Cab: arre humari lady mogambo..ye thinnie..ye rough n tough ladki..she just blushed!! Guys..Mukti blushed..!!

Muk (smiling): shut up Cabir..

Al: OMG..look at u Muku..u r shining so brightly..

Muk: guys stop it na..

Man(taking Mukti in a side hug): always be happy like this..its good to see u smiling..n blushing..for a change.. (winking)

Muk: Manik!!not u at least..

Nan: but seriously Muku..seeing u happy here..n BB happy back at home  i feel so elated.. its so happy to see both of u so much into love with each other..

Nandini's phone buzzed..she took out her mobile n saw a message. She excused everyone n was about to leave when Manik held her hand..

Man: kaha?

Cab: Manik..kabhi to use akela chod diya kar..itna to me aur Dhruv b apni girlfriends k peeche nahi bhaagte jitna k tu apni is friend k peeche bhaagta hai.

Man (still holding her wrist n looking into her eyes): i will never leave her alone.

Manik's this sentence brought a big bright smile on Nandini's face.. unknowingly..Manik had assured her of his being with her forever..n thats what Nandini was looking for..someone who would stick to her forever..someone who would never leave her..

Nan: Manik..Principal sir ne mujhe bulaaaya hai..bas..wahi jaa rahi hu..

Man: should I come?

Nan: no..u sit here with others n i will just finish it off n come soon.

Manik dejectedly leaves her wrist n simply nods.

Nan: Manik..

Manik looks at her n raises his eyesbrows as of asking what..

Nan: i wont leave u alone too..

Saying so..Nandini leaves from there smilingly..changing the sulking mood of Manik into a jubilant mood. Nandini's this sentence brought a wide grin on his face. All his friends too were smiling genuinely for both of them.

Principal's office:

Nan: sir..aapne bulaaya?

P: oh yes Ms. Murthy.. glad to see u here.. well..i called u here to appreciate ur hardwork..

Nan (confused): hardwork?

P: yes..hardwork..i cant see it anything below that.

Nan: s..sorry sir..i m not getting u..

P: arree..taming the famous Fab5 isnt a cakewalk now..is it? U not only stopped their bullying..but with ur tutoring..they have started scoring well in the last exams n clast tests.

Nan (smiling): i ddnt do much sir.. they all r very capable students.. they were just enjoying their lives..but they never meant any harm for anyone.

P: i knw i knw.. but m really glad to see the results..n m surprised too.. specially cause of Manik..the student who always scored just enough to pass his exams..now is on 2nd position in the batch..just lagging behind u by some points. Must say Nandini..u need to brace up..seems u have got a tough competitor.. (winking at her)

Nan: i would b glad to have such a competitor..n m really happy that they r doing so well. But sir..its all their hardwork thats paying them..n u dont need to appreciate me for their hardwork

P: ok ok..i give up. Coming to the second point i called for..there is a shortage for a professor in our college..n i knw u students had to bare a lot since even finals r approaching .. specifically u 2nd yr students..but now..its time to ease up..coz we have managed to arrange one professor for u guys..he will b joining us in 2 weeks time..at the max..

Nan(lost): Professor..

Nan(self talk): why is it bothering me? We have professors here who r teaching us..n now when sir is planning to get a new professor..why is it bothering me? Y m i getting some bad feeling? R these negative vibes or m i just over thinking?

P: Nandini..whats wrong? U seem to b lost.

Nan: no..nothing sir..

P: ok then..i guess m done..n for the third point..i guess u need to talk to her.(pointing his finger at he back)

Nandini turns around n gets surprised to see Nyeonika sitting there with a wide smile on her face and eyes gleaming with pride.

Nyeo: hello Nandini..

Nan: hello mam.

Principal excuses them n leaves. Nyeonika comes n takes Nandini in a tyt hug..which Nandini reciprocates with equal force.

Nan: aunty aap..aapne mujhe bulwaaya?

Nyeo: haan mene bulwaaya tumhe. Aur me jaanti hu tum itni confused kyu ho. Yehi na k mene tumhe principal sir k thru kyu bulwaya? Wo isliye..kyunki mujhe pata tha k Manik tumhare saath hoga..aur jo me baat kerna chahti hu..uske liye Manik ka tumse door rehna zaruri tha. Isliye ye sab..

Nan: aisi kya baat hai aunty? Sab theek hai na?

Nyeo: haan..sab theek hai..its just tht..3 din baad..Manik ka birthday hai.. u knw Nandini..Manik bachpan se apne birthdays ko leke bohot excited huwa kerta tha.. apne birthday se 1 maheene pehle se countdown start kerta tha. Aur 2 hafte pehle se to apni gift list tayyar kerta tha.. mom mujhe birthday me ye chahiye..wo chahiye. Lekin pichle 2 saalo me..sab badal gaya..usne apna birthday manaana chod diya.

