Epilogue
"You guys are so gross," Jimin mutters, shoving an entire kimbap into his mouth. He has a disgusted look on his face as he stares at the newly couple sitting across from him.
Taehyung gives him an uninterested glance before he returns his gaze towards Jeongguk and wipes at the sauce on the corner of his lips. Jimin fakes a gag.
"See? Gross."
Taehyung rolls his eyes. "Weren't you the one who wouldn't shut up about me, and I quote, getting it on, with Jeonggukie?"
"That was the past Jimin being an idiot. The present Jimin does not like this development at all. You guys couldn't get your hands off of each other to save a life."
"I think they're really cute!" Hoseok exclaims from the other end of the table where he's busy munching on some chips after already eating more than his share from the kimbap that Jin prepared for all of them. "I like them better like this."
"Thank you," Taehyung says with an emphasis and proceeds to stick his tongue out to Jimin.
"Jimin is just bitter," Jeongguk comments, dodging a crumpled napkin that Jimin threw his way.
"Excuse you, I am in a very happy relationship with Yoongi hyung, your boss. Making you jobless is only a phone call away from me."
Jeongguk scoffs, feeling brave because Yoongi isn't present. "Do whatever you want. I've wanted to quit from that stinking place anyway."
Taehyung is quick to smack Jeongguk's shoulder with a frown. "Hey, Grand Cafe is my favorite. Give it some respect."
Jeongguk is about to retort, as well as Jimin who seems like he wants to defend his own boyfriend's cafe, when Jin loudly clears his throat, successfully shutting them up and getting all of their attention.
"Let's just all agree that Taehyung and Jeongguk are cute together," Jin says, as he leans over the table to grab some more kimbap to place on the plate in front of him. "But you know what's cuter? If Hoseok gets his act together and finally asks me out."
There's suddenly a very violent coughing going on from Hoseok, seeming like he choked on something, and the rest of them couldn't help but laugh at his reaction.
"Hyung!" Hoseok exclaims, looking at Jin in horror as his face turns beet red either from embarrassment or from what Jin said. "Not in front of everyone!"
Jin just rolls his eyes before handing a glass of water towards Hoseok, which he accepts gratefully.
"If there's no witness, you're not going to do anything about it," Jin says but there's a faint smile on his face and if Taehyung squints hard enough, he can see the blush high on his cheeks.
After that, they decided to settle with topics that do not concern relationships in order to avoid even more arguments and people choking themselves to death. It's the first time that they get to hang out like this again and it's everything that Taehyung wanted.
Eventually, they all parted with the promise of seeing each other again like they did today. Hopefully with Yoongi next time because it did feel incomplete without him. Although, they did hear from him at some point when he called to say hi and apologized for not being there. Everyone told him it was okay and Jimin just promised him a good time when they see each other later tonight. Predictably, his comment earned a lot of deadly glares from everybody because no one has to know about their late night shenanigans.
Now, still early in the afternoon, Taehyung and Jeongguk decided to spend some time together at Jeongguk's penthouse to catch up with some of their works. They've been distracted ever since they started dating and have fallen behind with a lot of their assignments so they promised to spend a day where they finish all of their work so they'd be free for the next couple of days.
Surprisingly, they get right to their respective work as soon as they get home. Taehyung is already almost done with his project when he finally feels his back giving in so he immediately stretches himself while he lets out an exaggerated groan.
"Holy shit, I think I've reached my limit," Taehyung says when he sees Jeongguk stretching as well. "I've drained my brain of all its creative juice. I have to recharge."
"Same," Jeongguk agrees, walking over to Taehyung and wrapping his arms around him. "What do you say we go out and loosen our muscles. My body feels stiff from sitting on the floor for hours."
Taehyung nods. "Yeah, that's a good idea. Where should we go?"
Jeongguk grins. "I know just the perfect place."
"Hey, long time no see!"
"Namjoon hyung!" Taehyung exclaims, jogging the last few steps towards the reception table where Namjoon is currently grinning at him and Jeongguk.
"It's been a while, I've missed the hell out of this place," Jeongguk says as a greeting as he settles beside Taehyung. He automatically wraps his arm around Taehyung's shoulder which earns an amused look from Namjoon.
"I see that you two seems to be getting along really well," Namjoon teases, with that dimpled smile of his that Taehyung and Jeongguk miss.
Taehyung lets out a chuckle. "Turns out, I love him more than I hate him. So I got myself stuck with this muscle pig."
Namjoon lets out a laugh as well. "Somehow, I've always known that you two are going to end up on good terms. Although, it was still a nice surprise to see that you guys are on more than good terms."
"It was also a nice surprise for both of us," Jeongguk comments before they're all laughing together.
They talked some more, catching up on everything. Taehyung is once again reminded of how much he enjoys Namjoon's company and makes a note to himself to introduce him at some point with the rest of his friend group. Taehyung is certain Namjoon would get along just as well with everyone else.
"It's really nice to see you two again," Namjoon says as he begins to shoo them away. "I'd wanna talk more but I don't want to keep you for too long,"
"Alright, we'll see you later, hyung!" Taehyung says, waving, before he and Jeongguk leave.
They dropped off their belongings in the locker room and began to stretch together. Taehyung finds it quite odd to be so close with Jeongguk like this without their usual banters. They've already put their petty rivalry behind for quite some time now but it's the first time they came to the gym together on good terms. Taehyung decides that he likes it, stretching with Jeongguk in comfortable silence (and being able to openly check him out now without being afraid of getting caught).
"So, what's the workout plan for today?" Taehyung asks, looking around at all of the gym equipments in the building. Nothing is particularly calling out to him so he's just going to let Jeongguk decide.
"Come on, let's do the usual," Jeongguk says. When Taehyung turns to look at him, there's a grin on his face. Taehyung returns it.
"Hell yeah," Taehyung agrees, doing some dramatic stretching as if he's getting ready for a battle. "Let's start with the bench press," Taehyung challenges, a glint in his eyes. "I think you're getting rusty. I might just win this round."
Jeongguk scoffs jokingly. "You wish, Kim. Don't you remember that I've always been undefeated in bench press? Gotta jog that memory of yours."
Taehyung rolls his eyes. "There's always a first time, Jeon. One cannot always be the winner."
"Just 'cause we're dating doesn't mean I'll go easy on you."
Taehyung lets his head fall back as he lets out a loud laugh. "I wouldn't want you too."
Jeongguk chuckles as well. "Come on, Kim, enough talk."
Taehyung licks his lips. "Alright, then."
Taehyung and Jeongguk settle themselves on the benches right beside each other after calling someone to spot them.
"Ready, Kim?" Jeongguk asks, a shit eating grin on his face.
Taehyung rolls his eyes at him but couldn't help the giddy smile that appears on his lips. Jeongguk looks so beautiful.
"Born ready."
