In the realm of nightmares...
"Giratina, what do you want?" Ash asked.
The shadowy pokemon did not directly respond, but instead simply turned swam swiftly through the void, hinting for Ash to follow it.
Ash snowed slowly, as if understanding what the pokemon wanted. Even though he was still confused, he still knew he had no choice but to do so. Firstly, it was unlikely they stood a chance against Giratina if they fought it in his own realm and secondary, it appeared as if the shadow pokemon meant no harm;.
However, Ash still had no plans on how to find Gladion, who he was unsure of where he was and also whether it was safe to leave some of his friends behind like some Pokemon just in case it was a trap.
In the end, Ash decided to leave Serena on her own, but then realised that she was very vulnerable to any attack and left Pikachu with her to guard her, commanding the yellow mouse pokemon to protect her as well as giving it a series of instructions in case something bad happens!
At this point, Giratina was already a long way of and Ash could not even see a black tentacle or smoke any where in the distance. Fortunately, Giratina seemed to have realised that it had lost Ash and teleported back to where he was. This time, Ash followed the shadow pokemon, but still glanced one final look at his pokemon friend and Serena, just to make sure that they were ok.
It seemed out of a matter of good will to leave Serena and Pikachu behind as a way to protect them in case of any unfortunate situations that might occur. However, Necrozma's influence seemed still to be lingering on her, as she simply could not bare to look at Ash.
She , sadly took this as another brutal beating to herself mentally, thinking that Ash had once again betrayed her, left her there to be used as a slave or perhaps simply implying he didn't care about her and that Pikachu was used as a guard to make sure she didn't escape. This saddened her even more, and despite still staying first, in her heart, she could already feel herself melting away like a puddle of chocolate.
Meanwhile, Ash had followed Giratina to the edge of a ledge, in which the shadow pokemon had decided to fly Ash over, though Ash couldn't help but to wonder why Giratina wouldn't teleport Ash over instead to their final destination.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of him and he asked the looming pokemon why.
"Giratina, wouldn't it be easier if you know: you could teleport us to the place where we are going? Ash asked. He couldn't help to notice that the pokemon seemed much weaker then usual though, and that's strange because he was sure that the pokemon could only get stronger not weaker.
Giratina did not respond, which Ash thought was weird. It was only then that he noticed the Giratina was struggling to even keep afloat, and was concentrating on keeping all its energy to help power it through the air.
After about 50 minutes, Giratina finally landed on a giant piece of rock that led way to a stony castle like structure which Ash presumed was its home. What Ash had also noticed was that the place w@s completely silent, as usual but a giant buzzing sound still seemed to emit from... nothing. And then Ash realised it. The buzzing sound was in his head, and he couldn't get it out, and even though the place was quiet, the buzzing sound still existed because it was more of attacking yourself mentally and causing mental distress instead. The sound was certainly driving Ash crazy, and zapping him of all his energy. He couldn't help but to pity Giratina, who had to deal with this all day and night, though there was really no difference in the void.
However, what Ash didn't notice that Giratina did was that in fact, the place they were taken to was only about 100m in a straight line to their starting position, but there were, if you could see it, which a normal mortal like Ash couldn't, flickering lights in between, the lights that zapped the energy of not only Giratina, but the realm itself, and the realm was Giratina. Because Giratina was essentially the void shaped in meticulous ways to form a floating resemblance of a Pokemon!
However, since Giratina had to circle the entire perimeter of lights which was actually quite large, the time taken was actually double or even quadripled, and the more Giratina flew, the more energy was taken from it.
In the meantime, in the over world, the traitors and a bunch of other civilians had banded up togather to listen to the emergency radio in the town hall building, where a news presenter was talking about similar things that local scientists claim to have discovered.
Despite the fact that these lights were hidden from human view, scientists were able to detect that there was abnormal energy coming in and out of the dimension, and was able to feel that something was not right. Even they were able to find that something was not right at all. Using the latest technology, they were able to detect holes that seemed to connect multiple dimensions that were slowly sucking in the energy that was in the human dimension. It was like detecting black holes, you know it's there but you can't exactly see it.
These mysterious warp energy holes have been their for a long time, but had only gotten stronger in the past few months, providing not only a good source of energy for Necrozma but also a good entrance into the over world!
