Chapter five

Tareo relaxed his shoulders as the cold wind hit his face, pushing his untamed balck and blonde curls backwards.

"Alright. What's our plan?" Desai shouted over the wind. Everyone but Keira-zane and Tareo seemed to be having trouble controlling their hypogriffs, Eleazar struggling the most.

"Well it's Demigods we're dealing with, correct? We could just use Tareo and his mother was scroll to efficiently wipe them out or at least drive them away from the town?" Keira-zane piped up. "Yes, but I've never used the scroll yet. Algumn's only been telling me 'prepsre your mind for the worst of it boy' and it's not exactly helpful." Tareo huffed, looking behind him to the group.

"Well, just prepare your mind? It canttbe that bad." Blae scoffed. "Well I have no idea what he meant, so it's a game of chance, numbass!" Tareo snapped.

"Eleazar why are you quiet. You're never quiet." Keira-zane asked, looking to the shorter. "Oh, it's just that this is kind of close to my grandmother's village. It's just a bit north of here." The group nodded in understanding, continuing to discuss battle plans.

"I think I'll try the motheress scroll, and if that doesn't work well lead them back to the Garcev steps to-"

"Hang on. What are the Garcev steps?" Eleazar cut in.

"Oh, right, you guys haven't been taught by elders of the city your whole life. It's the steps up to Gael. You guys know it as Heaven, but that's it's true name." Tareo replied.

"I've been taught by my cities elders, too. How come I've never heard of it?" Keira-zane hummed.

"Waleuon elders only, I guess. We are the original city, after all."

The group fell into silence again, before Blae coughed. "So, Tareo. What's was that back-up plan of yours?"

"I was thinking if the scroll doesn't work, we lead them to the Garcev steps. Atleast one of the demigod keepers while see them and take them back to the Gael. Any one have something better?" Tareo explained, smiling at the end.

"I think everyone is in agreement that your will work." Keira-zane smiled.

"Great! Because we're here." Desai answered, pointing down below. The village houses were caught on fire, blood splattered around. Screams echoed throughout the town, but two defining sounds made themselves clear. Maniacal laughter could be heard. One deep and booming, and the other high-pitched, like a young girls giggle.

"It's worse than we I thought..." Eleazar gasped as the hypogriffs landed.

Tareo clenched his fists and grinded Hai teeth. "What did you think it was, the demi's not sharing their toys? I think you don't understand what Demigods are capable of. Watch and learn tonight, Eleazar."

The group quietened. They had never seen an outburst like that from him, let alone about the God's blessed ones. He always paid respect to the gods and their Demi's.

Tareo huffed and told them to hide while he tried to use the scroll.

And to think, it was only seven am?
