Chapter six

"Alright everyone, hide and stay hidden unless the scroll doesn't work."

The group nodded and all scattered throughout the village. Blae was hiding beneath a carriage, Keira-zane was perched up on a short oak tree, only just being hidden by the leaves and branches. Desai and Eleazar has both hidden behind the rubble of a fallen building, climbing inbetween the holes.

"Hey, bastards!" Tareo called, stopping his foot on the friend, rocks and bolders rushing towards him and building him a pedestal to stand on. He held the axe down low by his side the motheress scroll wrapped tightly around the hilt.

The two Demigods paused, the fire ceased, the laughter stopped. They turned to face Tareo, their eyes firey with unspoken rage. "We have names, you know!" The shorter, ginger Demi said. She looked about 14, with torn up and singed white robes. "Please, enlighten me!" Tareo snarked back, a smirk never before seen by the team painted on his tanned face.

"I am Traives, Demigod of my master, God of greed," the taller, bulkier Demi yelled, his voice deep and hair blonde. He to had white robes, equally as ruined as the ginger.

"And you're friend?" Tareo groaned, seemingly already bored of the interaction. "I'm Kemrè, Demigod of my mistress, Goddess of danger!" The ginger grinned. She seemed so arrogant.

"Right. I'm Tareo, you know, the one destined to ki-" He was cut off by Traives launching himself at Tareo, grabbing violently at his neck. "Enough talking, mortal human."

The tower of stones and bolders Tareo had built up crumbled, dust and dirt flying through the air.

"Uh, guys. He isn't going his weird fatherless scroll magic?" Blae whisper-shouted.

"Give him a moment!" Desai answered, gritting his teeth.

Tareo pushed against the Demi's chest, feeling as Traives' fists clenched his neck harder. Tareo gasped for air, scratching at the demigod's arms. He felt his throat being constricted, he could feel hot tears dripping down his cheeks. He could hear a ringing noise begin to take over his ears, deafening him. He could see the maniacal smiling formed on the demigod's lips, the crazed bronze eyes smirling dangerously.

He swore he felt his eyelids begin to droop, his body go limp, but then Traives was pushed off, a spear skewering through his torso. He felt two pairs of arms lift him up, propping him back onto his feet.

He slowly regained is hearing, his eyesight becoming unblurred.

"Hey! Traives was having fun until you idiots ruined it!" Kemrè huffed in annoyance as she helped Traives up off the floor.

"Your friend was killing our leader, fuckface!" Blae lamented.

Tareo pushed off of the two people he now recognised as Keira-zane and Desai, hefting up his axe, his limbs still shakey and his eyes still watery.

"You want to kill me, right?" Tareo questioned, face hard as stone. The two Demigods nodded.

"Catch me if you can." Tareo sprinted off into the woods, both his team and demigod's chasing after him.

"When did Tareo get so fucking... Fun?" Blae yelled, looking back to Keira-zane, Desai and Eleazar. "This isn't fun, Dumbass!" Eleazar called out, darting past Blae.

"I would have to agree with Eleazar, Blae." Keira-zane piped up.

"Fucking hell, alright!" The archer spat.

Now they just had to figure out where Tareo had gone. And the demigod's.
