"Bruce gave him a sedative. He's gonna probably be out for the rest of the day," informed Rhodey.
Carol nodded, beginning to walk away. "You guys take care of him and I'll bring him a Xorrian Elixir when I come back."
"Where are you going?" questioned Natasha.
Carol turned around, an expression on her face that implied she should have known better than to ask such a question. "To kill Thanos."
Steve and Natasha shared a look before walking after her.
"Hey, you know, we usually work as a team here, and between you and I, morale's a little fragile," said Natasha.
"We realize up there is more your territory, but this is our fight too," informed Steve.
"You even know where he is?" Rhodey interrupted.
"I know people who might," answered Carol.
"Don't bother," interrupted Nebula. "I can tell you where Thanos is. Thanos spent a long time trying to perfect me. And when he worked, he talked about his great plan. Even disassembled, I wanted to please him. I'd ask 'Where would we go once his plan was complete?' His answer was always the same: 'To the Garden.' "
Rhodey shrugged. "That's cute. Thanos has a retirement plan."
"So where is he?" asked Steve.
"When Thanos snapped his fingers, Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one's ever seen anything like it... Until two days ago," said Rocket as a hologram of a planet popped up, with a shockwave visibly traversing the surface. "On this planet."
"Thanos is there," said Nebula.
"He used the stones again," said Natasha.
Ophelia glanced down at the bag of chips Thor was silently munching on. "Brother, really?" she whispered.
"I'm a big man," he muttered.
"Hey, hey, hey. We'd be going in short-handed, you know," interrupted Bruce.
Rhodey shook his head. "Look, he's still got the stones, so..."
"So let's get him... Use them to bring everyone back," Carol answered nonchalantly.
"Just like that?" asked Rhodey.
Steve nodded. "Yeah, just like that."
"Even if there's a small chance that we can undo this... I mean we owe it to everyone who's not in this room to try," said Natasha, voice wavering.
"If we do this, how do we know it's gonna end any differently than it did before?" asked Bruce.
"Because before, you didn't have me," answered Carol.
"Hey, new girl, everyone here is about that superhero life. And if you don't mind my asking, where the hell have you been all this time?" Rhodey asked.
"There are a lot of other planets in the universe. And unfortunately, they didn't have you guys," she proudly answered.
Thor stood up, brushing his fingers to rid of the chip crumbs, and walked over to Carol. She looked at him. He held his hand up, and caught Stormbreaker as it flew over to him, missing Carol by inches. She didn't even flinch, but instead smiled at him.
Thor smiled. "I like this one."
Ophelia rolled her eyes, but her lips turned up at the sight of her brother's smile.
"Let's go get this son of a bitch," declared Steve.
They dispersed, changing and grabbing their own weapons. Ophelia and Steve walked side by side to their rooms.
"How did you grow?" she questioned.
He glanced at down at her, then back in front of him. "A serum. Experimental."
She hummed.
"It was a shock to see the woman I loved eighty years ago show up with a friend of mine who's a god."
"If I had known you would still be alive in the future, I would have visited. I returned, but they said you had died. Naturally, hearing news of the man I loved dying, I never returned to Midgard," she explained.
"Loki never said anything?" he asked, stopping at his room.
She continued to walk to her own room that was further down. "He was my brother. He wanted the best for me. He was good at mind games. If he had seen into my mind, seen the memories of our time together, there was no doubt he said nothing in order to not hurt me."
Steve nodded before turning the handle and disappearing into his room.
