What seemed like a blessing turned to a curse. In his case, it was both.

Hitoshi Shinso has been perceived as evil due to his quirk for as long as he can remember. His quirk is known as "brainwashing", he could mentally control anyone who responds to him.

But a hero who brainwashes people? It wasn't exactly a quirk suitable for hero work. Because of this, he was discriminated, even feared because of his ability.

Amidst the negative comments he's received so far, this didn't become an obstacle to his dream in entering U.A high school and becoming a hero. And he was able to study at his dream school but not in the hero course...

Why did he end up in the general studies course instead? The answer is simple: he wasn't qualified to be in the hero course. After all, he couldn't use his power to fight robots. He wasn't the most athletic either.

He was an outcast in the world full of people with flashy and cool quirks. That was the harsh reality he lived in...

"Sh..i..nso.."

"..?"

"Shinso!" the presence raised his voice, the lavender headed male slowly lifted his head up. Looking up at his teacher who had an annoyed and angry expression on his face.

Oh, he's been sleeping in class again.

It was a habit for him considering he doesn't get enough sleep at night. It's no surprise to see the large bags lingering under his eyes.

The teacher's eyes soften a bit after looking at Shinso's worn out look. He knew the poor boy has been through a lot and felt bad.

"..Shinso, are you getting enough sleep? I'm worried."

Hitoshi lets out a sigh, "I'm okay, sensei. I'll pay closer attention next time."

"I know, but you have been doing this for a while now. And just because you're tired is not an excuse to keep it up. Stay after school later." said the teacher and went back to his previous lecture.

Great, detention was one of the worst things in the world. Could this day get any worse?

Classes soon ended and everyone was already packed up to go home. Except for Shinso, he remained motionless in his seat. His face rested on his hand, as he scribbled on his notebook. He might as well draw while waiting for his period in detention to end.

His classmates left the room. It was only him that remained.

Or so he thought.

"Shinso?"

He looked up, eyes locking with beautiful (Eye Colored) eyes. Ah, it was her. (Name) (Surname). His fellow classmate, who also, had a villainous quirk.

Her quirk allowed her to paralyze anyone when she looks directly into their eyes. The effect happens only is she activates it and is undone by physical contact.

The teachers feared her, schoolmates feared her. Everyone did. They always remember to keep their heads down, gaze looking elsewhere.

What did she want with him?

"Can I sit next to you?"

Shinso didn't mind, "go ahead."

"Do you need anything?" he asked curiously.

She smiled, "Sensei told me to watch after you but other than that, I came here of my own resort."

"And what would that be?"

"You seemed lonely." Well, she wasn't wrong about that. But Shinso didn't think he needed any friends, after all, who would want to be friends with him?

"I could say the same for you." He replied, clearly not caring about his own words. "I guess you could say that.."

"Can we be friends?"

His eyes widened a bit, mouth agape. He wasn't expecting that.

But he didn't need friends. His so called "friends" in the past was only fascinated by him and threw him away like a doll.

Shinso was about to say no but looked into her eyes. There was a hint of sadness hidden in them, but most of all - a longing for something, love and understanding perhaps.

Everyone feared (Name) but he failed to understand why. How could anyone be scared of such beautiful eyes.

And he didn't realize it, but the same feelings were hidden in his lavender orbs as well.

Snapping out of her gaze, in a low whisper he replied with:

"Sure."

This simply made her smile grow wider.

"Thank you, Shinso-kun!"

It was strange. Everyone looked at them in a certain way, but they looked at each other as if they understood one another. As if they went through the same hardships. After all...

They were two broken people with cursed quirks.
