Chapter 3: Trouble at UA
~~A/N: Just gonna post this like I didn't abandon this story way too quickly and with very little to show for it.~~~
Midoriya Izuku
"It is a training ground that I made with different types of accidents and disasters. Welcome to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint or USJ," Thirteen told the whole class.
'It really is USJ,' the whole class thought.
"Woah, this is huge!" some of your classmates exclaimed.
"This looks so cool!" Uraraka beamed.
"Yeah, it never ceases to amaze me," you said with a smile.
"What? You've been here before?" Midoriya asked, surprised.
"I-I mean, I've seen it before! But I've never actually been inside," you reiterated nervously.
"Everyone I am sure you are aware of my Quirk, Black Hole. I can suck up anything and turn it to dust," Thirteen told everyone.
You zoned out as you had a weird feeling in the pit of your stomach.
"Has it started already?" A girl beside Bakugo asked.
A few people gasped and looked around.
"Gather around and don't move!" Aizawa-sensei instructed. "Thirteen protect the students!"
"I can feel them," you whispered.
You felt injuries appearing. The class turned to the front and saw what looked like a black hole in the middle. People were coming out of it.
"Those are villains," Aizawa-sensei told everyone.
"They are all perfectly healthy except for a paper-cut here and there," you told him.
"How do you know that Shuzenji-chan?" Midoriya-kun asked.
You glanced at Aizawa for a split second, but he kept his focus on the villains.
Deciding that telling the truth was the best option you replied with "It's part of my quirk."
"A secluded area away from the main campus. An attack when a class is supposed to be here. They may be fools, but they're not dumb. Everything was carefully planned with a set goal in mind," Todoroki said aloud.
"Thirteen, start the evacuation. Kaminari, try to contact the school with your quirk," Aizawa-sensei said as his hair began to float along with his scarf.
"What about you sir? Will you fight by yourself? With that many, even if you erase their Quirks. Eraser Head's fighting style is to capture after erasing a person's quirk," Midoriya voiced his concern.
"You can't be a hero with just one trick," Aizawa-sensei replied. "I'm leaving it to you, Thirteen."
And with that he was gone. He jumped off and into the crowd of villains.
"Everyone, head toward the entrance," Thirteen instructed.
Your classmates headed back but you and Midoriya continued watching Aizawa-Sensei.
"Aizawa-sensei is actually good at fighting by himself against a lot of people, huh?" Midoriya commented.
"He's a Pro after all," you praised.
"Shuzenji! Midoriya! Hurry up!" Iida called the two of you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Bakugo and Kirishima jumped in to fight the warp guy, you ended up in the fire zone with Ojiro-kun. Ojiro picked you up and placed you in a building with the least amount of fire and led the villains away.
"I'm sorry Ojiro-kun. I'm useless in a fight," you apologized once he came back.
You placed a hand above his tail to heal the bruises.
"Don't worry about it. Your quirk, what can it do exactly?" He asked.
"I can teleport near an injured living thing and heal them. I can also tell what kind of injury it is most of the time," you admitted. "The only thing I'm really good at is healing but even then, I can't do anything about your stamina. You might feel better physically, but mentally you're still tired."
"Hey, hey, it's okay. We're all good at something different," he stopped your rambling and calmed you down.
You smiled and nodded.
"How far can you teleport? Can you sense anyone outside of this simulation?" He asked.
"I can try," you told him.
"I'll keep fighting them off until you find something," he said and jumped off.
You closed your eyes and concentrated. There were a few injured bodies close, but they were only a few meters away, so they were probably the villains Ojiro defeated. After a few minutes you picked up various bodies in three different areas. The middle area had the most injuries.
"That must be Aizawa-sensei," you concluded.
You stood up and looked around. Ojiro must have gone farther away because you couldn't see him. You tried to find him by looking for any newly injured bodies. You teleported and found yourself between four villains.
"Shuzenji-chan, stay back!" Ojiro said and put an arm in front of you.
You grabbed his arm and teleported. You looked around and saw Aizawa-sensei surrounded by 4 villains while holding his injured arm. You let go of Ojiro and started running toward your teacher.
"Aizawa-sensei!" You yelled and teleported without thinking.
"Shuzenji, wait!" Ojiro called after you.
"Go back to the others!" Aizawa instructed.
"I'll go as soon as I'm done!" you promised and grabbed his arm.
