- What I said earlier- I didn't mean- You're not a monster." He started quickly. "I just think- With that power, it's scary. We're all scared. And it's painful for me, because there's nothing I can do to stop you from freaking out about this. Because I have no idea what's going on. I'm afraid I won't be able to stop you from breaking down."

Tears pricked at my eyes and I bit at my lip. "I know. I know this is... so fucked up, Dean... But you're all I'll ever need." I said softly. I reached out and grasped his hand, and placed it above my heart. "It's always been you. Every time something happened with these freakish powers, every time I die, or every time I'm reminded of the fact that I'm turning into a freak- It's always been you to stop me from spiraling down into panic." I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around his neck. "It's always you, Dean Winchester. No matter what."

Dean's lips inched into a small smile before he tugged me closer to his chest. "You and me?" He hummed.

"Forever and ever." I coo, and lean my head against his chest.

"Alright, alright, break up the gross fest." Sam called out as we leaned in for a kiss. Dean and I groaned in annoyance. We started walking towards him. "Looks like I was right though."

"About what?" Dean asked as we slipped into the Impala.

"Andy. He's a killer after all." Sam grumbled.

"No, he's a hero. He saved his girlfriends life." Dean defended.

"Bottom line, last night, he wasted somebody." Sam argued.

"Yeah, but he's not foaming-at-the-mouth psycho. He was just... he was pushed into that." Dean commented.

"Weber was pushed too, in his own way. Max Miller was pushed. Hell, I was pushed by Jessica's death." Sam pointed out.

"What's your point, Sam?" Dean muttered.

"Right circumstances, everyone's capable of murder. Everyone. You know, maybe that's what the demons doing. Pushing us. Finding ways to break us."

"Sam, we don't know what the demon wants, okay? Quit worrying about it." Dean reassured.

"You know, I heard you before, Dean, when Andy made you tell the truth. You're just as scared of this as I am." Sam reminded him.

"That was mind control! I mean, it's like, like, that's like being roofied, man, that doesn't count!" Dean expressed.

"What?"

"No. I'm, I'm calling a do-over."

"What are you- Seven?"

"Dean's right, Sammy." I hum as I lean over the front seat. "He didn't consent. The jury's out- it's brain rape."

"Yeah, what she said!" Dean exclaimed.

"She's only agreeing because she loves you, Dean."

I gasped as if I had been offended. "Samuel William Winchester!"

"Doesn't matter. Look, we've gotta keep doing what we're doing, find that evil son of a bitch and kill it." Dean said simply.

"Yeah, I guess." Sam said doubtfully.

Dean's cell started to ring. "Hello? Ellen. What's going on? Yeah... We'll be right there."

~*****~

We sat at the bar in the roadhouse, looking at Ellen in front of us. Dean's arm was curled around my waist as he tipped back his beer. "Jo?" Ellen called out. I internally rolled my eyes. I had nearly forgotten about pretty, blonde Jo. We nearly tore each others heads off when I was staying here.

"Hmm?" Jo replied as she lifted her gaze from the table she had been cleaning.

"Go pull up another case of beer." Ellen said. Jo nodded and walked out.

"So, you uh, you want to tell me about this last hunt of yours?" Ellen asked us. I took that que to leave for the bathroom. Dean grasped at my wrist as everyone stared.

"I just gotta use the ladies room. Besides, they're better story tellers than I am." I jeer, and stalk towards the bathroom. The dingy bathroom does nothing to soothe the nerves flying up and down my back as I stare at my reflection. It was like a sun, too bright to stare at, but my eyes weren't burning. I couldn't see any features besides the ethereal green eyes peering out from the bright being. Then, out of nowhere, indistinct chatter echoed through my ears, and I found it hard to concentrate. I gasped out in pain as they got louder and louder. I fell to the ground, and grasped at my head. I pounded- like a jackhammer was inside my skull and just going wild. "Stop!" I nearly shouted, and everything quieted in an instant. I let out a harsh pant, and looked around wildly. The pounding was subsiding slowly, and it was easier to breath. My hands grasped onto the dirty sink as I pulled myself upwards. My own reflection stared back at me. I grazed my fingers over my cheeks and sighed out in relief. I stumbled out of the bathroom, and into Dean's warm chest.

"Woah, all hands on deck." Dean chuckled. "You all right?" Dean's brow furrowed in concern as I gazed back towards the bathroom.

"Yeah... Yeah, I just... Got my period." I lied smoothly. "First time since..."

"Ah, well... Yeah. Well, come on. Let's go get hammered." Dean suggested.

"That's the best idea I've ever heard." I sighed and followed after him.
