All Hell Breaks Loose Pt. 1 -- Cold Oak

"Lottie," I hear Dean bark as I rouse from my deep sleep. "What happened?"

I inhale sharply as I realize we were outside. I slowly sat up, groaning in annoyance. "I don't.... When did we get here?" I ask softly.

"Lottie, what are you talking about? We just took care of that Trickster." Dean explained.

I furrow my eyebrows before rubbing my eyes. "Trickster?" I kept drawing a blank. " What trickster, I thought we just exorcised Sam..." I breathed out.

Dean furrowed his eyebrows and carried me inside where he made sure I had my anti-possession charm on me. "Sam, wake up," Dean barked at his younger brother, who in turn gasped sharply as he sat up quickly. "Somethings wrong with Lottie, call Bobby," Dean ordered.

"Dean, what happened?" Sam asked as Dean splashed holy water on me.

Just as I open my mouth, Dean turns to his brother to answer. "She says she doesn't remember the past week, sound familiar?"

"I'm not possessed, Dean," I mention dryly. "Look, no binding like, no other symbols, and--" I stop myself as I gaze in the mirror. A new, intricate symbol had appeared on my sternum. Not a brand, like Sam had, but like a birth mark.

"That's a triquetra," Sam mentioned as he gazed at it from a kneeling position.

"What's it supposed to mean, Sam," Dean asked in annoyance.

"Well, it predates Christianity, but these three points," Sam mentions as he gestures to the three triangular points, "Represent three people coming together. And the circle around it, represents God's Love." Sam cocks his head. "But it's only been used in Pagan and Wiccan rituals-- the points meaning the Maiden, The Mother, and the Crone. The ever turning cycle of life, death, and rebirth."

"But why do I have it?" I ask. "I don't do witchcraft, I hunt them."

Sam shrugged before getting up. "I'm not sure. I'll so some research. As for the memory thing, if she's not reacting to the holy water or any type of exorcism-- Dean, she's not possessed."

"I really am, Dean," I hum softly. "Let's just hit the road-- look for a new case."

Dean sighed through his nose before starting to pack our duffel.

After working a case along route 99 involving a malicious spirit, and the spirit of a woman who had succumbed to his wrath. We set her spirit free after destroying the malicious spirit, and showing her that she was indeed, dead. We also hit a werewolf case where Sam ended up sleeping with the actual Werewolf. Which Dean and I found hilarious. I still had no recollection of what happened with this trickster Sam and Dean said we went up against with Bobby. We even hunted a ghost in Hollywood, where Dean ate all the snacks and gazed at all the eye candy he could while Sam and I actually worked, and the boys went to prison to hunt a ghost inside. Unfortunately, I wasn't going to get into a men's prison-- no matter how hard I tried. Dean got attacked by a Djinn, where he got sucked into a alternate universe where all his wishes had come true. Mary being alive, Sam going to university and marrying Jess, and being with me in our own small house. He didn't go into much detail about it, but when I asked about it, he clammed up and let a dreamy look to appear on his face for a long time. Then he'd shower me with so much affection, I'd get worried that he'd done something wrong.

We stopped for pie at a small cafe in the middle of nowhere. It would've been cute if it weren't so creepy. The sign said Sunnyvile Dinner, but I feel like even in the sun, it'd be creepy. "Hey, don't forget the extra onions this time, huh?" Dean mentioned as he handed Sam some cash.

"Dude, Lottie and I are the ones who's gonna have to ride in the car with your extra onions." Sam snapped.

"He's got a point, you know," I mention dryly. "Give me second, Sam, I'm coming in, too." I reach into the back and grab my hoodie before shrugging it on over my sports bra.

"Hey, see if they got any pie!" Dean barked adorably. Sam gave his brother an annoyed look before slamming the door shut. "Bring me some pie!" He barked again just as adorably.

"The man loves his pie, doesn't he?" I mention to Sam as I shoved my hands into my pockets.

"More like child," Sam retorted in annoyance.

We entered the diner, and a friendly looking waitress gave us a smile. "Hey, can we get three burgers, one with extra onions, and if at all possible, whatever pie you have on hand." I offer her a sweet smile just as a strange feeling buzzes in the air.

"Comin' right up, sweetie," She smiled before turning on her heel. I offer Sam a smirk before something strikes me in the back of the head, and I'm out like a light.

It's cold. I'm soaked through the thin material of my hoodie and yoga pants. My eyes creak open, and I gaze at the sky above as I continue to shiver. Sitting up slowly, I grimace at the abandoned town around me. I clear my throat and try sitting up as I try to stand. Blood covers my front, and I groan in pain. I lift my hoodie, and groan at the gaping stab wounds in my belly. I press my palm against it as the dim light glimmers from it.

"Sam!" I call out loudly, turning on my heel wildly. "Sam! Are you here?!"

"Lottie!" I hear him, but he's distant. I start towards his voice when I hear the ringing in my head again.

