What did we plan and what's happening here?

I inserted my hands into my hoodie pocket and rolled the stones to calm my nerves down. When Ilakkiya and I were half way through the elevator with the new guard accompanying us, I announced a change in plan to go to the nightclub instead of the gaming area. As the night club was already checked in the morning and our family was already there, the new guard led us to the nightclub. I instructed them to stay out and Ilakkiya and I entered the club, keeping our heads low.

We looked around the nightclub which was busy with patrons at the bar, young people dancing on the floor which is slightly elevated from the floor and a few were sitting around the tables, talking and enjoying their drinks. Ilakkiya spotted our family and we huddled up in the front corner of the bar away from their sight. A waitress was serving their drinks and a short while later Sabarish and Tanya moved out from there, hands held together to join the dance floor.

"Enna ithu Sabarish um Tanya vum ah? Idhu namma list laiye?" I looked at them, shocked as they started dancing together. (Sabarish and Tanya are together? This was not in our list.)

"Thooriga birthday anike rendu perum onna thaan dance pannnaga, Chithi." Ilakkiya whispered to me. (They both have been together since Thooriga's birthday party, Chithi. I saw them dancing together.)

"Ohhh... Tanya family eppadi?" Following Sabarish and Tanya, Thooriga and Tina joined the dance floor, leaving Raj and Rudhran alone at the table. (Do you know anything about Tanya's family?)

"It's our accountant Murugavel's problem to think, Chithi. We have more pressing issues than that. Why is Raj and Rudhran not joining the dance floor?"

"Ivanungala vechitu enna panrathu ne therila, Ilakkiya." I almost took a step towards them but Ilakkiya stopped me. (What am I going to do with these boys, Ilakkiya?)

"Chithi, enna panringa?" We turned towards the bar. (Chithi, what are you trying to do?)

"Pinna enna, avanungala vida chinna paiyan Sabarish. Avan Tanya va kootitu poi aduran. En pullaiya paru, avan samiyar ah irukarathu pathama Raj aiyum pidichu vechu irukan." I signalled for the bartender to come near us. (Then what? Sabarish is younger than them, he is dancing with Tanya. And look at my son, he is spoiling Raj too.)

"Sabarish is late 90s while Raj and Rudhran are early 90s born, Chithi." She shook her head in disbelief.

"True," I released a frustrated breath.

"What can I get you, ladies?" The bartender asked us.

"One mimosa, what do you want, Ilakkiya?"

"Are you sure that you want to try mimosa, Chithi?" I nodded at her. "Just a fruit punch." She placed her order and we waited for our drinks to arrive.

Raj and Rudhran have a deep conversation for a while and finally Rudhran stood up and walked towards the dance floor. "Ladies, your drinks." We took our drinks and turned to find Rudhran and Tina dancing while Thooriga dancing alone.

Thank god, my son saved my husband's legacy. But what happened to Raj? Is he still looking at Thooriga as the child she was?

On the day when we returned and visited Thooriga's suite, she was sitting on his lap, resting her head on his shoulder and sleeping like she used to do when she was a little girl. Though they behave as a Heiress and her Bodyguard, the vibes of two people in love was evident. Even the astrologer from the mutt who came to fix the marriage date for Rudhran and Tina, predicted for Raj after predicting for Thooriga.

If the astrologers from the mutt visit a house to predict for the family members, they usually don't predict for another clan. They predict for the ones born in the family and their spouses or would be spouses. They don't even predict for girls after marriage. Since his childhood Raj has been there for many times when the astrologer arrived but that was the first time he was called to receive a prediction after predicting for Thooriga.

Also, there is a legacy and custom between Harshavardhans and Vajendras which has to be followed.

I slightly turn and look at Raj before following his eyes. They were fixated on Thooriga who was dancing alone. They both have a stare down competition as Thooriga danced and Raj sipped on his drink. A new guy approached Thooriga and she started to dance with him. Sabarish, Tanya, Rudhran and Tina stopped dancing for a moment and looked at Thooriga in shock before looking at Raj.

Raj, which Ilakkiya mentioned, was back and he slammed the glass of his drink on the table. If the music wasn't loud, the slamming sound could have reverberated throughout the nightclub but I jumped back by just witnessing the slamming. I looked at Ilakkiya who had the same reaction on her body and face.

"Naan sonnen la, Chithi, chinna vayasula iruntha Raj ipo illa nu." I nodded at her and focused back on Raj who signalled at a waitress. (I told you, Chithi. He is not the young Raj we used to know.)

He spoke to her and paid her before standing and walking towards the dance floor. Thooriga turned towards the boy and danced with him. Raj stopped behind her and there was a small hustle before that boy backed off. Raj and Thooriga quarrelled as they danced but eventually settled for normal. I realised it was time for us to leave and looked at Ilakkiya who was avoiding looking at the dance floor.

"Shall we go?" I asked her and she nodded hurriedly. We walked away from the bar and towards the nightclub exit when my eyes fell on someone from the past. "What is she doing here?"

"Who, Chithi?" Ilakkiya touched my arm.

"Akshya, Rudhran's ex."

Raj

She definitely needs another lesson to be learnt.

I noticed Parvathy Aathai and Ilakkiya Anni, the moment they entered the nightclub. To avoid alerting them and to make it look natural, I didn't inform Rudhran about their entry immediately. When Rudhran joined the dancefloor with Tina, Thooriga looked at him shocked. She mentally debated for a while before dancing on her own.

I continued watching her as I couldn't join with Paravathi Aathi and Ilakkiya Anni watching us. I sipped on my drinks, her eyes were on me but she didn't try to persuade me to join her but continued enjoying herself. Everything was going fine until a boy approached her. Thooriga danced with him but didn't let him touch her other than holding her hands.

