Day of the Festival....

It was the day of the festival at the school and everyone was getting ready for it by setting up different booths.

Kotonoha ended up being tasked with one herself and Flukey helped her with it since he had nothing better to do and of course she was grateful for his help.

Throughout the whole day, there was no sign of Makoto and/or Sekai though Flukey and Kotonoha weren't on the lookout for them.

Eventually, the couple finished their booth.

Flukey: And done.

Kotonoha: Thanks for the help hon. I don't think I would've got it done as fast on my own.

Flukey: You're welcome. So since we still got some time before the festival starts you wanna hang out?

Kotonoha: I'd love to.

Taking her hand in Flukey's, he led her to a spot where they can spend time together in peace.

Makoto and Sekai....

After Makoto and Sekai finished their own booth, they next did some baking together with Makoto failing at the baking and Sekai having to pick up the slack.

Safe to say, the baking was a bit of a disaster but the couple didn't let it stop them from enjoying themselves. 

Though things would take a really unexpected turn when Makoto's childhood friend Katou Otome arrived on the scene. 

For Makoto, this was a little awkward for him since he and Katou don't really talk as much as they used to if not at all. And it mostly stemmed from the fact that just like Sekai and Kotonoha at one point, she has strong feelings for him but due to her tsundere nature and Makoto's obliviousness, she never had a chance with Makoto.

Until now. 

Makoto: Oh uh.....hey Katou. How are you? 

Katou: I've been....okay, to say the least. Hey Makoto, can I talk to you in....private?

Katou's cheeks started to turn red and it make Makoto a little uneasy and Sekai had an uneasy feeling herself.

Sekai: And what exactly do you need to talk to Makoto for?

She was subconsciously skeptical of Katou and her intentions with Makoto. A testament to what Flukey told her the day she broke up with him. 

Sensing Sekai's skepticism, Katou immediately assured her. 

Katou: I-It's nothing bad I promise! I just wanna talk to Makoto that's all. 

Sekai: Hmm fine. I'll see you later then Makoto. 

Makoto: Uh sure babe. You too. 

With that, Katou and Makoto left Sekai to go talk in private but what Sekai didn't notice was that Katou held Makoto's hand as they left. 

Flukey and Kotonoha....

Flukey and Kotonoha were sitting on a bench together and enjoying each other's company, not paying any attention to the hustle and bustle happening around them. 

Kotonoha: Mmm~. This is nice~. I could stay like this all day~.

Flukey: Me too. To be honest I don't really care much for the festival. But since they're making you attend I will too. 

Kotonoha: Thanks Flukey. You being there with me will make things more bearable. 

As Flukey and Kotonoha continued to enjoy the moment, suddenly someone close by called to them.

???: Well well well. So this is where you lovebirds have been. 

Flukey and Kotonoha looked to see that it was Yuuki Ashikaga. 

Flukey smiled as he got up and walked over to Yuuki and shared a brotherly hug with him. 

Flukey: Hey Yuuki. Been a while. How ya been buddy?

Yuuki: I've been alright. Sorry if I'm a little late to the gossip but I'm sorry to hear what happened between you and Sekai. I really thought she was the one for you. 

Flukey: I thought so too. But it's all good now. I'm with Kotonoha now. 

Yuuki: Well as long as she makes you happy. 

Kotonoha: Oh trust me. I do~.

Yuuki: Oh by the way I saw Katou with Makoto earlier and she was holding his hand. I don't understand relationships all that much but I don't think it's a good idea for a girl that's not Makoto's girlfriend to be holding his hand. 

Flukey: Hmm. That is.....mildly concerning. But we shouldn't get involved. This is Sekai and Makoto's mess to deal with. Not ours. 

Kotonoha: I agree. 

Yuuki: You sure? I mean I can't help but feel like this'll cause some serious repercussions in the future. 

Flukey: Repercussions that Makoto and Sekai will have to deal with on their own. Best not for us to get involved. 

Yuuki was still unsure.

Flukey: Listen Yuuki. I know you don't wanna standby and want to help but trust me when I say leave this alone and mind your own business. You understand? 

There was a moment of silence before Yuuki spoke. 

Yuuki: A-Alright. I'll say out of it. 

Flukey: Good. Hey, you heading to the festival later tonight? 

Yuuki: No. I'm gonna stay home.

Flukey: Ahh I gotcha. Well me and Kotonoha are gonna be there, mostly cause Kotonoha has to run one of the booths and I'm gonna stay there with her for support. 

Yuuki: Understood. Well I better get going. You two have a good day. 

Flukey: See ya Yuuki.

Kotonoha: Goodbye. 

With that Yuuki left and Flukey and Kotonoha were by themselves again. 

Kotonoha: Should we be worried Flukey? 

Flukey: No I don't think so. Let's not forget Makoto and Sekai broke both of our hearts to be with each other. Their problems are their own and if and when Makoto cheats on Sekai, which I know he will, Sekai has no one to blame but herself because I warned her about the type of person that Makoto is. Like the saying goes: Love can be blind. 

Kotonoha: Words to live by. 

Flukey: Yup. And unfortunately I didn't take my own advice with Sekai. 

Kotonoha: But you have me now so that cancels out your loss.

Flukey: Heh heh. Yeah. Love you Kotonoha.

Kotonoha: I love you too Flukey.

They shared a kiss as they continued to wait for the festival to begin, not caring about the inevitably foreshadowed collapse of Makoto and Sekai's relationship.