At this moment, in the shadow dimension, things weren't going on so well either. It was essentially a reflection of the over world, a mirror image, and so all the holes in the over world were replicated in the shadow dimension as well, though the sense of space and time wasn't very accurate in the dimension, which was clearly taken advantage of as multiple holes could easily be sprawled from one.
Giratina sensed this, and knew that not only were the holes slowly zapping light energy and as well as well, life energy for Necrozma, but also allowing a great entrance and a way to spy on civilisation in any place or time.
After a few moments, Giratina decided it had no choice. Even if Necrozma was listening, it probably didn't care that much anyways.
With a giant leap, the pokemon had flung Ash and itself onto, and over into the stoney structure that Ash presumed was its home. Normally, debris was pretty normal in the shadow dimension, but since, the dimension was in danger of an invasion any second, and could potentially collapse after too much energy has leaked, it was better to have a place where you could shelter as a bunker. Even if the whole dimension collapsed or got invaded, at least the shadow pokemon was sure it could generate enough energy to escape, using the small fortress it had built as cover.
And as for... well Giratina didn't exactly mean to welcome any guests at this time, and had already fought multiple mythical pokemon and legendary just to keep them out because they were sense something wasnt right and wanted a quick escape or backup route just in case.
Ash, however was mo re confused then ever. He had thought that the legendary Pokemon had teleported him here for a job or something similar as they always intended when they summon normal humans to meet them...
However, since Ash came, it was of course still a chance that he could be used for something, and it was certainly better if the world was still under Giratina control not Necrozma's, preferably if the over world was to. However, it was not as easily said then done.
As the two walked slowly into the stone fortress, Ash noticed that the place was much larger then first thought. Inside included a full supply of defense weapons and also a stash of rocks and stones, blocking out a corner of the house. Ash has intended to go over and see what was happening, but was held back.
The pair slowly moved on, Giratina in a good mood to show of its new fortress. Eventually, they reached a room where Ash presumed was its living room or some sort of room where guest were meant to be taken to.
It was only then that he had realised that the whole world seemed to be fading away... Being a living shadow inside its own realm, the shadow pokemon on realised this as well.
It slowly peaked out side of a nearby crack which Ash swore was not there when he had came in and shook its head.
"What's wrong?" Ash asked urgently.
To his shock, the legendary Pokemon actually replied.
"Another one..." it simply replied, or at least that was it was meant to sound like in human language.
"Another what?" Asked Ash, feeling the tension was rising.
At the same time, in the Pain complex, Necrozma was not very happy. He had caught Gladion and was slowly gaining more energy minute by minute. However, that stupid kid had somehow managed to filter an unbalance of power between the realms, which meant that the over world had been fully cleared of any power sucking energy for at least a few hours, though the warp energy holes were still there, and the main cause of concern had to be in the shadow dimension, mainly because Necrozma needed a balance of over world energy as well as some shadow energy to succeed in its final mission, and perhaps due to this it had been delayed for a couple of days.
It had also killed several scientists at the scene where Ash had escape, and restrained Groudon back into its cell. Somehow the unbalance of warp energy between the dimensions Necrozma was using as its providers of energy had sought the ability for the shadow dimension to overlap with the over world one, this time in multiple ways. Previously, Ash should have died, but somehow it was lucky enough for the gateway of the shadow dimension to be directly under the crack Groudon had create. It regarded this with suspicion, and doubted whether Groudon was still usable or whether it was somehow placed as a spy. It knew this was unlikely though, this was not the case with such a bad tempered pokemon like a Groudon.
At least it had caught that boy though. Necrozma simply registered him as a number, 12334334, which it found was a better way of memorising humans and forcing them to do its bidding whilst taking over the world then having to memerise what an object is called. It chose to spend this sort of time ravaging through the warp dimension in search of way light to consume instead. The only thing that stopped it from winning straight away was that it needed the two dreaded altars, which was in the over world. However, the unbalance of power could potentially mean that a place in the shadow dimension might do as well. It smiled. It had came up with a plan, to destroy Ash and his pals for all. It was going to destroy the regiments of human society.
With Ash however, things were going even worst.
"The end has come" whispered Giratina, with a rough translation into human language. The impending doom is upon us. The energy unbalance is to much. The gateways are now open...
