Chapter 16

"You spent the night with Jeongguk?!"

Taehyung almost flies out of his seat from how quick he lunges at Jimin to cover his mouth, nervously looking around the courtyard to see if anyone heard him. Fortunately, the people around are too far away from them to hear anything.

"Yes, but will you quiet down?" Taehyung hisses near Jimin's ear, finally letting the other go.

The sky is clear but the crisp cold still lingers. However, Taehyung and Jimin still decided to brave the cold to sit down on one of the benches located at the school's courtyard.

The two of them were just finishing up their warm drinks when Taehyung decided to finally fill Jimin in about the events that occured during Taehyung's not-so-lonely holiday break. He already expected Jimin to be surprised but he should've known that he would also be loud about it.

"Why would I? I just found out that two of my friends had sex," Jimin shouts once again, and Taehyung wants nothing but to strangle his best friend right here and right now. Which he almost did but Jimin was quick to distance himself and Taehyung was quick to give up. If it wasn't for how cold it is, Jimin is probably doubling in pain right now.

"Where did you get sex from what I've told you?" Taehyung says exasperatedly before he slumps on his seat pouting at Jimin. Now Jimin has put that thought in his head and he hates how he can't get it out.

A sudden memory from a time spent with Jeongguk at his jacuzzi comes back to him and automatically, Taehyung's entire face reddens. The warm and intimate setting was still doing his heart a number and he's not entirely sure if he could ever get the memory and the feeling out of his system.

Fortunately, due to the cold weather, Jimin does not question Taehyung's flushed face.

"What else could you have done together?" Jimin asks. "Two lonely bachelors in a cold, Christmas night, spending time together with an entire penthouse all to themselves. And did I mention? They totally have the hots for each other. Yeah, you two definitely banged."

Taehyung could not help the incredulous look that appeared on his face at Jimin's explanation before he smacks the other at the back of his head, blushing harder than he already was.

"Shut up," Taehyung says, half-heartedly pushing Jimin while the other laughs his head off.

Both promptly drops the topic as Jimin finally took mercy on Taehyung and have stopped teasing him.

After that, the rest of the day was uneventful. Taehyung went with the motion of going and leaving to his classes and sometimes when he bumps into some of his friends, he spends some time chatting with them before they continue on with their day.

With so much time to waste and an empty mind, Taehyung decides to occupy his day thinking about a certain someone whose smile brightened up his lonely days during the holidays.

"Jeon Jeongguk, you think I'm gonna let you off easily after missing our last showcase?"

Jeongguk looks up from his spot on the dance floor at Hoseok, who stands over him.

"Hyung, it was an accident," Jeongguk argues even though he can see the teasing glint in Hoseok's eyes. "Besides, you were the most worried, weren't you?"

Hoseok shakes his head, faking a disapproving look on his face.

"Let's not focus on the details."

Jeongguk rolls his eyes at that good naturedly but he lets the older continue because he does owe his team for all the troubles he had caused them when he suddenly had to be pulled off the team due to his injury.

"As you know, we have another showcase coming up. We're always in charge of advertising our participation in the event. So, I'm gonna make you in charge of the posters that we would put up all over the campus."

Jeongguk nods his head along as Hoseok explains his supposed 'punishment'. It's not that bad considering all the stress that he brought upon his team when he was injured.

"Just that?" Jeongguk asks hesitantly, expecting an even more severe punishment, although not wishing for one.

Hoseok raises a brow at him. "You want me to give you more?"

Jeongguk quickly shakes his head and dismisses the subject before the rest of the dance team finally leaves the studio.

Truthfully, making the posters isn't too difficult. However, the problem lies in the fact that Jeongguk doesn't have a single artistic or creative feature in his system.

As Jeongguk walks down the path towards Grand Cafe, Jeongguk chews his lips, deep in thought. He tries to come up with a design or what the poster would generally look like but no matter how hard he tries, his brain just comes up with blank images.

Even until he finally makes it to the cafe, he still couldn't come up with anything to work with. He has a few weeks to think about it, make it, and plaster it around campus before the dance showcase. Not to mention, his studies, dance practices, and his work at the cafe takes up a lot of his time already.

"Why do you look like you're deeply thinking about something? That's new."

