| Devin's POV |
A week later, we had a day off somewhere in Canada. Ryan and Ricky went off to go find food somewhere. Balz and the tour manager were watching TV in the back lounge. Chris was sat across from me, writing, while I was on my computer doing some research. Shiloh and I had talked for a while about renewing our vows, and I want to finally make that a reality.
"Hey Chris?" I grabbed his attention.
He looked up from his notebook. "Yeah?"
"Shiloh and I have been talking about taking a vacation in Hawaii and renewing our vows. We wanted a few close friends there. Would you and Ricky be interested in joining us?" I asked him.
Chris thought for a moment, then got a smile. "Yes! That's perfect! I've been trying to find a good time or place to propose to him, and Hawaii is so romantic."
"It is. It's gorgeous." I smiled in return. "So you are finally going through with the proposal?"
"Yeah, I am. I think I am ready. He found out a while back that I was going to, and I've been waiting a while because I want him to forget I was going to. I was him to be surprised. I just... I don't know when the right moment is. How'd you purpose to Shiloh?"
"It was anything but planned." I chuckled. "I hadn't even thought about getting married and I didn't have a ring for him or anything. I had just gotten home from tour, and I had him in my arms. I remember, looking into his eyes, and realizing in that moment that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. So I asked him, and he said yes. That's the thing I've learned about love; the best moments aren't planned."
Chris tapped his pen against his notebook as he thought. "No, they're not. I never planned on falling in love with him. The first time I kissed him, I never planned on that either. You're so right."
"Aren't I always?" I joked.
He rolled his eyes with a laugh. We both shut down the conversation as we heard the bus door open. I'm sure Chris didn't want Ricky to hear us discussing this. Like he said, he really wanted it to be a surprise. Ricky and Ryan walked back on the bus. No surprise, they brought back wings for food.
"WE HAVE FOOD!" Ryan shouted towards the back of the bus.
Like that, Balz and the rest of the roadies came out from the bunks and back lounge. I closed my laptop and set it aside so they could put the food down on the table in front of me. Once Ricky's hands were free, Chris grabbed him by the waist. Ricky yelped out of shock as he was yanked into Chris lap.
"Hey you." Chris smiled at him.
Ricky giggled as he fixed his hair. "What's gotten into you?"
"Nothing." He grinned. "I just felt like having you in my arms."
"Can you have me in your arms after I eat?"
"Nope. Now." Chris stated.
"But-" He whined, trying to reach towards the table. "Chicken wings!"
"Chicken wings are more important than me?" He fake-pouted.
"Okay, put it this way. If we got stranded on an island, just you, me, and a crate of chicken wings, would you rather I ate the wings or you?" Ricky asked.
"Are you threatening to eat me if I don't let you go?"
He thought about it for a moment. "Possibly." Rick admitted, then licked Chris' face.
Chris let go of him so he could wipe his face. He shook his head, laughing, "You're such a weirdo."
In those two seconds, Ricky already managed to get to the table and get a wing. Ricky fell on the bench I was on, leaning back on me like I was a pillow. I playfully glared at him, but he didn't give a shit. With a half full mouth, he replied, "But I'm your weirdo."
Chris stood up and leaned over to kiss him. "I know." He smiled brightly. "And I wouldn't have it any other way."
~2 Weeks Later~
| Ricky's POV |
Chris and I have been closer than ever. I think now that everything has panned out, there's nothing holding us back from happy. Ryan finally got over Allie, and I'm pretty sure he's going to marry his guitar at this point. Balz and Ryan-Ashley have recovered from her miscarriage and all the stress it caused them. She said she's making the shops her babies. And most of all, Shiloh is back and fully healthy again. We're fixed again.
Kuza and December missed our hometown show because they were on tour themselves, but their tour has a day off in the city we're playing tonight. I'm happy to have them come out to see us. And tonight's stop happens to be... Seattle. It's always bittersweet being home. I love the city, but I don't like to revisit my past here. Luckily my family didn't dare come to the show. So I got to enjoy the city lights.
After the show we all went to Hooters. Obviously most of us don't care about the chicks, just the chicken wings.
"Can you two stop?" Ryan complained in referring to Kuza and December messing around with each other next to him. "Or just don't do it so close to me."
"Jealous much?" December scoffed and looked back at him.
"I am not jealous of you two licking faces." He replied.
"You really shouldn't lick Kuza." Chris added. "You have no idea where he's been."
"Be more worried for his safety. You don't know where my tongue has been." December joked.
Kuza smirked. "I do."
"Aaaand there goes my appetite." Balz spoke as he pushed his plate of food away.
"You guys are being big babies." I said. "I think it's cute how much PDA they show."
As I said that, Chris set his hand on my upper leg. It was under the table, so the others didn't notice, but I did. Oh, trust me, I did. He began to rub his hand up and down, causing me to squirm. I crossed my legs to get him to stop. Chris just smirked and snickered to himself. He rested his arm over my shoulder, and set his other hand on my knee.
"I love youuu." He quietly sang into my ear.
I smiled and pecked his cheek to thank him. At this point, I had drown out the others conversation. Somehow those few moments away resulted in Ryan reached over Devin to try to hit Balz. Devin just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"Are you two done?" He snapped as they calmed down from whatever they were bickering about. "Shiloh has been talking about adopting or something. I'm going to make him spend an hour with you two alone so he knows what it'll be like if we have two kids."
"He started it!" Balz protested.
"I did not! You're the one that stole my phone charger the other day." Ryan replied.
"Yeah, and what did you do like two hours later? You stole my blanket from my bunk!"
"I gave you mine in return!"
"Yours smells!"
"I'm sorry I don't have a girlfriend to do my laundry!"
I sighed and rested my head on Chris' shoulder as their bickering continued. He kissed my forehead and said, "It's a good thing tour is almost over."
I laughed. "Hey, they might be getting a little stir crazy, but I wouldn't trade these assholes for any other assholes in the whole world."
"That makes two of us." Chris chuckled. He lowered his voice to speak just to me softly. "This is our family. And, I can't promise this will last forever, but I want to make sure you're in my future."
"I'm not going anywhere." I blissfully responded.
"I want to make sure of that, though." He slyly reached across the table and grabbed something from Kuza. "I thought this over so many times. I planned it over and over, trying to make this something grand, but I realized, fanciness isn't who we are. This," He gestured around. "This weirdest, this is who we are. This is when we're happy. At some bar at 1AM after a show, scaring the waitresses. I love you Ricky, for more reasons than I have to the breath to speak. Will you marry me?"
Half the guys were too oblivious to even hear this conversation, but I heard every word crystal clear. Chris ran his hand down my arm, and drew my attention to the ring box he had. He showed me the ring. It was gorgeous, pure black. That, got everyone's attention.
I didn't even have to think about it! I almost pounced at his as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Yes!" I spoke, almost close to tears from happiness. "A million times, yes! Fuck yes!"
Chris secured his arms around me. "I love you, Ricky."
I looked up at him with the tears now building in my eyes. "I love you, Chris."
