Chapter 3: The Discussion

Me and Jack went downstairs and to a back room at the very end of the dugeons. Jack opened the door and I walked him and he followed after glancing around making sure no one followed us. I walked down three stone steps barely making any noise and looked around the room, everyone was there like I had asked Kelebron. It was small and dimly lit by four candles mounted on the four stone walls. There was built in stone seats, and I went to lean against a slight ledge on the far side of the room.

Jack shut the door and put the latch on and walked down the steps. Everyone seemed to be serious, even Phelius and Kelebron were quiet. Jack waited a moment longer and looked at me. I nodded, he sighed, and started the the meeting.

"As some of you know, Dasia and Dalion are unexpectendly suppose to be taken to a small town tomorrow after noon to be sold." Celebron shot up from his seat and Jack glared at him. After he sat back down slowly he continued, "You were informed originally that we would not do anything, that this would be a simple hunting trip. Now this has come up, and despite the feeling Jules and I are rethinking not taking anyone since there would be little chance for us to rescue them from the private buyer."

"Now can I talk?" asked Celebron.

"Yes." Jack said.

"I personally don't see what there is to discuss. We'll just take them with us and then that'll be the end of it."

"It's not that simple Celebron." said Phelius from his spot next to Kelebron.

"And why not?"

"Because it's not like they're old enough to go on a hunting trip and they certainly wouldn't let us take them if they're going to be sold the same day and we'll be gone for days."

"So?"

"We wouldn't have a valid reason or reasonable explanation for their disappearance."

"Why can't we just rescue them after they're sold?" piped in Kelebron.

"Because that would raise too much alarm and the owner would complain and that would make the slave traders very angry. It would also be too dangerous." said Apellus tensely.

"I think we should take them. There has to be some way to sneak them out without causing attention and not having trouble afterwards." I said after listening to what the others had to say.

We continued to debate and discuss for a long time why or why not we should take them and how we could cover our tracks or avoid trouble. Finally cleared his throat and everyone went quiet.

"After everything we have discussed, I think it is wiser to take them with us than wait for later and take them from a private owner. However if we do so we should compensate the person who would be there owner to keep them quiet and have a reasonable idea or event for their disappearance or deaths."

"The money can be easily taken care of." said Apellus.

"Good. Does anyone have any ideas of how to explain them being gone?"

Silence filled the room as everyone was in deep thought thinking of a possible answers.

"No one?" asked Jack looking around the room and then hopefully at me.

I was about to say no, when it came to me. Instead I nodded and Jack waited for me to speak.

"We can send them into the forest tomorrow morning to get wood and tell them to wait there for us. We can get some of their important belongs here and put them with our stuff. We'll leave and meet them at where ever we told them to wait and then have them in Mirkwood by noon. We can say that they were attacked by a wolf or something and we'll set up the scene and then continue with our hunting trip."

"Does everyone agree with that?" asked Jack. Everyone responded with a yes.
"Then it's settled, we'll take them with us. Meeting ajourned. Everyone be ready tomorrow to leave a half an hour after dawn."

"That means you too Celebron." I added and everyone laughed while Celebron sent me a dirty look which I ignored. Jack opened the door and while everyone was leaving I walked over to Kelebron and apologized for snapping at him earlier. He quietly accepted it and walked through the door. I followed him out and Jack was the last to leave closing the door.

"You think this is going to work?" he asked me seriously.

I shrugged, "It has too. All we can do is hope it does."

He nodded and we went back to our guarding positions relieving Keno and Canon of their temporary post.

Hey guys. Hope you liked it, I'm going to try and update hopefully later this week. Let me know what you think of their plans and if you think they're making the right decision. All of their discussion was spoken in their language.
