Tarush: i want fab5. I want my lost hope back..that is my wish.

Every member of fab5 had tears rolling down their cheeks. They never had imagined that someone would pin their hopes on them upto this extent.. they had no idea that even after stepping down from music since 2 yrs, people would still remember them.

Nandini was observing them keenly..she was trying to understand their inner turmoil..seeing their tears, one thing she got sure of was that no one among them was happy after leaving their music. She then turned towards Manik n saw him looking down, trying to hide his tears. She was eagerly waiting for their reply.

On the other hand, Manik was completely lost after hearing Tarush' wish.. he wanted to fulfill his wish but he simply couldnt. He was in dilemma. He knew he wont b able to sing anymore, he ddnt have that courage to sing again. He knew he had not only taken music away from himself, but from his friends too. He tried explaining them to continue without him,, but what is that friendship for if u cant stand with each other in hard times. He was about to say no when Nandini's voice echoed in his ears..

If u have something that gives u peace, that gives u happiness, that connects ur happiness with ur dear one's happiness..dont let that choice go. Seeing u happy not only gives u happiness..but also to those who love u..who wish to see u happy..
We r defined by our choices Manik..n its U who has to make a definition for urself. Choose wisely..

Cabir was the first one to come out of their trance. He sees towards Manik and then towards other members of fab5.

Cab: u were ryt champ. This wish of urs is not easy for us. Sorry champ, but we can't. .

Man: we can do it. (Interrupting Cabir)

Fab4 turn their heads towards Manik in utter shock..so does Nandini. But dep inside she got extremely happy. Tarush, whose face had fell on hearing Cabir was now elated.

Tar: sachiii me?

Man (smiling lightly): muchii me..

Cab (to Manik): manik..i hope u knw what u r saying. Listen..its ok..we can make him understand. .u dont have to do it when u dont want it.

Man: but i want it Cabir. Enough of running away.  (Stands up)
What say guys..lets get the fab5 charm back...

And puts his hand forward..
Fab4 get extremely happy on hearing Manik.. the tears which were till now of disappointment and pain were now of utter happiness. They immediately put their hands on Manik..saying all together..

Fab4: lets do it...again.

Manik then turns towards Tarush

Man: we will fulfill ur wish Tarush..but only half of it.

Tar: why?

Man: coz my dear champ..we dont have our instruments here..so u wont b able to see Aliya on keyboard..or Mukti on electric guitar..Cabir on drums, Dhruv or me on guitar..but yes..u will see Aliya smiling, u will see Mukti in attitude, u will see Cabir swaying, dhruv being lost and u will see ME performing..singing..for U.

Tar (getting super happy): but u can fulfill my complete wish.

Cab: how?

Tar: coz i have all instruments that u play. Come i will show u.

Tarush takes fab5 to a nearby room where musical instruments were kept. Fab5 get shocked.

Muk: but how come u have all these instruments?

Tar: i love music..n i used to listen to ur music daily. I told Angel di that even i want to become a musician..so she got me all these instruments.

Fab5 were completely out of words. They ddnt knw what to say..they just couldnt stop themselves but praise Nandini for being such a selfless soul..how she takes care of each n every wish of every child in orphanage.
They were roaming around n seeing the instruments. .it was a different feeling for them.. MUSIC..which was their heart of life..their identity..their passion..their first love..seeing that again after 2 long years was giving them strange satisfaction. They were brought out of their land by Tarush..

Tar: sorry..i knw utna acha nahi hoga jaise aap log use kerte the..but abhi ye hi hai..

Al: hey champ..u dnt need to say sorry..all this is so beautiful..u cant imagine how happy we r feeling.

Dhr: aliya is ryt champ. These r perfect..n i guess new too..ryt?

Tar: haan..new to hai..Angel di ne kal hee to laay
(N then bits his tongue)

Fab5 were still in their gaze..looking at the instruments..but there was 1 pair of ears that heard what Tarush had said....Manik. He was surprised..or rather amused that Nandini had arranged all this yesterday. He was looking around when he found a violin..which was looking old..