"What you're good at is a short fight after a surprise attack, right? Even so you jumped right in to fight us from the front. Was that to put your students at ease?" the villain commented.
You carefully watched the villain that was talking. The rest of them seemed to be waiting so he was probably the leader. Right as you were done the other villains decided to attack. Aizawa-sensei quickly pulled you away and smacked the villains, still tired but at least no longer in pain.
"Healing? That's interesting," the villain mumbled.
Aizawa managed to defeat the villains while still holding on to you.
"You're so cool. You're so cool," Handsy praised creepily.
"Shuzenji, get out of here now," Aizawa instructed.
"I'm trying," you replied, your head beginning to pound from all the teleporting you did.
"By the way, hero, I'm not the final boss," the villain revealed.
"Shuzenji stay back!" Aizawa-sensei said and pushed you out of the way before a large bird-like villain came in and grabbed his head.
Blood went everywhere.
"Aizawa-sensei!" You screamed.
You accidentally teleported a few yards away into the shore of the shipwreck island. As soon as you fell in you tried to climb out, but you were too weak.
"Shuzenji-chan!" Midoriya called your name as he held you back.
"I have to help," you managed to gasp.
You could barely keep your eyes open. Your senses were failing you. But you could hear something being smashed on the ground over and over again. Each time made your head pound more.
"Aizawa-sensei," Midoriya whispered.
You continued to lean against Midoriya for who knows how long. Your head was beginning to feel a little better.
"They're going home? Did he say they're going home?" You could hear Mineta-kun asking.
"That's what I heard... I have a bad feeling about this Midoriya," Tsuyu-chan said.
"Yeah, for them to suddenly retreat without doing anything..." Midoriya replied.
You could sense an abrasion coming closer so you looked up and saw the villain reaching for Tsuyu's face. With what little strength you had you managed to push her away, but now you were in her spot. Your eyes opened up and your body froze, too tired to teleport away in time. You could faintly feel the villain's dry fingertips graze your face, but nothing else happened. The villain turned and complemented Aizawa.
"You really are cool, Eraser Head," he said before turning back to you. "Good thing too. You're one I'd rather take then destroy."
You felt Midoriya move from beside you and jump toward the villain.
"Let go of her!" he yelled.
He managed to hit him, creating a strong gust of wind due to the sheer amount of power he used. But the other villain got in the way. And he didn't seem affected by the hit at all.
"Your "Smash". Are you a follower of All Might's?" Handsy asked.
The other villain grabbed Midoriya's arm. Handsy reached for Mineta and Tsuyu's faces. Tsuyu stretched her tongue out to grab Midoriya, you stretched your arm behind her to grab Mineta, and used all the power you could muster to teleport the four of you to where Aizawa was. In that instant the doors exploded, and All Might walked in.
"It's fine now! I am here!" he declared.
Bakugo Katsuki
"— However, please don't forget that there are many quirks that can kill with one wrong step. This class is a new start, you shall learn to use your quirk to save other's lives. That is all thank you for listening," Thirteen said and bowed.
"That was amazing! Bravo! Bravo!" The class cheered.
"All right then, first—" Aizawa-sensei said when the lights turned off.
"Has it already started?" You asked Katsuki as you noticed the lights flickering.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Villains had infiltrated USJ— which you felt was suspiciously easy. After Aizawa jumped into the crowd of villains you were all led back toward the main entrance until a villain stood in your way. You noticed a quick movement to your right.
"Katsuki! Kirishima! Don't get in the way!" You yelled, but it was too late.
The explosion from Kacchan's palms created a smoke wall and you couldn't see anything. You coughed and tried to clear your throat. The villain warped some of your classmates away, clearing some of the smoke in the process. Luckily, you somehow managed to be far enough away from the villain so he didn't warp you away.
"Why does he never listen to me," you sighed, irritated.
The rest of the class started to panic, calling out to the ones who were warped away.
"Everyone! Calm down. These villains aren't reckless enough to take us out of here. We might contact Pros if we do, so they're probably somewhere in USJ," You said then turned to the villain. "Right?"
Thirteen used the distraction to use her quirk on the villain, but he turned it around by making her use it on herself. Iida made a run for the door when the villain warped himself in front of him. Thankfully, Shoji grabbed the villain before he could damage her too much.
While that was unfolding you ran back toward the stairs to look at Aizawa-sensei. This was your chance to help him without the villain noticing. The rest of the class could handle him. You ran down the stairs, going a bit further than half-way.
