The ultra beasts together each formed a blazing attack and sent them scurrying towards Ash and Pikachu.

"Eeeeeeek"

"Mercy!"

"Mommy"

Team rocket mumbled.

The icy air turning Ash's sweat cold and he felt that it wasn't exactly worth fighting anymore. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't defeat 5 ultra beasts, all empowered by Necrozma, who was no in an even more powerful form! Time is running out...

"Retreat" Shouted Ash, seeing no point on fighting.

"Hey wait, you can't run, what about us?" Asked team rocket together.

"Erghhhhhh, I only said retreat, not run!" Ash answered with a quivering voice. The aura that the ultra beasts were radiating were already making his skin itched.

"Pi pika pi!"

Pikachu suddenly pipped in, warning Ash that a ferocious attack was about to land on top of them. Ash dodge and the area where he had been standing was now a smoking crater.

Meanwhile, team rocket had decided to follow, after all, it was a simple choice: run or die! Well, that was hard to decide. Team rocket came sprinting to Ash as fast as possible, rapidly dodging rays of lights that an ultra beast was sending to them.

Greninja positioned defensively around Ash whilst Genesect took aim to an nearby ultra beast and fired a booming techno blast, it didn't do much damage as the ultra beast seemed unharmed, but it was able to lend a helping hand and cause a distraction.

"Go Charizard, Sceptile, I chose you!" Shouted Ash, "you wanna do a 5 v 5 battle?" He stubbornly challenged the ultra beasts.

Of course, Ash was no match for the ultra beasts. Whenever Ash launched an attack, they were either let there bodies harmlessly absorb it since their bodies were now covered in bright light that Necrozma had planted once, or reflect them back. Whenever Ash attack the portals, an ultra beast would come and block the attack and even if he had managed to damage the ultra beast by eg. making a tree crash on their heads, they would emerge unharmed, or maybe they were harmed but the bright aura of Necrozma immediately healed them.

When Charizard prepared a fire blast, an ultra beast did a very nasty trick and attack Charizard from behind, catching it off guard. It was a very accurate hit that was also a critical hit and Charizard almost immediately fainted afterwards. After that, Ash decided that the'd better have their back against a wall or something so they were less likely to be caught off guard again. Charizard healed up though it was still too tired to fight and Ash had to return it to the poke ball to rest.

Greninja was able to use surf to cover the whole area with water and then freeze the water with ice beam so that it was able to ice skate, which in some way, was much quicker than running or walking.

Sceptile tried to use leaf storm, and just as it would seem that it would catch all the ultra beasts of guard (they were distracted by Greninja, Pikachu, and Genesect), one of them turned around and blew the leafs away with a gentle blow!

Team rocket wasn't helping either. Meowth was fighting bewear and Jessie and James were arguing with each other as well!

At that moment, it happened. Team rocket sensed it too, Ash looked up and saw it too. All the ultra beasts suddenly ignited and seemed even stronger. Meanwhile, Ash's skin was itching as much as ever now that there was a creature shrouded so much in light that was looking directly from the biggest portal.

"Lightttttt" it roared.

Necrozma was back! And this time, it was going to try to obtain full form once more!

Yet, it first turned to Ash and team rocket, a blast of burning light appeared in its mouth, a sphere no bigger than a chair, might as well destroy a whole island!

"Help"

"We're doomed"

Jessie and James said, not arguing anymore. They were now huddled together, preparing for the worst.

Ash was in a pretty similar position.

It blew. CRANK! Like a thousand metals being scrunched all at once, the attack was realised.

Closer and closer, it would come, until it would finally appear at earths surface and cause destruction beyond imagination.

Just joking, it wouldn't cause that much damage. Still, it would be a lot.

CRASH!

Ash looked up, he could see the dark blue skies, the smell of smoke filled his nose.

"Wait, am I dead?" He asked

Then he saw how lucky he had been. The ocean around his was bubbling like magma, he could still feel it now, the attack getting deeper and deeper into the earth's surface. It must have slipped past Ash by a few meters and landed in the ocean. Except, he would have never imagined how much worse the situation was than he thought for soon, the attack would penetrate the earth and...