Man: champ..wo violin kiska hai?

Tar: Angel di ka.

Man (surprised): Nandini violin bajaati hai?

Tar: pata nahi..lekin jab wo aayi thi tab unke saath sirf ye Violin aur Arohi thi.

Man (confused): aayi thi matlab? Kaha se aayi thi?

Tar: mujhe nahi pata. Wo 2 saal pehle aayi thi yaha. Tabse wo meri angel di ban gayi hai. Ab plz jaldi kariye na..mujhe aapko sunna hai.

Manik got confused on knowing about Nandini.

Man (self talk): Nandini yaha 2 saal pehle hee aayi hai? Matlab wo hamesha se yaha nahi rehti thi.. to phir wo rehti kaha thi? Aur Arohi..usse Nandini ka kya connection hai?

Cab: manik..kya soch raha hai? U sure u wanna do this?

Man: ah..yes Cabir..lets go for it.

Every member of fab5 carry their respective instrument with pride and a completely different smile on their faces...and go out in the garden.

Fab5 start setting their instruments. All the children, Choti maa and Navni get settled in the garden to see fab5 perform live. Amidst all this..Nandini's gaze was fixed on Manik and his every move. She found Manik to b a little distracted..a little nervous..a little confused..a little hesistant. She saw him unable to start playing his guitar. She found fab4 all set waiting for Manik to give his signal. All her doubts got confirmed when she heard Manik say..

Man: guys..i need some time.

Muk: i dnt think Manik music play ker paayga.

Al: me too..it is very difficult for him to again start music.

Cab: i will go n check on him.

Dhr: i will come with u.

Cabir and Dhruv were going behind Manik when they saw Nandini too going behind him. They looked at each other n decided to see what Nandini is planning to do.

Manik after leaving the garden area came to the backyard n sat on a bench. He had covered his face with his palms. Nandini found him and silently came and sat next to him. On sensing someone's presence, Manik turns his head in that direction n finds Nandini sitting there. He turns his head again n looks straight.

Man: i cant play Music..not anymore.

Nan: then dont.

Man: but i dnt want to break Tarush' heart, his wish, his hope.

Nan: u knw Mr. Malhotra..jab champ ne kaha k he wants to walk..he wants to fly..tab all i had in my mind was to make him walk..even if it was for a little time..but i wanted him to feel that happiness that he was craving for. So i decided to be his feet for that little time. Trust me..jab choti maa ne wo belt baandha..i was scared.

Manik turns his head towards her..but she was still looking straight.

Nan: yes..i was scared..scared to take the first step..scared of many thoughts that were coming in my mind..what if i fall..then champ would fall too..what if he gets hurt..what if i wont b able to balance us..what if i fail to get him that happiness..i fail HIM.. but then when i saw him..his eyes had that faith on me..he had that belief on me that i wont fail him. He had that hope in his eyes which were pinned on me..he was eagerly waiting for that happiness..not for once he was scared..coz he trusted me..and that gave me the courage to take the first step.
(Turning towards Manik)
U too need that courage Mr. Malhotra..just take the first step..n u will find it easy to complete ur steps. Believe me..u wont fall..coz u have 4 strong pillars to support u..to hold u if u get imbalanced..to stand with u..to encourage u. U have fab5 with u.. its just one step Mr. Malhotra..just one step..and i m sure u r strong enough for this step.

She stands up to leave when he holds her wrist n stops her..

Man: how r u so sure?

Nan (turning back n looking at him..in his eyes): coz i believe in U.

Manik's grip on her wrist loosens and Nandini then goes away from there.

Manik smiles on recalling Nandini's words..
Man: she believes in me..

Dhruv and Cabir were too surprised and amazed to see how easily and smoothly Nandini spoke to Manik.

Dhr: yaar ye Nandini hai kya? She is simply amazing. How easily she managed buddy.. n buddy too..how easily he shared it with her. She is...

Cab: Angel..! Truly an Angel. Finally Uparwale ne meri sunli.

Dhr (confused): kya sunli?

