shawn was home while phoebe was in a cab on her way to the airport. bella refused to let him come with her because people would get suspicious about them, even if the two young adult didn't know if there was something.

shawn looked at heather. "can we talk, please?" he asked her

she nodded as they stood up and went outside where no was there. shawn took a deep breath.

"it's really important." he told her, she nodded again.

"what?" she asked giving him a questioning look.

"i..i'm not sure if i still want to get married." he told her feeling suddenly dizzy.

heather's jaw dropped as she backed away. "why? what happened?" she asked

shawn shrugged. "i don't want to."

heather shook her head. "we can't call off the wedding, shawn." she raised her voice

shawn stepped closer. "of course, we can! you're just being a bitch."

heather looked at him. "i'm a what? what did i do?" she asked

and for one time, it was shawn who was rolling his eyes. "you're mean, you're acting disgusting in front of my parents, you were supposed to only be a one night stand so why did we start this?" he yelled

heather gasped. "why did you start this? why did you call me back? why did you keep saying that you needed me?" she asked

"because at first, we were just for sex then i fell in love with you heather! but, i realized that you weren't the woman i wanted to marry!" he told her. "do you actually love me?"

heather stayed silent. "that's what i thought." he told her.

shawn begun to walk but she grabbed his wrist. "don't leave, please." she said. "i need you, shawn."

shawn scoffed. "you're not even able to love me while we're together for what? three years?" he told her starting to walk again.

heather groaned. "i will tell your parents everything!" she yelled

shawn turned around. "my parents already know everything, don't you dare dragging them into our problems." he screamed back

shawn grabbed his car keys and walked straight into the car and begun to drive to the airport, he needed to see her before she took off. thirty minutes later, he was already at the airport and was looking for her.

after looking for her for ten good minutes, he walked to the reception.

"hey miss, does the los angeles flight already take off?" he asked out of breath as she checked on her computer.

"yes sir, i'm sorry." she answered as shawn pulled back his hair and groaned.

"when is the next fly to los angeles?" he asked to the receptionist

"tomorrow morning." she told him and looked up meeting his hazel eyes.

shawn sighed. "can i buy a ticket, please?" he asked

the young woman nodded, shawn left the airport with his plane ticket for la. he didn't know if he was happy or not about the previous events but he was definitely happy to see phoebe tomorrow.

they both grew closer, spending the last two weeks together, laughing, talking and kissing. shawn never felt that in his whole life not even with heather, heather was the kind of girl who was always trying to make drama where there was none but she wasn't like that in real life. shawn remembered so damn well the fights they used to have, they were so violent but shawn never laid a hand on her even if she did, multiple times, but shawn would never touch a woman in that way, his mom didn't raise him like that.

shawn stepped in the home suddenly feeling sick to see heather again. what was she going to say to him? what did she done while he was gone?

"hey man! you're back." said scott making shawn smiled, happy to see his brother.

shawn nodded. "i am, trying to catch phoebe before she took off but i came too late." he told him

scott grinned. "you didn't say her goodbye?" he asked

shawn shook his head. "i didn't." he answered, that was totally false because he said goodbye with the biggest and hottest kiss making phoebe smile widely.

scott groaned. "oh man, that sucks. sorry." he spoke. "oh by the way, i saw heather crying earlier, are you two okay?" he added

shawn rolled his eyes. "i called off the wedding." he answered whispering as his little brother gasped. "don't say anything to mom, not yet."

scott nodded and zipped his mouth making shawn chuckle. "only kids do that, scottie." he spoke laughing

scott showed him his middle finger. "fuck you, shawny."

shawn shook his head and walked upstairs, seeing heather in the bed watching tv. he sat at the edge of the bed and looked at the movie.

"you know that movie?" asked shawn

heather scoffed. "of course, i do. this is forrest gump." she answered, by her tone shawn could say that she was rolling her eyes.

he started to play with his ring. "you know, i was serious about canceling the wedding." he told her avoiding her gaze.

heather hummed. "cool then, we're not engaged anymore." she said. "and i guess we're nothing now."

shawn finally turned around and watched her, she seemed okay. "i'm really sorry heather but remember our first year together?" he asked to the girl as she nodded, a little smile creeped on her face.

heather sat up correctly. "we were in love and it was perfect, what happened to us?" she asked to the tall man sitting across her

"you fell out in love with me first, then I thought that if I asked you to marry me, everything will be okay again." said shawn truthfully

heather smiled sadly. "wanna know something?" shawn nodded. "i really thought it was going to help us too." she told him

"i'm sorry that i called you a bitch, you're not really like a bitch." shawn said making heather laughs.

she stopped. "thanks? i guess." she shrugged. "so we're on good terms?"

shawn nodded. "do you want us to?" he asked with a grin

heather slapped his chest. "of course, i do! we were together for three years, you're still my best friend." she answered softly

shawn's heart melted, never heather said something so honest and kind to him but he couldn't help and ask himself a question.

he looked up at the young woman. "when did you fall out in love with me?" he asked as heather looked away

"last year? i think." she spoke making shawn's heart tightened.

shawn was hurt, she stayed with over two years while she   in love with him?

heather noticed shawn's face and spoke. "i was just trying to make us work again, i really had feelings for you before." she started. "and, i really love you as a friend shawn." she said to him softly.

shawn nodded as heather placed a kiss on his cheek, they both agreed to go downstairs and announced the news to everyone. luckily, everyone was already in the living room, shawn's family and heather's one were here.

shawn felt himself sweating and shaking, heather noticed and grabbed his hand. "attention guys!" spoke heather loudly

everyone snapped their heads towards the ex-couple and smiled. "what?" asked scott

shawn cleared his throat. "heather and I talked for a while and came to the conclusion that.." shawn took a deep breath but heather cut him off

"we canceled the wedding." everyone gasped. "we both agreed to this, don't worry." she told everyone

her dad stared at her. "i think we deserve explanation." he talked loudly making shawn shivers.

heather coughed. "i didn't love shawn anymore and he felt like i wasn't the woman, he wanted to marry." she said. "and i completely agree, we're both okay as best friend, right shawn?" she looked up

shawn licked his lips and nodded. "of course, we are." he answered softly.

heather was his best friend, she stayed by his side while he had his panics attack or when he had a fight with his family, she was always by his side and he was so thankful for that. shawn knew the real heather, who had feelings, who loved to watch cartoons when she woke up, who loved cuddles, who loved spending time with kids even if she told everyone that she hated kids.

but, shawn's heart was owned by another person and she wasn't there.
