Embarrassed
"What's an embarrassment?"
"Have you ever accidentally blurted out that you like someone in front of them? That's what."
He grabbed her hand, making Mishil stare at Namjoon's figure with hurt eyes. Not that Namjoon saw them, but he knew the effect of his words on her. The way the whole body stiffened gave the fact away. He thought she was gonna leave him hanging in here but instead, she lined her whole arm, shoulder to wrist, and touched Namjoon's skin, trying to bring him comfort.
Namjoon saw how uncomfortably her palm was hanging off, trying not to brush against his.
Namjoon grabbed his soulmate's hand and laced their fingers, making the girl snap her head to look at him with wide eyes.
"You were uncomfortable. You need it more than me." Namjoon said, avoiding eye contact. "Thanks for caring," Mishil whispered, her voice numb. Void of any emotions.
When they both laid back on the conjoined beds, she turned to her side and placed her palm under her cheeks. Namjoon followed, happy that he could convey that he wasn't happy about Mishil letting go of her family just like that. What he didn't know was what he exactly had done.
||Next Morning||
"Say ah!" Soo-Ah held the spoon at Mishil's lips. "If you say so,!" Mishil pouted, before reluctantly letting Soo-Ah feed her the soup.
She and Namjoon's conditions were improving with each passing hour. Though she was still a bit weaker the doctors remained optimistic. During their latest visits, they allowed the two soulmates to start eating light food, here were Hobi and Soo-Ah sitting by the bed.
While Hobi watched Namjoon down the soup, Soo-Ah fed the girl, who hadn't regained enough strength in her right hand to feed herself. Once the soulmates were fed, Soo-Ah brought out a bag.
"Here! I got you a phone." She handed Mishil the store crisp bag. "Thanks! You used my card, didn't you?" Mishil asked, taking the box out of the bag. It looked quite expensive.
"Doesn't matter. Just open it and tell me if you like the colour." Soo-Ah said, trying to grab the box from Mishil's hand. She couldn't pry her best friend's fingers from the box.
"Yes or no, Soo," Mishil asked, looking straight at her best friend. "Okay! Cut the stare. I paid for it. Why does it matter? It's just a phone. Let it be." Soo-Ah said, shrugging.
"Just a phone? This costs way too much! Dude, seriously!" Mishil said, sighing. "I'm paying you back for this," Mishil announced, shrugging. "Oh hell no!" Soo-Ah yelped, shaking her head. "Dude, this costs a lot. I can't just accept it. It's not I'm bothering you any less. I can't take this Soo-Ah." Mishil's voice grew smaller.
"Look I was gonna buy you this even if you hadn't chucked the old one out of the window. And, what are you on about? I'm your family Mishil! I should be at least allowed to do this for you. Would you refuse if Auntie had..." Soo-Ah abruptly halted at her words, when Mishil's face fell at the mention of her mum.
"What I'm saying is I just wanted to get this for you. Okay! Now shut up and take it." Soo-Ah smiled, rubbing Mishil's arm. She sighed before looking up at Soo-Ah with glassy eyes and managed a smile, which didn't go unnoticed by either Hoseok or Namjoon.
"Fine! You win!" Mishil smiled, making Soo-Ah grin lazily and then shoved the box at her hand. "Unbox this please." She smiled.
"Seems like you're more excited than I am." Mishil giggled, not knowing what exactly she had ended up doing.
Namjoon was talking to Hoseok about the upcoming concert while also listening to the girls' playful exchange from time to time. They talked, bickered, and laughed like they were sisters than best friends. Things flowed between them easily.
When Soo-Ah had mentioned Mishil's mother, though Namjoon was not aware of why his ribs tightened he felt a sinking feeling in his stomach. When he looked sideways along with Hobi, he saw his soulmate on the verge of tears and something inside him flipped.
He had almost lifted his hand to wipe away the tears but then, he remembered that it was not probably appropriate. So, he flummoxed. But when Mishil had giggled, he felt like his insides lurching while every cell of his body almost went haywire!
What was that sound? It was just a girl giggling. Why did he feel the sudden lightness in his heart? What Namjoon forgot was it wasn't just any girl. This was his soulmate who had made this happen.
When Mishil finally retrieved the phone from the box, her eyes went wide. The phone was a shimmery shade of dark blue. Just the shade she liked.
"Wow!!" She exclaimed, holding the phone in her hand, face bright with apprehension. A face that made Namjoon's heart do mini backflips. Why? He had zero clues. "I thought of you when I saw this. Your type." Soo-Ah smiled, satisfied at her best friend's reaction. "Is that so?" Hoseok asked, smiling brightly.