Cab: kuch nahe..chod..chal..ab Manik baba zaroor aayenge..n music b bajaayenge..

Cabir n Dhruv reach the ground next to Aliya n Mukti.

Muk: Manik kaha hai?

Man: yaha hai.

They turn back to find Manik approaching them with a smile.

Man: so ready guys? Lets rock it.

Fab5 get a wide smile on their faces.

Manik occupies the centre place with Cabir And Aliya on his left and Dhruv and Mukti on his right.

Man: champ..though we r performing for ur wish..but this song is for fab5..my friends.

Manik closes his eyes n says slowly:
Just one step Mr. Malhotra..u r strong for this step.

N with that he starts strumming his guitar. Fab4 get their signals n they start with their respective works.

Manik then starts singing..

I'll be alright..i'll be alright..

(Sorry dear readers..i m no good with the music n lyrics..so cant give u those..but will try to give u the atmosphere of their performance..hope i succeed to some extent..if not..m sorry in advance)

Manik opens his eyes and looks around to see fab4. He sees a different encouraging smile on their faces. This boosts him up and he got his confidence of singing in his way..in his attitude. While singing..he goes around every member of fab5..n gets happier and happier on seeing that smiles on their faces..with tears of happiness in their eyes.

Fab5 then come down n move around Tarush..keeping him in centre..n then they start moving around other kids too..who were enjoying their performance to the core.. little little small kids were swaying their hands and heads with the music..enjoying it thoroughly.
Navya too was enjoying very much..she was surprised to see that fab5 r so talented.
All this while..Nandini was recording their performance. .with a genuine big smile on her face.
Manik then goes to Arohi n carries her in his arms n starts dancing with her..she giggles and laughs..which fills Manik's heart with content.
With this..their performance comes to an end.

All start clapping loudly for them..but the loudest was that of Tarush. Fab5 come to Tarush..

Dhr: so champ..has ur wish been fulfilled?

Tarush just nods his head in positive with tears in his eyes.

Man: hey champ..y r u crying? Ddnt u like the performance?

Tar: i loved it.

Cab: then y r u crying?

Tar: coz i never thought u will perform..wo b mere liye. Aaj tak Angel di aur choti maa k alaawa kisi ne hamare liye kuch b nahi kiya..aur kabhi zarurat b nahi padhi..lekin aaj aap sab ne itna kiya hamare liye..aaj aapne mujhe ek aur new hope de di..now me aur strong hogaya..thank u..thank u Manik bhaiyya.. thank u fab5. Aap log best ho..
Nai best nai..jaise Angel di kehti hai..

Fab5 laugh out with such praise..

Nan: ehemmm

Fab5 turn back to find Navni and Choti maa standing there.

C.m: wah bacho..kitna acha gaaya tum logo ne. Kitni meethi aur pyari awaaz hai tumhari. Humesha aise hee gaate rehna. Bohot acha lagta hai.

Fab5 couldnt say anything but their smiles with tears were enough to convey their feelings.

Nav: haan sach me..hume nahi pata tha k aap log me itne hunar chupe huwe hai. Bohot acha gaaya aap logo ne.

Nan: thank u fab5. Thank u for making this day very special for everyone present here.. trust me..no kid of this orphanage would ever forget u. Thank u again.

Dhr: y r u thanking us Nandini. It should be us thanking u.

Cab:  haan Nandini. U have no idea what u have done for us today. U gave us that peace which was lost somewhere.

Nan: i ddnt do anything. Its all ur hardwork and talent. Anyways..its quite late now.. m sorry u guys got late. U can leave if u want.

C.m: leave matlab? Kyu leave karenge? Aise kaise leave karenge?

Nan: choti maa..kaafi der hogai hai..inhe aur b kaam hai..to me..

C.m: tu chup ker Nanda. Ek to itna kaam kiya inlogo ne..aur ab aise hee leave kerne ko bol rahi hai..me inhe leave nahi kerne dungi..

Nan: lekin choti maa..

C.m: kaha na..ye log aise nahi jaayenge..lunch ka waqt hai pehle lunch kerenge phir jaayenge.