Just as Necrozma prepared another pulse, it getting as big as ever, 4 flashes of light appeared.

One green, one yellow, one blue, and one... pinkish.

In front of Ash, his Pokemon pals, and team rocket appeared 4 figures: tapu kok, tapu bulu, tapu lele, and tapu fini!

"Wow" Said Ash in amazement.

"What are they?" Asked Jessie.

Necrozma fired the pulse.

The tapus immediately formed in a diamond sort of shape, and then firing four rays of dazzling light into the middle, forming a... net! The pulse hit the net and for a second, it continued.

"Had the net not worked?" Asked Ash in alarm.

His question was answer. The pulse bounced back towards Necrozma just like as if it seemed that the net couldn't hold any longer and hit the lord of light directly in the face.

"Lighttttttt" it roared in anger.

The ultra beasts suddenly flowed red, as if sensing their master's rage, and all attacked the tapus at once!

"Oh no! Let's give them a hand!" Shouted Ash as Greninja fired rapid water shrunken, pikachu fired a thunder bolt, and sceptile used leaf storm.

The attacks Ash's pokemon were easily dodged by the ultra beasts though they were still able to cause a distraction.

This allowed tapu koko hit the ultra beast nearest to it with a powerful nature madness.

For a second, Ash thought that the ultra beast had fainted and was falling down from the sky! Then he realised that it had managed to catch itself and was more enraged than ever! The ultra beast growled in anger as the red aura around it restored its strength. Ash knew that the tapus at best, could only cause a distraction like he and his Pokemon just did. There was no way that they could defeat the beasts.

"Attack the portal, weaken Necrozma and keep it occupied" Said Ash, trying not to be too harsh.

Pikachu uses electro ball, Greninja used ice beam, Genesect used bug buzz, and Sceptile used frenzy plant. Frenzy plant, despite not being able to reach the portal and damage it, was able to shield Ash from a couple of attacks that rebounded from the ultra beasts, who seemed to easily block one of the tapu's attack!

The portal got weaker... yet Necrozma let out streams of white light from its mane and the portal was completely healed, not even a dent from pikachu' thunderbolt could be found!

"Dam it!" Shouted Ash. "Team rocket, how able you help out as well?"

"No thanks" mumbled James lazily.

"Yeah, no thanks" Said Jessie.

Ash cursed under his breath, it seemed like as if he would have to do this all by himself.

These thoughts didn't stay in his head for long though, for a nearby tree was set on fire and was collapsing towards Ash's direction. He dodged just before he got turned into one of those 2D characters you see on these cartoons.

Pikachu, however, wasn't so lucky and got scratched by a few branches that had came down with the tree!

"Oh no, Pikachu!" Shouted Ash.

"Pi" it said weakly as it managed to stand up.

At the same moment though, a ferocious flamethrower from one of the ultra beasts were coming Ash's way.

Ash was so worried about pikachu that he hadn't saw it yet!

"PikACHUUUUUU" pikachu saw the attacks and didn't even think before making his sacrifice.

It jumped in front of Ash, blocking the flames from burning Ash. Unfortunately, pikachu was gravely injured and given a burn from that attack!

"Pikachu, NOOOOOOOO" Shouted Ash.

Pikachu just stared at Ash sadly, as if trying to say something.

"Pikachu, not now!" Cried Ash.

Pikachu gave one final sad look before collapsing though it still haven't fainted.

Ash did understand what Pikachu was trying to say though.

"Greninja, Genesect, Sceptile, you must honour Pikachu by fighting to the best of your ability!" Encouraged Ash as he scooped Pikachu up in his hands and used a burn heal and potion as he had ran out of super and hyper potions. In fact, that potion was the last one he had left!

Pikachu was able to stand up, though it looked half asleep. Ash allowed it to rest on a nearby rock.

Luckily, Charizard seemed fresh and ready. Ash took it out of the poke ball and it immediately fired a jet of flames from its nostrils to show it was more ready than ever.

"I am sure you won't fail me, Charizard" Said Ash.