"Dammit," I gasp and lean on my knees. I can hear them clearly now. They're begging for help-- like they were being murdered. All of them shouting in my head. "Stop," I groan angrily as my vision starts to waver. My vision goes black, and I'm in a strange place. It's dark, and kind of misty. Hundreds of decrepit people surround me. All begging for peace. "I can't-- I can't help you!" My heart starts thundering wildly as they grab at me, tugging me in all directions. I feel the tugging, the desperation. My throat feels raw as I keep screaming for them to release me. "Enough!" I shriek in desperation, and a wave of golden, glimmering power bursts from my body. Every person around me suddenly disappears with groans of pleasure.

My eyes snap open and Sam's in front of me, trying to get my attention. "Lottie!" He barks at me. "What happened?"

"I'm not-- I'm not sure," I mention breathlessly. "Where are we?"

"I don't know. Uh, here--" Sam offered his jacket as he gazed down my front.

"Is that Andy?" I ask in confusion as the scrawny guy peers around Sam's shoulder. "Where's Dean?"

"I don't know," Sam sighs as he grips the bridge of his nose. The three of us jump at the sudden scream. "Come on," Sam urged to us, and we ran in the direction of the scream.

"Hello?!" I call out as we get closer.

"No! Help me!" The woman shrieks. It's coming from a locked shed.

"Okay, okay, I'm here--" Sam breathes as he presses his palms against the wood. "We're gonna get you out, all right? Just hold on a second!"

Sam looks around for something to open the lock, but I just grasp it, and it snaps with the force of my grasp. Sam gazed at me in confusion and shock as I whip open the door.  "Ava?"

"Oh, my god! Carlotta! Sam!" She cries. She collapses onto my chest and hugs me tightly while sobbing.

"So, I guess you guys know each other." Andy mentions softly.

"Yeah," Sam says.

"How did you, I mean, how did--" Ava stutters.

"Ava, have you been here the whole time?" Sam asks.

"What whole time? I just woke up in there a half an hour ago!" Ava explained wildly.

"Well, you've been gone for five months." Sam retorted. "We've been looking for you everywhere."

"Okay, that's impossible, 'cause I saw you two days ago." I furrowed my eyebrows at Ava's statement.

"No, honey, you didn't," I explain. "I'm sorry."

"But that makes no sense. It's... not..." She trails off before panicking. "Oh, my god! My Fiance, Brady! If I've been missing for that long, he must be freaking out!"

"Well," Sam trails off awkwardly.

She takes notice to Andy in confusion. "Hey," Andy waved his hand while in it's pocket. "Andy-- Also freaking out."

"Okay," Ava breathes. "What's happening?" She turns back to Sam.

"Well, I uh... I don't really know yet, but I know one thing. I know what the three of us have in common." Sam states as I purse my lips awkwardly.

"Hello? Anybody there?" A man shouts.

"Maybe more than three," I mention to Sam as I start towards the voice. "Hello?!" I call out as we get near the big, white house. "Hey!" A man dressed in army fatigues appears with another woman behind him. "Hey, you guys all right?"

"Think so," The man states warily.

"I'm Sam," Sam introduces himself.

"I'm Jake," Jake responds.

"Lily," The woman breathes.

"Are there any more of you?" Sam asks.

"No," Jake shook his head.

"How did we even get here?" Lily asks. "A minute ago, I was in San Diego."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I went to sleep last night in Afghanistan." Jake explained.

"I'm gonna take a wild guess that you two are twenty three?" I inquire. "Well, you all are," I state as I move away from the group. "You all have abilities."

"What?" Jake furrowed his eyebrows.

"It started a little over a year ago. You find you can do things you didn't know were possible." Sam explained. "I have visions. I see things before they happen."

"Yeah, me too," Ava states.

"And I can put thoughts into people's heads-- like, make them do stuff." Andy added. "Oh, but don't worry. I don't think it works on you guys. Oh, but get this-- um, I've been practicing, training my brain, like meditation, right? So now, it's not just thoughts that I can beam out, but images too-- like, anything I want. It's like, bam! People, they see it. This one guy I know-- total dick-- used it on him. Gay porn all hours of the day." Andy explained enthusiastically.

"Andy, not the time, but uh, thanks for the input," I mention in embarrassment.

"So, you go Simon Says give me your wallet, and they do?" Lily asks with a hostile tone. "You have visions? That's great. I'd kill for something like that."

"Lily, listen, it's okay," Sam mentions.

"No, it's not!" She snapped. "I touch people, their hearts stop. I can barely leave my house. My life's not exactly improved. So screw you. I just want to go home."

"And what, we don't?" Jake snaps.

Lily and Jake start fighting. "Hey, guys, come on--" Sam steps in. "Look, whether we like it or not, we're all here, and so we all have to deal with this."

"Who brought us here?" Andy asked.

"It's less of a who. It's more of a what," I mention.

"What does that mean?" Ava asks.