"Aizawa-sensei!" You yelled and threw two ear plugs at him.
He used his binds to catch them and continued fighting. When he finally caught a small break, he turned to see you were getting closer.
"Stay there!" He yelled.
You grabbed some mini radios from your pocket and threw them near the villains.
"What is that?" A villain asked and jumped back.
They were careful, you had to give them that. You pressed a button on your watch and saw the timer. 8 hours and 23 minutes, that should be more than enough time. A lullaby started playing from the speakers.
"Music?" Another villain questions.
Aizawa sighed and put the ear plugs in his ears while he swung a villain around. You grabbed your microphone and began to sing. Villains started dropping left and right. You started to feel lightheaded from using so much air and your throat started to itch.
"Since one of you escaped, I can be a lot more flexible with your destination," the warp villain stated from behind you.
You didn't have enough energy left to react as he flew toward you. He was a few inches away when you were pulled out of the way. You looked to the side and noticed Yanagi was grabbing you by the arms.
"Yanagi..." You mumbled, your voice a bit hoarse.
Yanagi was a quiet girl in your class. You hadn't talked to her yet, but you respected her for being the second-best girl in the apprehension test. Her quirk Had something to do with ghosts which you imagined was why she was able to fly you back to the group.
"Sorry for grabbing you like that," she replied quietly.
You turned back to see the warp villain had disappeared.
"Are you okay, (Y/N)-san?" Ashido asked, kneeling beside you.
"I just need some air and a drink," you replied.
Someone else said something, but you didn't quite hear what. You took out a tea packet from your pocket and drank it, feeling it sooth your throat. After a few minutes of breathing, you were able to get closer to the stairs to see how Aizawa-sensei was doing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Let go of her!" Izuku screamed.
He jumped up and pulled his arm back to fight the villain. His punch was so powerful that the entire building shook. But it wasn't enough. The bird villain stood in between them and didn't seem phased. You looked around until you found Aizawa bleeding, surrounded by villains.
"Aizawa-sensei!" You screamed.
The doors exploded behind you. You turned back and found All Might.
"It's fine now. I am here!" He proclaimed.
As soon as you heard his words you smiled. You knew he would save the rest of your class. In an instant he picked up Aizawa, and grabbed Izuku, Shuzenji, Tsuyu, Ojiro, and Mineta.
You noticed Shuzenji was leaning on Tsuyu seemingly exhausted from using her quirk but didn't seem to be injured. All Might turned back to fight the villains while Tsuyu, Mineta, Ojiro, and Izuku carried Shuzenji and Aizawa-sensei back. The smoke cleared and you could see the warp villain had interfered.
"All Might," you whispered.
He was bleeding. You looked back at the group knowing that Izuku wouldn't just stand back and watch. Shuzenji let go of Tsuyu and stood up by herself although she wobbled a bit. Tsuyu and Ojiro grabbed Aizawa-sensei as Izuku ran toward All Might. Shuzenji touched Aizawa-sensei's forehead and you could see all of his wounds healing. After she was done she disappeared.
"Get in there and fight you coward!" You could hear Bakugo's voice in the back of your head.
"Why am I wishing he was here right now?" You mumbled.
You turned back to All Might and saw Bakugo using his quirk on the warp villain. Shuzenji was kneeling on top of All Might, placing a hand on his side. Bird-brain tried to grab her, but he was frozen by Todoroki. All Might used the opportunity to jump away with Shuzenji.
"Hey, isn't that Tsuyu with Mineta, Ojiro, and Aizawa-sensei?" Uraraka asked.
You looked down and saw Aizawa-sensei trying to walk with Tsuyu, Ojiro, and Mineta. You ran down to help them.
'If only these stairs weren't so long,' you thought when you saw Shuzenji was teleporting frantically.
"If they catch her, All Might will be forced to surrender himself," you told yourself as you saw the main villain following her movements.
Yanagi flew past you and picked Aizawa, carefully flying him back to the entrance. Uraraka and Sato were also on their way to Tsuyu, Ojiro, and Mineta, so you ran past them and closer to where Shuzenji was teleporting. If you remembered correctly her quirk teleported her toward injured people. You seemed to be correct as you observed how she teleported randomly, but always next to a villain on the ground. Even though there was no guarantee that she would teleport to you, you still had to try something. You bit your hand and drew blood while you ran closer. She teleported around a few more times before ending up right beside you. Without wasting a second, you grabbed her and blew some air in her face making her fall asleep.