Nandini squeezes her hand to comfort her.. when she sees her eyes holding tears in them.

Nyeo: lekin is baar..is baar me uska birthday celebrate kerna chahti hu..bohot hee aalishan tareeke se. Aur usme mujhe tumhari aur fab4 ki zarurat hai.

Nan: aunty..dont worry..hum sab kuch perfect karenge. Aur ye birthday Manik ki life ka best birthday hoga..aisa birthday jo pichle 2 saalo ki yaado ko mitaa dega.

Nyeo (whispering): wo to hona hee hai..is saal uski lady love..tum jo ho uske saath.

Nan: huh? Aunty..aapne kuch kaha?

Neyo: wow..i ddnt knw tum itna khatarnaak plan b banaa sakti ho. Oh m so excited..the look on Manik's face wud b worth seeing. But poor my child.. use bura lagega.

Nan: haan aunty..bura shayad lagega..lekin m sure..at the end of the day..he will b gleaming in joy. Aunty..me jitna Manik ko jaan paayi hu..itna mene samjha hai tht he values his family n friends alot. He is a homely person..a family person. In 2 saalo me usne aapko aur teddy bear ko bohot miss kiya hoga..thts why he ddnt wish to celebrate his birthday.  Lekin if we go by this plan..then he wud b able to spend his lost time with u and even celebrate his birthday.

Nyeo: i must say ha Nandini..tum to Manik ko bohot deeply jaan gayi ho. No wonders he is soo close to u.

Nandini smiles a shy smile n avoids her gaze.

Nyeo (placing a loving hand on her head): thank u Nandini..not only for this plan..or for helping me..but for giving me my lost son back.. mere aur mere bete ki life ko phirse colorful banaa ne k liye. I m so happy tht we have an Angel in ur form in our lives. Thank u so much.

Nandinzi hugs her tight n blinks her eyes a few times to stop her tears which were threatening to flow down.

Nan (self talk): hmmm..so its ur birthday Mikkkuu.. i promise..i will try my best to make it the best birthday ever. Plan to ban gaya..but now i need to discuss it with fab4. But Manik se chup k kaise karu?

Taking out her mobile..she creates a whatsapp group including fab4, Navya, Abhi n Mr. n Mrs. Malhotra. She names the group "Manik's burday"

Nan: so guys..seeing the name u must have understood what is the purpose of this group..make it a point that Manik doesnt have a doubt on anyone of U.

Here..when Nandini created the group..everyone's mobile beeped with notification except for Manik's. They all opened n saw the whatsapp group. Initially all were about to squeal but on reading Nandini's message..all controlled their happiness.

Man: what's up guys? Aise suddenly chup kyu hogaye?

Cab: nothing yaar..tu bata..aaj ka kya plan hai?

Man (raising his eyebrows): acha? Really? To dikha mujhe..me b to dekhu tum dono ki jodi dikhti kaisi hai.

Dhr: chod na Manik..

Man: acha tu bata..tu tabse kya dekh raha hai mobile me?

Dhr: me? Me..me wo..me..haan..arre ye network waale na..aise hee aaltu faltu msgs bhejte hai..bas..me wohi delete ker raha tha.

Man (duh face): really? Guys whats wrong with u? Saaf saaf pata chal raha hai k u guys r hiding something. Now come on..out with it..quick.

Muk: arre..tujhe aisa kyu lag raha hai k hum kuch chupaa rahe hai?

Cabir collected everyone's mobile n packed it in Nandini's bag.

Manik was having shocked expression. His friends were selling him all lies when he asked them..n now..for Nandini..they just gave up on their mobiles.

Man: fine..

Al: huuff...acha huwa tum time pe aagayi Nandini..werna to Manik aaj hume chodta hee nai.

Cab: haan yaar..aaj to aisa laga jaise isme ACP Pradhyuman ka bhoot ghus gaya..har baat pe shak...sawal..tehkeekat..

Nan: me samaj gayi thi jab none of u guys were replying to our messages on whatsapp..isliye i told aunty tht i wud send Manik to her..tab tak hume time b miljaayga discuss kerne k liye.

Muk: ok so..whats the plan? I dnt believe..we will b celebrating Manik's birthday after 2 years!! M so excited.

Nav: hum to pehli baar kisi ki birthday party ki preparation me hissa lenge..bohot mazaa aayega. Nandu..bataao na..kya plan hai.

Dhr: nothing much Nandini..we just wished him at 12 midnight..n then tried to cheer his mood the next day..having lunch n dinner both at his favorite restaurants

Nan: see..we all will wish him at 12 on his birthday..jaise k u guys have been doing it for the past 2 years. Just like that. Then on his birthday..he will spend his entire day with Teddy bear n Nyeonika aunty. They wud go out for shopping n have lunch. Tab tak we guys will arrange for a party at Malhotra mansion..n as soon as we will b done..we will text Teddy bear n they will bring Manik to the party. Everyone was quitely looking at Nandini..not giving out any expression. The first one to talk was Navya..