Rudhran, Tina, Saby and Tanya stopped dancing and looked at me but my eyes were only on Thooriga. The guy twirled her and held her against him from her back. I slammed the now empty glass against the table and the waitress who was serving us and taking orders from the next table got my attention.

Enough of worrying about what others will think.

I signalled her to come to me and took some money from my purse. "Ask the DJ to play this song next." I took a pen from my pocket, wrote the song name on a tissue paper and gave it to her along with the money.

The waitress left with the note and I concentrated my attention back to Thooriga. She twirled away from the guy and faced him but continued to dance with him. Her hands on his shoulders and his hands on her waist.

That night she risked her pride by going commando but today got pissed for just a small amount of my skin display.

I stood up and went near her, joining the dance floor. I slipped my right hand between the guy and her and placed my palm against her belly, I pulled Thooriga against me. "Hello, can't you see that we are dancing?" The guy asked me.

"She has accomplished her mission." Thooriga looked at me and smirked victoriously. "Now it's time for you to back off." I pulled Thooriga to my left and took a threatening step towards him.

Saby, Madan and the new guards positioned themselves between us. "If you don't back off, we will make you back off. Which way do you want?"

The guy moved back but Thooriga pushed my hand away and went towards him like dancing with him. Though she touched the guy, he seemed terrified to lay a finger on her.

She laced her frustration with attitude and walked past me snapping a finger at my face.

Thooriga held the hands of Tanya and Tina twirled them along with her and the three of them danced together. Rudhran and Saby stood by me and watched their girls dance with my woman. Some people who stopped dancing, after witnessing the exchange between me, my guards and the guy, resumed dancing. Thooriga bobbed her hips and shoulders B-Boying to the beats.

She walked towards me while Rudhran and Saby joined their girls. She hooked her finger with my locket chain and pulled my face down to her.

I held her waist, twirled her, pulling her against me and pressing our bodies together. I pushed her hair aside, running my right hand fingers on the top of chest and my left hand fingers skated up her thighs.

I bent my head, kissing the crook of her neck and she melted in my arms. She turned and ran her fingers up my chest before locking her arms around my neck and pulling me down for a kiss.

We didn't kiss, instead we drowned in the euphoria of the lights, music, scent and eyes of each other. Thooriga circled her fingertips on the back of my neck, intoxicating me in her addiction more than what I already am. She looked at me seductively and enjoyed teasing me.

I once again pressed our bodies together, showing her how much I want. She leaned up and bit my jawline, receiving a squeeze from me. We slowly swayed to music, zoning out to our own world until a movement on my right caught my eyes.

"Sorry." Rudhran stopped dancing and apologised to a woman.

"It's okay." She turned and Rudhran stiffened. I stepped to his right to see her face and it was my turn to stiffen.

It's been sixteen years since we saw her. After unmasking her true colour in front of Rudhran, Parvathi Aaththai paid her to get transferred to another college as she was trying to break our friendship and patch back with Rudhran. So, we never expected to see her again. At least not when we had our girls by our side and when Rudhran is finally moving on in his life.

"Rudhran. Raj." Akshaya looked at us in surprise and her tone was friendly.

"What are you doing here?" Rudhran gritted out his words.

Instead of answering his question, she introduced a man in his early forties to us. "This is Vishal Deol, my husband, owner of this nightclub. Vishal, they are Rudhran and Raj, my college buddies." She stressed on the word buddies and smirked at me.

He forwarded his hand and Rudhran and I shook one after the other. "If I'm not wrong, you are the Billionaire family who is staying in this hotel for the next couple of days." I nodded my head. "It's our pleasure having you here."

"Whom are you both talking with, Chitha, Mama?" Thooriga stepped in between Rudhran and me.

The couple looked at her and Akshaya concentrated more on Thooriga. "I have seen you somewhere." Akshaya didn't take much time to recognise her. "Aren't you the little girl from Raj's mobile wallpaper." Thooriga looked at me and smiled.

"Yes. She is the Heiress of Harshavardhan Estate and Rudhran's niece." I replied on behalf of her. "Heiress, this is Akshaya, she was our friend." I scratched my temple in nervousness and Thooriga's face turned into a mild shade of red, understanding who Akshaya is. Akshaya's husband introduced himself to Thooriga but before he could speak further, he received a call and excused himself to attend it.

"Who are they?" Akshaya asked Rudhran, looking at others standing around us.

"This is Tina and Tanya, Thooriga's friends." I looked at Rudhran shocked as he didn't introduce Tina as his wife and Tina's shoulder raised and fell in anger as he introduced Saby, Madan and others as bodyguards of the family. Tina excused herself and walked towards the bar with Tanya and Saby tailing behind her.

Akshya's husband returned after his phone call. "Baby we should leave." He looked at his wife, nervously and apologised to us for becoming unavailable to engage us.

"Okay guys, if possible let's meet tomorrow." Akshaya went and hugged Rudhran sideways before stopping in front of me. She leaned up and wrapped her hands around my shoulders. "Boom." She whispered before kissing my cheek and my eyes widened in shock as realisation hit me.

The lines containing the words car and bomb in the morse code had a lot of lines between them.

Shit! This is the actual bomb.

"Take care, Raj." She moved away from me with an evil smirk and walked past me with her husband.

I turned to Thooriga who looked ashen with tears struggling to stay at bay in eyes. She raised her hands in frustration and dropped them, walking away from me.

Even if she had choked me when she raised her hands, I could have died but the disappointed look in her face is killing me every millisecond.

"Papa, listen." I followed her and held her hand but she continued walking. "Madan, you stay with them. You two follow her." I looked around the nightclub for Parvathy Aathai and Ilakkiya Anni but they were nowhere to be found. I ran behind Thooriga and entered the elevator just before the doors closed.

God, help me solve this issue.