"Katsuki, Izuku! You better not get hurt or else you'll have to answer to me!" you exclaimed and carried Shuzenji back to the entrance.
"Stop nagging and get out of here!" Bakugo retorted with a tsk, taking only a second to turn back to look at you.
His furrowed eyebrows expressed annoyance, but if you didn't know any better you would say that his eyes showed some relief.
Todoroki Shoto
"Out of all the places I could have ended up in, why did I end up here with them?" You silently cried to yourself.
You back flipped, causing the building's floor to fly up and crush a few villains—not too badly you hoped.
"Oi! Move out of the way!" Bakugo-kun yelled and hit a villain next to you.
"Scary," you mumbled and fake cried as you crouched down.
You stood up again and kicked a piece of wall toward another villain. Within a few minutes Bakugo-kun and Kirishima-kun had taken care of all the villains.
"You guys are amazing," you praised in awe.
Todoroki-kun and Midoriya-kun weren't the only ones with amazing quirks. Everyone in Class 1-A was amazing!
"Tsk," Bakugo-kun breathed.
"We should go look for the others. I'm worried about the ones with less offensive abilities," Kirishima-kun commented.
"Yeah, we don't know how powerful the villains they're facing are," you agreed.
"Besides, if we hadn't stepped, Thirteen could have sucked the warp villain away before we got separated," Kirishima admitted with some guilt.
"Yeah, you did mess up by not waiting," You agreed.
"Shut up!" Bakugo yelled at you. "I'm going after the warp guy."
"What? You're going to be childish at a time like this?" Kirishima argued.
"That warp guy is the entrance and exit!" Bakugo yelled back. "I'm going to cut it off when the time comes!"
You felt a slight shift in the air behind Bakugo.
"Bakugo-kun, there's a villain--," you tried to warn him.
"I know already!" he yelled and grabbed the villain by the head before causing an explosion in his palm.
"Besides, if these are the small fries they sent after us pretty much everyone'll be fine, right?" he added.
'That reaction time is amazing,' you and Kirishima thought.
"Wow, were you always so calm and rational?" you mused thinking back to all the times his screamed in just the short time you've known him.
"I'm always calm and rational, you air-headed punk!" Bakugo yelled at you. "Go if you want!"
"Believing in our classmates. That's very manly of you Bakugo. We'll follow you!" Kirishima replied.
"Yeah! You're scary, but very smart!" You complimented.
Bakugo stared at the two of you for a few seconds. As soon as his eyes landed on you, you started to sweat nervously. Maybe he didn't think you could keep up with him? What if he told you to leave because you'd just be in the way? He then turned and led the way allowing you to breathe again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eventually, the three of you made it out of the simulation. You saw that All Might was in trouble and immediately jumped in to help. Midoriya-kun was about to be warped by the villain when Bakugo-kun attacked.
"Move Deku, you're in the way!" he yelled, pinning the villain down.
The bird villain's body suddenly began to freeze. You turned to see Todoroki.
"All I heard is that you are here to kill All Might. The Symbol of Peace cannot be killed by the likes of you," he told the villains.
You smiled at Todoroki, but only for a moment before turning back to glare at the villains. Kirishima-kun tried to slash the villain with his hands, but he jumped back, so you moved some of the ground up to make the villain lose his balance. Unfortunately, it only lasted a second as he jumped off. You kept kicking the ground to push him up, but he simply jumped off every time, since you couldn't kick fast enough. You looked back and saw Shuzenji-chan teleported next to All Might and healed his injuries. As soon as he was healed, he grabbed her and jumped out of the way.
"Children stay back," All Might instructed.
"All those villains, and the kids are almost all uninjured. Children these days are amazing. They make the League of Villains look bad," Mr. Hands said aloud though it seemed it was just to himself. "Nomu."
The bird villain bent pulled himself from the portal and tried to stand but his right arm and leg broke from the ice. For a second you felt relieved, but he just kneeled and re-grew his lost limbs. He then stood up like nothing happened.
"No way, his quirk wasn't shock absorption?" All Might asked.
"He has more than one quirk," you gathered thinking about yourself and Todoroki-kun.
"I wanted to be the one to reveal that, but yes," he replied rather bored before his voice crescendo in his next sentences, "Nomu is a super-efficient human sandbag!"
The 7 of you stood ready to fight once you heard his intentions. Shuzenji seemed to have overworked herself, but she still stood up.