I hesitate for a moment before uncrossing my arms. "It's a demon."

Dean's POV

"This is it--" Bobby mentioned as he slapped a map over the hood of the Impala. "All Demonic Signs and Omens over the past month."

"Are you joking? There's nothing here." I snapped at him.

Bobby shrugged his shoulder as if it were obvious. "Exactly."

"Come on, there's gotta be something!" I retorted. "What about the normal, low-level stuff-- You know, exorcisms, that kind of thing?"

"That's what I'm telling ya," Bobby said. "It's completely quiet."

"How are we supposed to look for Sam and Lottie, close our eyes and point?" I snapped. My cellphone goes off in my pocket and I breathe out a ragged breath before answering it. "Ash, what do you got?"

Ash's voice breaks through the receiver. "Okay, listen. It's a big negatory on Sam and Lottie."

"Oh, come on, man. You got to give us something." I barked. "We're looking at a 3,000-mile hay stack here."

"Listen, Dean," Ash started. "I did find something." I whispers lowly.

"Well, what?" I asked.

"I can't talk over this line, Dean," Ash murmured.

"Come on, I don't have time got this!" I growled.

"Make time, okay? 'Cause this..." Ash stops talking to me quickly. "What's up? What's going on? Not only does this almost definitely help you find your brother and your girl, this is---" He lets out a breathless sigh. "It's huge. So get here, now." The line goes dead almost immediately.

I gaze down at my phone for a moment before the call screen disappears, and Lottie's satisfied expression covers the screen. "I guess we're going to the roadhouse," I mention. "Come on."  Turning over the engine, Bobby and I start the drive.

Carlotta's POV

"So, we're soldiers in a demon war to bring on the apocalypse?" Jake asks in disbelief.

"When you put it like that--" Sam starts.

"And we've been picked? Why us?" Jake asks.

"I'm not sure, okay? But look, I just know--"

"Sam," Ava starts. "I'm sorry. Psychics and spoon-bending is one thing, but demons?"

"Look, I know it sounds crazy." I snap at her.

"It doesn't just sound it." Jake snapped.

"I don't really care what you think!" Sam barked at him. "Look, if we're all together, that means its starting! And that we gotta--"

"The only thing I got to do is stay away from wack-jobs, okay?" Jake barked as he got into Sam's face. "I've heard enough, I'm better off on my own. FYI -- So are you."

"Jake, hold on--" Sam starts. "Jake!"

"I got him," I state to Sam as I start to follow after the solider. He goes into a house, and just as I step in, I see a spirit ready to tear him open. Grasping an iron bar from besides the furnace, I take a swing, and it disappears into a demonic flurry. "Just so you know," I mention. "That was a demon." I keep my grasp on the bar before stepping out. "And that was an Achiri-- a demon that disguises itself as a little girl." I explain softly after tossing Sam the metal poker.

"Still doesn't tell us where we are." Sam breathes. "Andy, you with us, or not." Sam asks.

Andy looked tense. "Give me a minute," He mentions stiffly. "I'm still working through Demons Are Real."

Back at the town center, I take a moment to look over the wounds that had been healing. I let out a hiss as I prod at the fleshy, pink tissue. "I've seen that bell before," I hear Sam mention. I turn my head towards him and raise an eyebrow. "I think I know where we are now-- Cold Oak, South Dakota. The town's so haunted, every single resident fled."

"Swell. Good to know we're somewhere so historical." Ava mentioned.

"Why in the world would that demon or whatever put us here?" Lily asked.

"I'm wondering the same thing," Sam mentioned.

Lily was silent for a moment. "You know what? It doesn't matter. Clearly, the only sane thing to do here, is get the hell out of dodge."

"Lily, hold on," I start. "The only way out is through miles of woods."

"Beats hanging out with Demons!" She retorted.

"Lily, we don't know what's going on yet." Sam stated. "We don't even know how many of them are out there."

"Yeah, he's right, we should--" Jake starts, but Lily cuts him off.

"Don't say we! I'm not part of we!" She shrieks. "I have nothing in common with any of you!"

"Okay, look-- I know--" Sam tries.

"You don't know anything!" Lily cries. "I to-- I accidentally touched my girlfriend."

Everyone went silent. "I'm sorry." Sam says after a beat.

Lily's lips quiver for a moment. "Whatever. I feel like I'm in a nightmare, and it just keeps getting worse and worse."

"I've lost people, too," Sam breathes softly. "I have a brother out there right now. He could be dead for all I know. We're all in bad shape, but I'm telling you, the best way out of this is to stick together."

Lily doesn't speak at first. "Fine." She says softly.

"Okay," I breathe out. "We're looking for iron, silver, salt-- any kind of weapon."

"Salt is a weapon?" Jake asks incredulously.

"It's a brave new world." I mention impishly as I step onto a porch that was across from the big white house.

"Hopefully, there's food in your world," Andy mentioned. "I'm freakin' starving."

"Shut it," I snap.