Muk: superb..i so loved the idea. I mean this is truly a surprise. Manik ko kabhi shak b nahi hoga..coz pichle 2 saal se hum yehi kerte aarahe hai.

Cab: waah behna..aaj tune saabit ker hee diya na k tu meri hee behn hai. Aise smart ideas sirf hum dono ko hee aa sakte hai.

Dhr: but Buddy humse expect ker raha hoga tht we wud make this birthday a special one for him..

Al: u r ryt Dhruv. Tabhi to ye perfect surprise hoga..as he wud b expecting it..but we wouldnt give him at tht time..phir raat ko when he wud b least expecting it..tab we will have a blast.. wow..i cant even hold my excitement.

Al: birthday boy's dress! Wo to casuals me jaayga na aunty uncle k saath..then wud he attend the party in same casuals? He is the birthday boy yaar..

Nan: uski zarurat nahi hai Muku. Nyeo aunty mall me hee use uska birthday dress pehnaa dengi. So thats taken care of.

Nan: uff Aiyappa..tabse soch rahi hu..kuch idea click hee nai horaha. Ab aap hee bataao na..kya gift du me Manik ko. Me use aisa kuch dena chahti hu jo humesha uske paas rahe..jise dekh k wo humesha muskuraay. Aisa kya hai jo use peace deta hai? Use khush kerta hai?

After discussing all the details on whatsapp..n informing what all they have to do..n how Nyeonika n Vishal r supposed to spend the entire day together with Manik..n make him ready in the mall itself..Nandini was now thinking of a birthday gift for Manik. She sits tiredly on her bed n closes her eyes..trying to think of some gift when her mind goes into a flashback.

Flashback:

On a random Sunday..Cabir had planned a meeting between Navya n his paresnts..Dhruv n Aliya had planned a lunch with both of their parents..Abhi had some work out of Mumbai..n Mukti had few guests to attend..leaving behind only Manik n Nandini..who were in Nandini's house. Nandini was cleaning up her room..n Manik proposed to b a volunteer. They were cleaning when Manik came across a diary..it had some lines scribbled in it.. Nandini was very much engrossed in tidying up her wardrobe that she ddnt see Manik reading the diary..until she heard a 'wow' from Manik's mouth.

Nan: Manik! How can u read this? This is my personal diary..give it back to me?

Man (hiding the book behind him): Nandini..u never told me u write lyrics too.!

Nan: lyrics? These arent lyrics Manik. They r just few sentences here n there..that too immature. Now give it back to me.

Man: r u even listening to urself? U call this immature? These r so beautiful Nandini. U write terrific.

Nan: Manik..m saying it for the last time..give me tht book back.

Man: i guess..a NO would do.

Winking at her..he runs away from her room.

Nan: Manik stop..give it to me.

Man: catch me if u can baby.

Nan: Mikkuuuu....

Man: oh God.how much weird is tht name. But i aint stopping

They kept running till Manik reached the terrace garden n Nandini behind him. Manik goes around the table n Nandini stands ryt in front of him.

Nan (panting): see Manik..there is no point of running..give it back to me.

Man (panting): thts what i m saying. There is no point in running behind me. We both know u wont b able to catch me. So just let me read it once n i promise..i will give it back to u. Dont u trust me Nandini?

Nandini looks into his eyes n finds a strange twinkle in them. She unknowingly nods her head.

Nan: i trust u Manik.

Man: yippeee..now let me read them. I swear i havent read such beautiful lines before.

Manik goes n lies down on the couch..reading the book. Nandini smiles at him n goes n sits beside him. After a while when Manik completes the book..he turns towards Nandini

Man: these r simply amazing Nandini..

Nandini just lowers her head n shakes her head..with a shy smile playing on her lips.

Man: but y ddnt u complete them?

Nandini's smile falters but soon she composes herself

Nan: i couldn't

Manik noticed that change on her. He ddnt wish to push her forward so he just turned his head towards the sky..which was beautifully adorned by twinkling stars.

Seeing Manik lost in stars..Nandini asks him..

Nan: u really like stars..dont u?

Man: i m attracted to them. I dnt knw what it is..but whenever i look upto them..there is some strange peace that i feel. Its like i dont need to say or express anything to them..they know it all already..n they r always out there to help me..to hold me. its like a silent support that they offer.. as if telling me that even if 1 star is dull..many around that dull star twinkle more bright to pass on their light to the dull one. They r simply mesmerizing.

Nandini noticed how a beautiful smile was adorning Manik's face while talking about his favorite stars.

Nandini opens her eyes with a smile..

Nan: yes..now i knw what to gift u..Mikku....