Jeongguk ignores Yoongi, still too busy coming up with a plan about the poster design and how to manage his time so he can do everything that he needs to do.

"What, so you're gonna ignore me?" Yoongi says when Jeongguk doesn't respond to him and doesn't even spare him a glance to acknowledge his existence.

"Can't you tell?" Jeongguk finally replies back, earning a light smack on his bicep.

"Watch it, I'm your boss," Yoongi says. It's something that he often tells Jeongguk as some kind of threat but Yoongi never really means any of them and Jeongguk knows him too well.

Jeongguk sighs. "Just thinking about our poster design for the next dance showcase. I'm in charge this time as a punishment," Jeongguk explains, watching Yoongi contemplate it.

"Isn't Taehyung an art major? Ask him to help you out," Yoongi says. Always so fucking helpful.

Jeongguk lights up at the reminder. Taehyung is in fact an art major and Jeongguk could surely use his help, at least help him start up from somewhere.

When he realizes that he's not as doomed anymore, Jeongguk immediately bolts out of his seat and out of the cafe with a shout of good bye towards Yoongi.

Jeongguk takes out his phone from his pocket and starts shooting a text to Taehyung asking him when he's available to meet up with. Taehyung's reply comes almost instantly, saying he has a spare period, and tells Jeongguk that they can meet up now.

After sending another text, Jeongguk sprints towards the school cafeteria where Taehyung would be waiting for him.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" Taehyung asks as soon as Jeongguk has settled himself on a spot across Taehyung.

Jeongguk proceeds to explain about the poster he's working on and throughout his explanation, Taehyung nods his head in understanding.

"Do you have a basic idea of what the poster would look like?" Taehyung asks after Jeongguk's explanation.

Jeongguk shakes his head. "No, just the information that I have to include in the poster regarding the event."

Taehyung nods his head at this as he turns his gaze towards his sketchbook that is placed on top of the table in front of them, looking deep in thought.

Jeongguk is about to ask Taehyung what he thinks when suddenly, Taehyung opens his sketchbook to a blank space, with a pen in hand, and begins drawing.

Jeongguk watches in awe how smooth Taehyung's drawing process is, making it look so easy to draw the exact picture that he has in mind. Not to mention, how good the actual sketch is. Taehyung truly has a talent in art that he's only seeing for the first time and Jeongguk has to admit, it's quite mesmerizing to watch.

After finishing his sketch, Taehyung pushes the sketchbook in front of Jeongguk.

"Here's what I have in mind," Taehyung says and Jeongguk can see the slight upturn on the edges of his mouth. A proud, little smile.

Now as Jeongguk properly looks at the drawing, he could not help but feel even more amazed.

"Wait, this is really good," Jeongguk says, tracing the curves and lines on the paper. "How did you come up with this design so quickly?"

Taehyung tries to contain a smile but gives up at the end when he can't seem to get rid of it. Jeongguk is fine with that.

"I guess I just got used to being creative on the spot. Happens a lot," Taehyung explains and Jeongguk nods, still amazed.

"Hey, I have an offer," Taehyung suddenly says, making Jeongguk look at him in confusion at the sudden offer.

"What is it?"

Taehyung sits up on his seat from his slump position as if he's about to talk about a very serious business deal.

"I'll do your poster for you and during the duration of my work, you're gonna treat me to some hotteok."

Jeongguk could not help the amused laugh that he lets out, making Taehyung chuckle along with him.

"You could've asked me to treat you with anything but you're choosing hotteok?" Jeongguk says, amused at Taehyung's offer. It's a good deal, very kind and sweet, just like Taehyung.

"Hey, don't judge me, I've been craving it. Besides, I don't have the luxury to buy hotteok every single day."

Jeongguk laughs once again at how innocent the whole offer is before he finally agrees because, honestly, it's a really good deal.

"Are you sure you're fine with it adding to your workload? I know you're busy as well," Jeongguk says, suddenly worried about how Taehyung is going to handle another project being added into his list of things to do. Jeongguk wouldn't actually let him handle it when it's Jeongguk's work in the first place.

"No, it's fine, don't worry. I'm not as busy as you for the next few weeks and it should be a piece of cake," Taehyung reassures with a small smile.