"Yeah! Mishil loves dark colours. Dark Blue, Inky Blue, Deep Purple, Black; you name it. It kinda suits her, to be frank." Soo-Ah answered. "Why so?" Namjoon asked, not wanting to be left out of the conversation and also, curious about his soulmate. "Just because she's like those colours. Basic and simple but irreplaceable." Soo-Ah said, stunning the boys.
"Will you stop talking as if I'm not here?" Mishil sighed, shaking her head at her best friend. "Oh my dear best friend, I did not see you there?" Soo-Ah faked surprise, making the boys chuckle silently. "Oh, such a pity!" Mishil cooed, making the boys grin with amusement.
By the looks of it, they were a very amusing and strong duo, All this while, Mishil was tapping away on her phone, setting up the device for the days to come. She swiped past her photos, stopping at a particular one before smiling down at it and doing what she needed to do with it.
Kim Mishil was sitting on a couch, eyes staring out of the window while her earphones were plugged in, her favourite playlist playing while she thought about her life now.
The reality suddenly hit her, she wasn't just Mishil anymore. She was Kim Mishil, Kim Namjoon's soulmate. Someone who needs to be alive to keep him alive. Someone who can help him live through every single day.
Her life was gonna very differently from what it used to be. And, she didn't know how to get past the 'awkward' stage with her soulmate, who seemed to already have a mental image of her as an 'emotionless bitch' in his head.
If I'm ruining you right now
I'm sorry but
You can't live without me
She smirked to herself at the situation. Yes, someone was ruining her. She was ruining someone. But they couldn't live without each other, literally. She was slightly moving her head to the beat of the song that she loved so much when she barely heard a voice over the music.
"You shouldn't be listening to music at such a high volume. It might hurt your ears." Mishil slightly flinched, whirling to her side, her eyes widening at the presence beside her. The presence, the aura, and the smell of the fruity scent mixed with the smell of sweat; it was unfamiliar yet so familiar. Mishil, though her heart was banging against her chest, offered a sweet smile at the gorgeous man in front of her.
Jimin stared at the leader's soulmate. She was nothing special among all the girls he'd seen. But she had something in her. That made Jimin want to talk to her first. When he came back from the lounge after talking to all of the boys about the upcoming concert, he saw the leader's soulmate. The girl was almost half dead the first time he'd seen her. No! That was not the first time.
He'd seen her at the concert. Shouting and singing, while grooving to the music. But at that moment, he had thousands of more fans to look at and one ARMY couldn't have his undivided attention. But the moment, Sora had walked in with a stretcher carrying the almost pale white girl, Jimin couldn't help but get flashbacks about the cheerful and happy girl he'd seen just hours ago at the concert.
"Oh.... uh...yeah! Sure!" Mishil yanked the earphones off and placed her full attention on the man whom she deemed to be the most beautiful man she'd ever seen.
"How do you feel now?" Jimin asked, looking at her with a soft smile on his face. "Better. Quite better." Mishil smiled, her heart banging at her ribs with them on her chest.
Someone whose fluidity and dancing made her feel like she moved like a rock. Mishil unconsciously smiled remembering the countless occasions when she almost felt like her heart was gonna burst while watching some Jimin edits or FMVs.
"You got all of us scared by your state." Jimin smiled, and Mishil could swear angels had begun to sing in her mind. "Thank God, you're all right."
"Was I that bad? Even Jin-ssi and Hoseok-ssi seemed scared." Mishil asked, still confused. Surely she couldn't be that bad!
"Girl, you were almost deadly pale. I hope you don't mind but you looked like you were a character from the 'Twilight Saga'. You gave us all a real fright." Jimin said, laughing quietly.
She smiled, looked down, and said, "I'm sorry for that. Really! If I knew I was bonded before, I wouldn't have been too late. Sorry for worrying you all." Jimin laughed and shook his head. "I'm just glad that you're here with Joon Hyung. We were all so shocked when we saw he bonded. Thanks for being there."
The way Jimin talked was so easy. Jimin was more of a reserved person but he'd seen how the girl had been stressing over something from time to time. And, it seemed that this stress was taking a toll on her already fragile body even more.
And he didn't want Namjoon's soulmate to be any more worn out than she already is. And, of course, was feeling lonely since her best friend was out at her work. That's why Jimin approached her. To make her feel more comfortable and happy.
