A sword now fell into the arena; its blade now stuck into the ground.  It glowed abnormally,  then a figure descends beside it.  His hand now grasped the blade and removed it.  He was covered from head to toe in a heavenly armor, and immediately he retracted what seemed to be a scroll.

"I would appear that my new quest is to battle for honor."

He now bowed his head.

"Please, oh great almighty ones.  Lend me your blessings to help me prepare combat in your name."

Blessing: Sided with the gods

Effect: His abilities are higher than that of a regular human

Nathaniel now rose his sword to let it collect the suns rays.

Blessing: The Shined Sword

Effect: This blade had been given to him by the divines, making him their chosen champion.

Bomber note: What really happen was that during on of his pilgrimages he came across the blade buried deep into the stone-y area of a shrine.  Upon seeing the light it produced, he took it as a weapon from the gods.  It is still unknown how such a powerful weapon got there.  I believe one of them accidentally dropped one of their fancy weapons.
