Effect: Nathaniel now casts his largest ward in his inventory.  This shield is often used to protect cities of bases from large scale attacks, but in this case, a arena and only one of the competitors.  Instead of a perfect dome shape, Nathaniel now uses much of his energy to warp the field to leave his opponent outside it.  Passage through is impossible.

Effect: Using what energy he isn't using, Nathaniel now builds up his power and strength in case of anything.