"So, Pied Piper huh?" Jimin looked at her phone. "You an ARMY?" She shyly nodded. In the BTS concert. Being flustered around any of the members and listening to their songs. If she said she was not, that would be lying and she wanted to come clean and truthful to all of the members.
"REALLY?!?" came a shout from the hall. Taehyung and Jungkook were there. The youngest two jogged over and sat. Taehyung beside Mishil while Jungkook shyly sat beside Jimin. She just smiled at the shyness of Jungkook and the enthusiastic adorable face of Taehyung.
"If so then you know me. I don't need to tell you my name. Now tell me your name, Namjoon Hyung's soulmate." Taehyung said, holding his hand out for a handshake. Mishil smiled before shaking the man's hand and saying "Nice to meet you Taehyung-ssi. I'm Mishil."
Taehyung gifted her an adorable boxy smile that she'd heard so much about. From up close, it looked even more adorable and Mishil couldn't help but internally coo.
"Since when have you been an ARMY..." Mishil was startled at the maknae's shy voice. For obvious reasons, she knew that Jungkook was the shyest and it took the longest time before he opened up to someone. So, the simple effort of initiating a conversation with her from the maknae was greatly appreciated. " I think around the time you guys released Love Yourself: Her. It was amazing!" Mishil explained, smiling.
"Really? Then tell us something." Taehyung looked at her with a mischievous smile. "Who's your bias?" Jimin laughed, Jungkook smiled and it seemed as though all the blood in Mishil's body rushed to her cheeks as she bit down a nervous smile. "Yah! What are you doing to Mishil?" Jin shouted, walking into the room with the rap line following closely behind him.
Namjoon was the last to enter and he felt a very weird feeling stir in the depths of his stomach when he saw his soulmate sitting between Jimin and Taehyung, with her cheeks fiery red.
Strange! When Namjoon sat with her, there was at least an arm's length of space between them. But, with the younger ones? Jimin's hips were almost brushing against her legs. Why was she so shy when it came to Namjoon?
"Nothing Hyung! We just asked Mishil a very important question." Jungkook smiled, looking back at the flustered girl. "And, what might that question be that made the girl this red?" Jin asked, tilting his head. "Mishil here, just told us that she's been an ARMY since Love Yourself: Her era and we wanted to know who her bias is."
Taehyung's question perked up Namjoon's ears. That was an important question.
"She'll answer but first get up and make room for Namjoon-ah!" Hoseok smiled, ushering Jimin off the couch while Namjoon took his seat beside his soulmate, Mishil silently overlapping her arm with his. They were touching from arm to fingertip.
Namjoon was highly irritated by the proximity of his soulmate with Jimin. The shift of her attitude when Jimin got up also caught his attention. Around Jimin, she was happy and easy-flowing. As soon as Namjoon sat, with his thigh meeting hers, her whole body stiffened. As though she was still nervous. Afraid.
As much as Namjoon wanted to grab her hand possessively and tell her who's soulmate was, he had to know his boundaries. "Even I'm curious. Who's your Bias, Mishil?" Jin said as he seated himself on the couch in front of them.

"Does it matter?" Mishil said, in a soft tone, wanting to get out of this awkward situation. "Oh, it does!" Yoongi gave her a sly smile.
"I can't say. It's too embarrassing!" Mishil weakly protested, not wanting to reveal ."Okay! We won't force you if you don't want to say it. Why not instead of that you play '20 questions with us?" Jimin asked, smirking slightly.
"I think I might end up regretting this but let's play."Mishil smiled, agreeing. "Your favourite Song?" Jimin started easy as the boys stared at the two like it was a game of rock-papers-scissors instead of 20 questions. Everyone was interested in the soulmate.
"Fake Love as of now." Mishil blushed softly, not wanting to come off as such a fangirl but who dared to deny Fake Love?
"Glad you liked it," Yoongi said, smiling softly. "Favorite colour?" "Purple, Dark Blue, White and Black." "Favorite rap track?" Now, the rap line shifted in their seats. "Outro: Tear, Cypher part 4." "A woman of taste we have!" Taehyung cheered, high-fiving Mishil, instantly loosening her up.
"I'd love to hear your voice in a Cypher though!" Oh boy, she said it! Taehyung jumped up and looked at Yoongi. "SEE! EVEN ARMIES WANT IT! WHY WON'T YOU LET ME FEATURE IN A CYPHER, HYUNG!??" He whined like a kid, his mouth a pout.
Yoongi and Hoseok laughed. "You can feature in a Cypher Tae..." Hoseok paused to look at Jimin, "...when Jiminie grows taller!" "AHHH HYUNG!!!!!" Jimin protested, making laughter ring through the halls.
