| Chris' POV |
Time was flying. At least for me, it had been. Things had been calm, despite a small storm brewing between Ricky and I. Yes, I know he's smoking still. I don't know how to change his mind. It seems like he doesn't want to listen to me or realize that it's hurting me to see him continue to smoke. No matter how badly I want him to quit, I still love him. This won't stop me from marrying him.
It was a calm spring day and we were watching TV. I can't believe it's already spring. We're flying out soon to play Rock On The Range in about two weeks, but that's our only gig planned. We've been taking it slow. Ricky rested against my side, watching Beetlejuice while I scrolled through my Instagram. Shiloh had posted a video about an hour and a half ago. I hit the play button to see him walking around to couch to film Devin.
"Are you taking a video?" Devin asked, typing at his computer.
"Yes, because guess what?" He replied. Devin looked up from his screen, waiting on a response from Shiloh. "My sister just went into labor."
"Seriously?" He smiled brighter than the sun.
"Yes!" Shiloh laughed.
Devin stood up off the couch. The camera messily turned around as he kissed Shiloh, "Let's get our asses moving then to go meet our new girl."
Ricky had been looking at the video on my screen as I played it. He smiled, "They're so sweet. Did you want to go to the hospital later to meet the new baby?"
"If they ask us. I don't want to intrude." I responded.
I refreshed my feed to see a picture of Ryan looking like he got hit by a bus. There were bags under his eyes and he was obviously out of patience. The caption said, "An hour in. ??? hours to go. Alien creature please evacuate my girlfriend's body already. Thanks." Someone else isn't as happy, it seems. I'm sure Shiloh is with his sister too to help her out. Devin had just posted a new video too. Him and Bella were sitting in the waiting room.
"Are you excited to meet your new little sister?" He asked her.
She jumped up and down in the waiting room chair, "YAS! How much longer daddy?"
He laughed, "We don't know. Whenever she decides she's sick of your aunt."
Awe, that's too sweet. Someday, I want that with Ricky. We still never fully had our kids talk. We'll get there. For now I mostly want to focus on our wedding that's this fall. That sounds far away, but it really isn't. This summer will fly past us. I just know it. Whenever we do have kids, I don't want to still be fighting him on the smoking matter. Devin has tried to help Ricky and he just won't be helped.
"Dev texted me." Ricky muttered, "He said they're estimating delivery in about three hours and if we want we can stop by."
"Poor Ryan." I snickered, running my hand through my beauty's hair, "How about I take you out to dinner and we'll swing by the hospital afterwards?"
He sat up and pecked my lips, "Sounds like a plan."
| Devin's POV |
I think I was being more impatient than Bella. I wanted to meet our baby girl so badly. Finally, after forever, Ryan walked out and told me Kate had finally delivered. As we walked to the room, Bella held onto my finger. She's growing up in the blink of an eye, yet she's still my little girl. We entered the hospital room where Katy was already half asleep. Ryan got up on the bed with her and she snuggled into him. Weirdos.
The most beautiful sight graced my eyes. It was one I hadn't seen anywhere but pictures these past few years. Shiloh sat in the room's armchair with the newborn resting in his arms. He had the lightest of happy tears rimming his crystal eyes. I went to him, leaning over the back of the chair. She was absolutely beautiful. Shiloh's family traits were showing through on her already. He looked up at me as I stood next to his chair. A smile laid plastered on his face and his eyes glossed over.
I leaned down and kissed his temple, "She's perfect. Just like you."
All he could do is smile. Bella got on her tip toes to see her new sister. I picked her up so she could get a better view. This, this is why I fought my demons for so many years. So I could find this Heaven.
"What are you naming her?" Ryan asked.
"We're naming her after Devin's grandmother; Lucy." Shiloh proudly responded.
It fit her personality already. I could tell. She was an angel. I love my family, so so damn much.
