Kyoji Fujii is a therapist in the Kanto region of Japan whom is known to never turn a patient away, even taking in Light Yagami with knowledge that he was Kira.

Appearance

Kyoji is an individual that stands at average height yet is rather thin. He has messy, light brown hair and chestnut colored eyes. His skin is a warm beige color and his face is rather slim.

Character

Kyoji is shown to be a rather cheerful individual, and always eager to help others. He became inspired to help people do to the fact that in his younger years, he suffered from clinical depression, though it hasn't gone away, he's able to keep it at bay. He's very understanding that everyone has different needs and different life styles, and he tries to fit to whatever his patient needs in a therapist. He never really had a problem helping other people, until he met Light Yagami and L Lawliet, yet he accepted the challenge and is yet to give up on the two.

History

Kyoji's parents divorced when he was young, and he went and lived in Japan with his father in Japan, yet Kyoji's father was alcoholic and quite neglectful of his child. Eventually, he committed suicide and Kyoji went to go live with his mother in England.

He moved to England just before the start of seventh grade, when the school year started, he couldn't keep up with his work and quickly drown in it. The other kids started teasing him for being 'stupid', ''too quiet', and things such as that. This caused his simple shyness to transform into anxiety and depression.

He barely passed middle school, and his freshman year of highschool was the same. Yet Sophomore year he passed with average grades, then junior and senior years he passed above average.

After graduation, he went to college. After graduating college, he worked as a social worker in England. After a while, he felt like he could help more people as a therapist, so he got a job offer from back in Japan and went.

Plot

Though a minor character in the plot, he holds a lot of significance to it, it only being natural as he is both Light and L's therapist.

Light was worried about his first appointment with Kyoji, worrying Dr. Fujii might be cruel or been openly anti-Kira. Yet L surprised him when he walked into the building and explained how nothing was being held against him, and he went in with Light to help comfort him.

The couple quickly warmed up to Kyoji and L eventually became his patient too, after Kyoji saw just how much help he needed as well.

Fate

When Kira found the notebook again, he wrote Kyoji's name down, next to it, he wrote 'suicide - goes to where he used to live with his father and kills himself in the same spot his father did'.