"First, we need to get back our gate," he added.
Before any of you could react, the villain attacked Bakugo. You were all blown a few feet away.
"Ow," you groaned, holding your foot.
You feared it might be twisted, but at the very least it was sprained. You thought about asking Shuzenji-chan to heal it like she did with All Might. Everything went through your mind in an instant when you remembered why you were blown away in the first place. The smoke dissipated a bit and you could see the Nomu holding on to the Kurogiri--just thinking about their names gave you chills.
'Kacchan/Bakugo-kun!" Midoriya-kun and Shuzenji-chan yelled.
Shuzenji quickly looked to her right and gasped. Midoriya followed her gaze and saw Bakugo on the ground beside them.
"Kacchan?" Midoriya-kun said in surprise.
Shuzenji-chan fell to her knees, her eyes started to tear up, and she disappeared.
"Where'd she go?" you asked and looked around.
"I don't like people who interrupt my monologues, so how about I get rid of you first?" You heard the villain say.
You turned back to look at him, but he was already running toward you. You tried to stand, but with your injured foot you only managed to fall. Todoroki tried to encase him in ice but missed. Without thinking you lifted your hands and moved your arms apart, removing the air around you.
The villain fell to his knees, his hands on the ground. You suddenly had a vision of a young boy gasping for air. You gasped, but with no air around you started to suffocate. Still, your arms remained in place as your body began to cramp up at the loss of oxygen. Todoroki used his ice again, but this time he aimed it at you, pushing you away from the area. You felt your ears pop as air surrounded you once again.
"(L/N)-chan! Are you okay?" Kirishima called to you, but you couldn't reply as you coughed from the sudden amount of air.
"Troublesome quirk," the warp villain said as he took Mr. Hands away.
You stopped coughing, and your blood ran cold as you looked at him slowly sinking away. He touched the ground beside the portal, decaying a large area in a matter of seconds all the while glaring at you. Once he was gone you tried to calm yourself down and slow your breathing. Todoroki and Kirishima made it to your side and helped you stand, but everything hurt. You had cramps all over your body and could barely move. Still, you sucked it in as they took you to where Midoriya and Bakugo were watching the fight between Nomu and All Might.
"There has to be something we can do," Kirishima said.
"No, we'll just be in the way," Bakugo replied, his fists clenched.
Iida Tenya
"Alright everyone, pencils down. I'll collect your tests right now."
"Aww, I'm not done yet," you groaned.
"As long as you get the other ones right you should be fine," your friend, Iida, replied.
When you found out you had the same class as your crush's sister, you were ecstatic. Now you could learn more about him from someone who's known him her whole life. But you found out she was actually a really cool person, so the two of you quickly became friends.
Your teacher's phone rang, and he answered. After a quick conversation he hung up.
"No cheating. I have to leave the room for a bit," he said before leaving.
"We're not in the hero course, so it's okay if I keep answering the questions, right?" you asked.
"I won't tell the teacher," Iida-chan replied. "But I might tell my brother."
"What?! Why would you do that?!" you whined.
"Tenya is a stickler for rules. If you want to get on his good side, I suggest you do the same," she told you.
You pouted and put your pencil down. "I shouldn't have asked you so many questions about him on the first day of school.
*RRRIIIINNNGGG*
"Do we have a fire drill today?" you asked.
"There has been a Level 3 Security Breach. All students please evacuate outside promptly." A voice over the intercom instructed.
"Level 3 Breach?" You asked.
"Someone is trespassing," Iida-chan replied.
Everyone quickly got up and made their way out, but the halls were flooded with other students trying to do the same. You and your classmates were separated in the blink of an eye. Somehow, you were able to push through the front while looking for your friends.
"It's like a mosh pit, isn't it?" you heard someone say from behind you.
You turned your head to see Iida-chan struggling but managing to get to your side. You managed to squeeze your hand out and grabbed her arm. Now, the two of you were side by side, but still getting crushed by the others.
"What's going on? Who could be breaking in?" you asked while pushing someone away.
"Hmm? Nii-chan?" you heard Iida say.
You looked forward and saw her brother floating above the crowd. He pulled his pants up and exposed his engines, using them to propel himself forward. He landed right on the exit sign and started talking to everyone.
"Everyone! Everything is fine!"
Everyone stopped talking and pushing, turning to look up at him.
"It's just the media!" He explained, "There is nothing to panic about. Everything is fine! This is U.A. Let us act in a way befitting the best of the best!"