Cab: haaash.... ye huwi na pate ki baat..mujhe laga yaha koi khaana hee nahi khaata hai..aunty..mujhe bohot bhook lagi hai..chalo jaldi jaldi lunch kerte hai.

Fab4: bhukkadd...

Cab: i dnt care.. chalo aunty hum chalte hai.

C.m: haan beta..chalo..nanda..in sab ko le aa.

Nan (closing her eyes in irritation): phir Nanda?!!!!!

C.m: jaldi kar Nandaaaaaaa..

Fab5 and navya chuckle.

Nandini turns at them n glares..all keep quite. She starts walking with fab4 and navya following her.
They reach the dining area and were surprised to see the area. From no angle they found this orphanage to be lacking in something. It had everything to give u a feel of living a lavish life but in a sober way.

Muk: wow aunty. Aapka dining area kaafi pretty hai.

Al: yes aunty..its an amazing idea..garden cum dining area..its so peaceful.

C.m: amazing kaise nahi hoga..idea Nanda ka jo hai.

All turn towards Nandini..making her conscious.

C.m: aur sirf ye area hee nahi..yaha ka poora interiors Nanda ne hee kiya hai..sabke pasand ko khayal me rakhte huwe..tabhi toh ye orphanage ek anaat aashram nahi ghar hai.

Nan: me khaana lagwaati hu.

N she rushes to the kitchen. After some time..Nandini comes out with food with Navya helping her. All settle down to eat when Nandini moves towards the garden.

Nav: nandu..tum kaha jaa rahi ho? Tum bhi hmare saath betho.

Nan: wo Navya..khaane se pehle mujhe kisi aur ko khilaana hai..werna wo kuch nhi khaayegi.

Nav: koun?

C.m: wahi..iski jaan..waise to saare bache iski jaan hai..lekin ye special hai..wo iski jaan hai aur ye uski..dono ek dusre se sabse zyada attached hai. Lo aagayi.

They turn to see Arohi hugging Nandini from her legs. Nandini smiles and bends down n carries her n kisses her hard on cheeks.

Ar: eeee..aapto pata hai meto atha nee ladta.. (aapko pata hai meko acha nai lagta)

Nan: oops..shorrry..

Ar: boooti booti lagi hai..thaana do na mama (bhooki bhooki lagi hai..khaana do na mama)

Fab5 n Navya get shocked on hearing Arohi calling Nandini mama.

Man(self talk): mama?!! Arohi nandini ki beti hai? Ye kaise ho sakta hai? Nandini to khud abhi choti hai..she is only 19. And arohi b to kamsekam 3 saal ki hai. How is this possible? Nandini ki bachi kaise hosakti hai?

Nan: haan mama ki jaan..abhi khaate hai..chalo.

She settles down with Arohi in her lap. N starts feeding her from her plate.

C.m: kya huwa bacho..khaao na.

Nav: mama? Nandu..Arohi tumhe mama .... lekin wo toh tumhe best friend bolti hai na?

Nan: kuch b bolne se rishta to nahi badalta na.

This confuses them more.

C.m: haan..aur Arohi ki best friend to nanda hee hai.. wo to bas...

Nan: Ruhiii..ruhiii ruko..bacha khaana khatam karo..

Arohi had jumped from Nandini's lap n was running around the dining area. .causing Nandini too to chase her..n this interrupted choti maa's talk.

C.m: hogaya shuru inka. Ye hamesha aisa hee kerti hai. Arohi ko Nanda ka yu pamper kerna bohot pasand hai..isiliye wo jaan booj ke use sataati hai..wo jaanti hai nanda kabhi use chodegi nahi. Aap log khaana khaao..inka to ab aise hee chalega.

Nav: bohot pyaar kerti hai na Nandu Arohi se.

C.m: jitna ek maa apne bache se kerti hai..