Namjoon looked at his soulmate, laughing and watching his boys with such adoration and love. "Favorite Solo?" Jimin moved on, still pouting "Ayyyy! That's hard to choose. But honestly, all of your solo songs from the Wings album." Their eyes went wide!
"Even Begin?" Jungkook asked, his doe eyes widening. "Especially Begin. I felt like the lyrics spoke to every other ARMY out there and the song perfectly conveyed how much you love your Hyungs!" Mishil's words had an impact on Jungkook. His cheeks flushed and he diverted his gaze. "Thank you," He said, softly. He was still very shy.
"Okay, we are getting off track in here. Mishil, your favourite Western artist?" Jimin interjected, looking back at Mishil. "Charlie Puth, Taylor Swift and Chase Atlantic, " "Favorite Food?" "Pasta, Korean Fried Chicken."
"Do you have any hobbies?" "Yes, I do have some. Reading, Writing, listening to music, that's it. I'm a pretty introverted person."
"You write?" "Not professionally but I do have a thing for creative writing and reading."
"In that case, your favourite book?" Jimin's eyes now shone with a different kind of admiration for the girl. "The Fault in Our Stars, Everything Everything, The Book Thief, Kafka on the Shore....I'll stop here! There are way too many." "She's a lot like you, Namjoon Hyung, like an introverted version of you," Jungkook whispered to Namjoon. He nodded, his eyes fixated on his soulmate.
"You read a lot! Let's see, favourite actor?" " Uhmmm.... Park Hyungsik, Seo In Guk, Lee Dong Wook, Lee Jong Suk, Ji Chang Wook...you want me to go on?"
"I feel like we'll be here all night if you do but wow! Mishil, you have an eye for handsome people! Favourite Drama?" "Goblin, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Hwarang, W-Two Worlds. The list's too long."
"Ahhh, an all-time favourite song of ours? "Hmm... that's difficult. Maybe Blood Sweat and Tears." Mishil blushed and so did the boys, throwing back to their rookie years.
"Be honest now! Who's the cutest?" This question made Mishil's eyes turn wide. "This is not fair! Umm...you all are but Yoongi the most." She said, smiling softly.
"Waah... Yoongi Hyung is always the cutest. I need to get my charms up!" Taehyung huffed, nodding to himself. "You don't need to! ARMYs will love you just the same.
"Singing or Dancing, Mishil?" "Signing. I can't dance to save my life." She gave out a shy giggle. "I'll teach you!" Hoseok announced, making her smile. "It'll be an honour." Mishil giggled.
"Hyung, you're interrupting us!" Jimin whined, making everyone laugh. "Sorry, Jimin-ah!" Hoseok sat back.
"Rap Line or Vocal Line?" Everyone wanted to know this answer. "I'm sorry but I am not choosing. You all are equally amazing." All 7 of their shoulders collectively sagged. Why was it so hard? "Fine!! Chocolate or Ice-Cream?" Jimin asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"You do have one liking for putting me on the spot, Jimin-ssi" That earned a giggle from Jungkook. "But, chocolate all the way!"
"Jungkookie or TaeTae?" "I WILL NOT CHOOSE BETWEEN THEM!" Mishil announced, dramatically. "Well, neither can we! Both of them are equally bothersome!" Hoseok laughed. "HYUNG!!!" Jungkook and Taehyung protested.
"BT21 bias?" Jimin laughed at the playful atmosphere. "Bold of you to assume I can choose between those cuties. All of them."
"Awww, I thought it would be Chimmy! Favourite vocal line song?" "Dimple."
"Golden Maknae or Golden Hyung?" "Both~" "Who's your Bias?" "Namjoon...I OPP-!"
Mishil slapped her hand over her mouth but it was all said and done. While Jimin burst out laughing. His trick had worked. Jin and Hoseok exploded with laughter soon after Jungkook and Taehyung stared at Mishil for a few seconds and then broke off laughing while Jimin's fits of laughter threw him off the couch and Yoongi softly smiled at the two very flustered soulmates sitting side by side.
Namjoon's thoughts: 'I'm her Bias?'
Hello Babies!
First of all, I'm extremely sorry for not updating for so long, and honestly, I was too busy!
My O levels are approaching next year and though, it is still now unsure if the exams will be held or not, my momma bear is extremely tensed.
So, to keep her off my hair, I have to show her that I study regularly. Writer's block is killing me!
But yeah! I managed to update.