"Tch. My brother is so cool," Iida said with a proud smile.
"Iida-chan, your brother is amazing," you said absentmindedly, your face red and your eyes lovestruck.
"Wow, you really do have a crush on my brother," she observed.
"He's so perfect, why wouldn't I?" you replied shamelessly.
She laughed and pulled you along.
"Hey, where are we going?" you asked.
"You want to talk to him, don't you?" she replied.
"Wait! Wait! I'm not ready!" you exclaimed.
Faster than you would have liked, you made it to the exit door where Iida-kun was pushing himself down. A girl with pink cheeks and short brown hair was waiting for him along with a boy with green hair and freckles.
"Release," the girl said.
Iida landed on his feet. He sighed and dusted himself off before pulling his pants legs down.
"Iida-kun, you were so cool!" the girl praised him.
"It was all thanks to your help, Uraraka-san," Iida replied with a bow.
"Nii-chan's always cool," your friend said.
"Imoto-san, what are you doing here? Oh, and Yaoyorozu-san is with you too. Pleased to see you again," he said.
"Yeah, I mean, me too," you replied, hoping he couldn't tell your face was three shades darker than normal.
"Imoto-san? Yaoyorozu-san?" his friends asked, surprised.
"Yes, this is my younger sister and this is our Class Vice-Representative's cousin," Iida-kun explained.
"I'm Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you," the green-haired guy introduced himself.
"And I'm Uraraka Ochaco," the brown-haired girl added.
"Momo has mentioned you both, it's nice to officially meet the two of you," you managed to say without stuttering.
You glanced at Iida and saw him smiling as you talked. You wracked your brain for what to do or say until you remembered that you had a small box of chocolates in your pocket. It was empty, but not for long. You took it out, swiping your hand across it, and quickly handed it to him.
"Here! Thank you for calming everyone down. If you hadn't I would become a pancake," you said, your voice slightly higher pitched from nerves.
"Oh, no you don't need to give me anything. I was only doing what I thought was best," Iida replied, trying to give you back the box.
"And you managed to save me once again, Hero-kun," you said with more confidence, holding his hand to put the box in it.
"Oh, I see what's going on," Uraraka said with a mischievous grin though she tried to hide it.
You let go of his hand and grabbed his sister's arm.
"Well, we should go find our class. It was good to see you again!" you said as you quickly pulled her away.
"Yes, you too," Iida replied with a slight wave.
"I can't believe I did that. My parents would kill me if they found out," you said in disbelief and worry.
"Still, it was pretty brave of you," Iida-chan complimented, "Why'd you have that box of chocolates anyway?"
"I always carry small boxes of snacks in case I get hungry," you shrugged. "I hope he likes chocolate."
Fumikage Tokoyami
You were bored in your room just scrolling through the internet. Your brother and everyone else was out completing a mission, but since you were useless in combat all you could do was sit around and wait.
*Cough!* *Cough!*
Were they back already? You sat up and ran out of your room and to the bar where your brother and Kurogiri were.
"That brat's gonna pay," you heard your brother growl.
"Nii-chan! Are you okay?" you asked and kneeled beside him.
"I underestimated those kids," he said, ignoring your question.
"We underestimated Erasre Head. It's because of him that so many students were able to get away," Kurogiri added.
"What happened? Did you attack a class? Are you hurt?" you asked, but he wouldn't look at you. "Ten--"
Your brother grabbed you by the neck, only his pinky didn't connect. One wrong move and you'd be dead.
"Shadow, Nii-chan isn't in the mood right now. Go play in your room," he said and shoved you away.
You rubbed your neck and nodded. You stood up and started walking back when you stopped and turned your head to look at him.
"I love you," you told him.
He remained quiet and stood up. He sat at one of the bar tables, so you took the opportunity to pull his shadow with you. Neither he nor Kurogiri noticed. You quickly made it to your room.
"It's been so long since you've talked to me. How's my little sister doing?" Shigaraki's shadow asked while sitting on your bed.
"I'm good. It's you I'm worried about," you replied and sat beside him.
"Well, the mission was almost a complete failure," he sighed and laid down. "Master will be very displeased."
"What did you have to do?" you asked.
"We went to UA, well USJ, but it's basically the same place. One of the classes was there," he replied.
"UA?" you gasped.
Shigaraki never told you things. He said it was because you were too weak to do anything. Either way you were okay with it. The less you knew the better.