After they finally cleared things up about the whole arrangement, they went on their way, promising to meet each other again soon.

Taehyung is disappointed in himself for how weak he is for his urges as he finds himself sitting in the dance studio, about to watch the dance team's new dance routine.

Taehyung had promised to never go back to the studio again because dancer Jeongguk is just something that he simply could not handle. Last time he was here, he blushed like he has never seen a man so attractive. Technically, it's true.

However, at the end of the day, he still ends up visiting the studio again. At least the dance team is happy to see him again, even Jeongguk is smiling at him excitedly.

"Here to watch your bae?" Jimin whispers teasingly and he wasn't quick enough to dodge Taehyung's smack.

"Why don't you watch your mouth?" Taehyung hisses. "If Jeon hears anything, I will actually end you."

Despite the threat, Jimin still lets out an obnoxious laugh. Jimin opens his mouth to say something, probably something equally infuriating and embarrassing, when Hoseok suddenly tells everyone to get in their position. Jimin winks at Taehyung before settling in his position.

Taehyung sits himself in one of the corners, making sure he gets the best view to be able to see everyone. But who is he kidding, he knows he would only end up watching for one person. And right now, that person is wearing a tight muscle shirt paired with grey sweats. The way he looks right now should really be illegal.

When the music starts and the team begins dancing, it becomes a completely different story.

Taehyung hates to admit it but his eyes have been glued to Jeongguk all this time. He can't believe he forgot how absolutely mesmerizing Jeongguk's movements are, especially when it's so in sync with the music. Not to mention the sweat gathering at the side of his head down to the surface of his neck as the music moves toward its end.

When the practice is finally over, Taehyung thinks he has forgotten how to breathe.

"Hey, you good?"

Taehyung looks up to see that the person that asked him is the reason why he is not good at all.

"Yeah, I'm fine. That was amazing," Taehyung replies, pleased about himself for not stuttering and looking like a fool.

"Thanks, it's Hoseok's best work yet," Jeongguk says with a proud smile. "By the way, are you down for some hotteok right now? I'm starving."

Taehyung grins as they both fell into a matching pace.

"Jeon, I'm always down for some hotteok."

Taehyung and Jeongguk bought the hotteok that they've been craving and decided to head over to Jeongguk's penthouse next where they could eat and Taehyung can work on the poster.

Taehyung notices how he's beginning to feel at-home in Jeongguk's place after spending quite a few times there already. Because of this, he happily works on the poster while munching on all the hotteok they bought, or Jeongguk bought, earlier.

"Want anything else?" Jeongguk asks Taehyung, not knowing what to do with himself as Taehyung busies himself with the poster.

"I don't think so but thanks," Taehyung replies distractedly. Jeongguk notices this and promises to shut up so he doesn't bother Taehyung with his work.

So during the time that Taehyung is working, Jeongguk just sits there, watching the other almost in awe while he sketches so many intricate details with ease. The amount of patience and creativity that is being put into this single poster by Taehyung is incredible.

After watching the figures and letters being sketched into the paper for some time, Jeongguk zones out and lets his gaze travel up towards Taehyung's face.

His brows are knitted together in concentration and Jeongguk notices that once in a while, Taehyung has the habit of biting his lower lip especially when he's drawing a particularly intricate design.

Jeongguk doesn't realize it but he has stopped watching the sketches altogether, his gaze being trapped by the actual art itself right in front of him.

Jeongguk has always been aware that Taehyung is gorgeous with those thick brows, uniquely shaped eyes, and his soft lips that Jeongguk would've found irresistible from the very beginning if only they didn't start on the wrong foot.

Now, however, he can stare at those lips and only wonder if they are as soft as they look and if they taste like Taehyung's favorite strawberry flavored lip balm.

It drives Jeongguk crazy to notice these things all of a sudden, to think of these things and adding it to the sweet and kind personality that he knows Taehyung possesses now that they both made up and became friends.

He expects to be mad at himself for thinking about those things about Taehyung, who he once considered as his enemy and now his friend, but somehow, he only feels a nice warmth within his chest. Jeongguk finds that he likes it and doesn't mind it all.

Jeongguk really, really likes Taehyung and that's fucking amazing.
