Chapter Four

Usually, the team could sleep late on weekends, sometimes to about 11 in the morning, but not today. They were awoken at a shocking 4 o'clock by a loud obnoxious sound, echoing - not just through the temple, but the entire city of Waleuon.

The group tiredly stumbled from their rooms, Eleazar, for some reason, coming out of Desai's room. "The fuck was that?" Desai groaned, rubbing the sleep from his dark eyes. "I believe it's a bell, perhaps like the one that was rung when a healer such as myself was needed," Kiera-Zane answered. "Although, I believe it may be for Tareo."

The group quickly rushed back to their rooms, hastily tugging on their clothes.

Tareo sighed, grabbing his battle axe. "Uh, you're coming with me, right?" He questioned, pausing to look back at them, only to find the group was already ahead of him, heading for the temple gates.

"Oh-kay." He murmured.

When the group emerged, Algumn rushed to Tareo, dragging him to a tent as he rambled, the group following behind. "Morning, mate. Ya ready for a fight?" Tareo nodded unsurely. "Right then. We've got a small town to the south-east sending a beacon out. We've gotten intelligence that it's an attack from demigods. Be prepared for the worst."

Tareo nodded solemnly, stiffening as a woman in a faceless white mask came up to him with a burning chain.

Blae got chills up her spine as Tareo switched into a different person. As he held his arms out, letting the chains wrap around his wrists.

She looked to him in horror as he didn't even flinch when steam and a barely audible sizzle arose from the chains.

The faceless lady tightened the chains, beginning to mutter what has apparently an enchantment.

Blae peered to where Kiera-Zane, Eleazar, and Desai stood, who also stood in horror. Blae took notice of how Kiera-Zane was less alarmed. Perhaps she was used to seeing gruesome scenes, having been a healer since seven years old.

Blae looked back to Tareo and the faceless lady. Just in time to see Tareo snap the chains in two. He looked back, rubbing his burning wrists, a timid smile on his face.

"What?" He queried, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"What was that!" Desai yelled, though it sounded more like an exclamation rather than a question.

"It's this weird thing I've got to do everyday, it gives me strength and stuff." He replied, shrugging.

"Why did you look so used to it?" Blae demanded. "Well, the Creif was like this, too. Why are you surprised?"

"It's just - oh, whatever. Let's go." Blae retorted. Tareo nodded, hefting his axe onto his shoulder.

Algumn whistled to a tower, waving his right arm up and down. The tower - or rather, someone in the tower -  whistled back. A loud cranking noise was heard before the gates were slowly opened, allowing the team outside.

Algumn hurried outside with them, going straight to a large wooden shack, opening a barn-like door.

Algumn ran inside before coming out. Holding five reins. What the reins were holding was not one or two, but five glorious brown-feathered hypogriff's.

"Well, mates. Here's ya ride." Algumn coughed, a crooked smile on his face.

"WHAT THE FUCK." Blae yelled.