"Yeah, Nomu was supposed to defeat All Might, but he wasn't even there at first. We thought maybe killing a few kids would get his attention, so we separated them and sent some villains after them," Shigaraki's shadow continued to explain.
"Kill? Did you kill anyone?" you asked, thinking about Tokoyami.
But what were the odds that his class would be the one that was attacked?
"I don't think so. A whole group of them even made their way to us. I have to hand it to them, they're resilient. One of them almost killed me," he admitted.
"What? How?" you asked.
"She seemed to have two quirks. Her feet moved rocks and her hands moved air. She pushed the air away from where we were. It even slowed my quirk down. I was just about to touch her when she pulled that move. But she got stuck too. It's a powerful quirk, but she can't control it," he answered.
"You want her to join the league?" you asked.
"I want her dead," he replied.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a while you let his shadow go and decided to text Tokoyami just in case.
'Hey! How was your hero class today? Did you have to fight each other again?'
He didn't reply until much later when you were having dinner with the rest of the league. Your phone was silent, thankfully, so you just acted like you were done.
"Please excuse me," you said as calmly as you could.
You grabbed your plate and put it in the sink.
"Are you still mad at me?" Shigaraki asked.
"No," you simply replied and left.
You went to your room and locked the door. You sat down on the floor, leaning against your bed as you read his message.
TF:'It was eventful to say the least.'
Y/N:'What happened?'
TF:'I'm not sure I can disclose, but most of my class was unharmed.'
Y/N:'What about you?'
TF:'I'm fine.'
Y/N:'That's good. Heroes always have to be on their feet. Don't let your guard down.'
TF:'I won't.'
Y/N:'Do you have any plans to go to the park right now?'
TF:'I could make some. Why?'
Y/N:'I've just missed Dark Shadow.'
TF:'Hmm. Well, Dark Shadow could be there in 30 minutes.'
Y/N:'Just Dark Shadow?'
TF:'I supposed I could also come along.'
You smiled at his joke.
Y/N:'I'll be there, too.'
You changed clothes, grabbed your bag and walked out.
"I'm going for a walk," you said as you passed the bar where your brother and his "friends" were sitting.
"Do you have your gun?" he asked.
"Yeah," you replied.
"Okay, don't come back too late," he warned.
"I won't," you said before leaving.
You lived closer to the park, so you waited a few minutes by the entrance before Tokoyami arrived. Dark Shadow popped out and waved at you while they were still making their way toward you.
"Oi! (Y/N)-chan!! I heard you missed me!" Dark Shadow yelled.
"I didn't know we were on a first name basis," you replied with a grin.
"Why do I feel like a third wheel?" Tokoyami asked.
"Because you are," your shadow replied as she materialized. "*Sigh* And here I thought you would be a responsible teenager."
"What's that supposed to mean?" You asked offended.
"It means whatever you want it to mean," your shadow replied.
"That reminds me, how does your quirk work exactly?" Tokoyami asked. "Your shadow doesn't have the same personality that you do."
"I'll explain while we walk," you replied.
He nodded and the 4 of you began your walk through the park. You ended up telling him about the first time you manifested your quirk and what you thought it was at first before realizing what it actually did.
"So there are 3 personality types for shadows. "Face", what their person behaves like, "Back", what their person behaves like when alone, and "Inner", what their person truly feels on the inside," you finished explaining. "Unfortunately, I can't choose which type I extract from myself, so I got stuck with her."
"Hey! Just remember I'm a part of you," your shadow grumbled.
She and Dark Shadow were trailing behind the two of you.
"Your quirk could be very useful in criminal work," Tokoyami mused.
"You think so?" you asked.
"Mmhhmm," he hummed. "You could work on your quirk to make it easier to call on the "inner" shadows and then criminals would just tell you if they did it or not. Almost like a truth quirk."
"Wow. I never thought about it that way," you replied.
"With a brother like ours, who would?" your shadow remarked.
"You don't have a good relationship with your brother? How tragic," Dark Shadow cried.
"It's not like that," you tried to reason.
"Keep telling yourself that, but I know the truth," your shadow said.
"Well, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. But I think we should be going back home now," you told them, trying to get out before she revealed anything more.
Tokoyami nodded. "It is getting late. Do you want me to walk you to your home?"
"Oh no, it's okay. I have to ride the bus to get home," you replied and waved goodbye. "Text me when you get home!"
"He will!" Dark Shadow replied as he waved goodbye as well.