Manik gets weird bad feeling on hearing these talks..he wasnt able to digest that Arohi is Nandini's daughter. He somewhere hoped all this to b a misconception..but y was he hoping this..he ddnt have any idea.
Cabir was all the time observing him. He too was shocked to hear all this..but instead of jumping on the conclusion..he thought of clearing it with Choti maa.

Here..Nandini and arohi were running everywhere in the orphanage. Nandini used to catch hold of Arohi and feed her 1 morsel..n then let her roam around..till then Nandini slows down her pace to give her time to chew her food. This continued till Nandini completed arohi's plate. Now Arohi was sleepy..she gestured Nandini to carry her. Nandini carried her in her arms..n arohi put her head on Nandini's shoulder n slept peacefully.

All went aww on them when nandini entered the dining area.

C.m: sogai?

Nan: haan..aur kya kaam hai..pehle mujhe bhagaa bhagaa k thakaaya..aur ab araam se sogai..

C.m: haan haan..jaise tujhe to bilkul mazaa nahi aata na. Agar thakaa hee deti hai to kyu ek daant nahi lagaati ise.

Nan: ise daantne ka haq kisi ko nahi hai..mujhe b nahi. Aur ye mere saamne hee to tantrums dikhaati hai..to kerne do na.

C.m: sirf ye her nahi..yaha sab tere hee saamne tantrums dikhaate hai.

Nan: haan wo to hai..aur un sab me aap b aate ho.

C.m: ab kya karu? Tune hume pamper kerke bohot sar pe chadaa diya hai..

Nandini smiles listening her choti maa talking like this.

Cab: thank u aunty..khaana bohot hee zyada tasty tha.. mazaa aagaya. Ab to me kabhi bhi yaha aake aapke haatho ka khaana khaane aajaunga..khilaaoge na..khaas ker ye butter chicken?

C.m: tum kabhi bhi aa sakte ho. Lekin khaana..khaas ker ye butter chicken..to tumhe tab khilaaungi jab Nanda hogi..kyunki banaaya to usne hai na..

All r again surprised to knw that nandini had cooked.

Cab: Nandini..tumne pakaaya ye? Yaar tum to complete package ho. Waise bohot tasty tha. Kyu Manik?

Man: huh?

Cab: huh kya huh? Mene kaha Nandini ne butter chicken bohot tasty banaaya tha. Tujhe kya lagta hai?

Man (somewhat angry): mujhe lagta hai hume late horaha hai so we should leave.

Nan (self talk): ise kya hogaya? Abhi tak to theek the.

Muk: haan aunty..aaj k liye thank u very much.

Al: aur hum wapis zaroor aayenge.

C.m: zaroor aana..ise apna hee ghar samajhna.

Nav: acha nandu..hum b chalte hai.

Nan: ah Navya..ruko.. mujhe b kaam pe jaana hai..me tumhe drop kerdungi. Bas arohi ko sulaa k aati hu.

Nav: theek hai..hum wait kerte hai.

Fab5 bid bye n were leaving when choti maa calls out from back..
Manik!

Man: ji aunty.

Choti maa goes to him n with love and affectionate..she places her hand on Manik's head and blesses him.

C.m: thank u beta

Man (confused): kisliye?

C.m: waise to bohot kuch kiya tumne..jaise donuts laay..arohi ki wish poori ki (giggles)..aur phir tarush k liye perform b kiya..lekin ye thank u in sab k liye nahi hai

Man: to phir?

C.m: ye thank u hai meri beti k chehre pe hasi laane k liye. Nandini ko hasaane k liye. Jab se nandini aayi hai..tab se aaj pehli baar use khulke haste huwe dekha..bilkul waise jaise wo pehle hasaa kerti thi. Aaj tumne woh hasi deke mujhe 2 saal pehle waali nandini ki jhalak dikhaa di.

Saying so she leaves from there..manik on one hand was happy to know tht he was the reason behind Nandini's laughter..n on other hand he was confused.. what must have happened 2 years ago?

With these thoughts..he makes a move out of the orphanage..after bidding bye to all the kids.

Cabir follows choti maa n calls her out when he finds her alone.

Cab: aunty..aapse kuch baat kerni thi.
