Defining a killer

"Was that really necessary? I mean the way you acted. Getting knocked out and thrown in a trunk doesn't sound very inviting." Cloud heard a smooth voice. He was still inside the trunk. Genesis walked towards the trunk and opened it. Then grabbing Cloud by the back of the shirt and the collar. Griped the fabric hard and tossed him on the floor. Once again Cloud groaned and was blinded by the florescent lights hanging above. Once his eyes adjusted he picked himself off the ground and glanced around the room. Concrete floors and walls, 3 tables, one about 50 meters in front of him, and one to the right of him, and the other left from him. He then dusted himself off.
"Why did you drag me down here?" Cloud asked.
"We dragged you down here because we have a proposition for you." The guy with slicked black, shoulder length hair, replied leaning against the table. There was also a girl with a brown pony tale across from him leaning on the other table.
"Who are you people?" Cloud asked.
"I'm Angeal and this is my team." He gestured towards the girl, and the two guys leaning against the trunk of the car that was behind Cloud.
"And... what do you have in mind?" Cloud asked.
"We have been tracking down a organisation that created the Stigma. Their group is called: Meteor. They are a gang/organisation that also kills and targets people for no reason. They Kidnap people and kids.-" Angeal was then interrupted by Cloud.
"What does this have to do with me?" Cloud asked. Angeal sighed.
"We heard that you were a SOLDIER for about 5 years now. That expertise can lead to you getting hired. We know you have that kind of experience." Cloud was cringing so bad about him getting fired. He ran his hand through his blond spiky hair.
"Not interested." Cloud started walking away waving his hand off.
"Besides I got to get back home before my mother has a heart attack some how." The silence and guilt came to Cloud.
"We heard about your mother." Genesis replied. Cloud stop, dead in his tracks and turned his head back.
"What about her." He growled.
"We pay 10 000 Gil an hour, 50 000 if you get the job done. 25 000 for accepting the job then you get the rest when you deliver. Cloud, we are a group who will not stand to see the innocents get crushed. We are body guards during the day and killers/assassins at night, well... That depends, how you as a person can define what a killer really is." Angeal replied. Cloud turned around now seeing that Angeal was in front of him with his hand out.
"Cloud, do you accept the challenge we are all facing, and put a end to it?" Angeal asked looking him dead in the eyes. This Gil could set him for life, and he could pay for his mother's medication.
He then accepted the handshake, with a firm grip.
"Welcome to the team Cloud." But what Cloud didn't know was: someone was listening from afar and away from the building.
*****
Cloud learned that night, all of the team members names. Some of them were currently away right now. Angeal, Genesis, Aiden, and Hayley. They were the four main people to his team, he was now a new comrade. He saw how Hayley was tapping her foot, totally annoyed. She never told Cloud why she was here.
"My brother was taken away from me 3 years ago. Meteor took him away. No doubt about that I am going to get him back alive, and in one piece. I will see the day that I put a bullet through the enemies skull and get him back. I accept if I get killed, at least I did my job." Hayley replied pulling back the barrel of one of her hand guns.
"I will help you get him back even if I die trying." Cloud replied. Her eyes had a stormy look to them, like a fire waiting to ignite, and destroy.
"You can try. But the outcomes are slim that we will come back alive." Hayley sighed.
"Have a safe trip home. Goodnight to you, Cloud." Hayley replied.
"Cloud here is our car if you need anything. Goodnight to you 4, or should I say good morning?" Angeal corrected.
Cloud glanced at his watch and saw it was 2 am. Now in shock. His mother told him to be back at 12. It was 2 hours pass that time. He had to get Genesis to show him the way out of the building, since this was a pretty big building. Once outside he look up at the building memorising it, and where it was. It started to thunder and pore. It took Cloud no less than 30 minutes to get back to his home. He was now soaked to the bone. He walked up the steps and was about to reach for the door knob. The door creaked and opened by itself. Cloud knitted his eyebrows and look at the door frame, seeing the frame was partially broken. Someone had kicked it in... Now shock and worry went through his mind, was his mother okay? All of this was a sign of a bad omen.
He didn't want to yell for his mother cause the intruder could still be in the house, ready to attack or could have his mother hostage.
The sound of thunder could be heard in the background, it was so silent you could hear the whistling of the wind. Now silently taking steps into the house, and being aware of his surroundings.
I sense of shock went through his body, and his heart started to pick up the pace. He looked towards the kitchen. Nothing. He then walked further down the hallway to his room. His eyes widen his room was torn apart and was upside down, it looked like a tornado had came through his room. He quickly look for the baby Chocobo to see if it was alright. He looked in the box it wasn't there! Starting to look around he then heard chirping, the sound of the baby Chocobo crying. He then followed the sound towards the scarf that was on the floor. He looked under the scarf to see it was shivering. Cloud gently picked the scarf and the Chocobo, and whispered that it was alright. Then put it in his pocket.
He then walked towards his mother's bedroom and then glanced through the room. This room was also torn and upside down.
What the hell happened?
Stepping into the hallway once again, there was one more room to look at. The living room.
A flash of lightning came it lit up the hallway like if there was no dark light left. He glanced towards the floor and found a trail of blood on the floor. His heart started to race, he was almost froze in place. He was ready to attack who ever it was.
Slowly striding to the living area, and now stepping into the room. His stomach now suddenly had a pit in it. A sense of shock and denile came to him.
This can't be happening!
His mother. Dead on the ground with a slice mark to her neck and blood all over her dress, while a pool of blood was behind her. He ran towards her.
"Mom!" He yelled. His eyes widen and his mouth was agape.
He then put his two finger towards her neck to find a pulse. Nothing. Tears ran down his face, just like how the sky was mourning. Cloud held her in his arms cradling her, he couldn't stop crying. Someone had taken his mother's life that has now left from this world. He gently set her down and stood up. Even know he now had his mother's blood all over him. He felt wrath and rage. Like an ember in his soul, ready to ignite and kill. A characteristic a killer has always had. He then punched the wall, and yelled in anger. His knuckles were now bleeding. He glanced back at his mother seeing there was something in her left hand. Cloud bent down closer and saw what was in her hand. He opened her hand and took the card. Now reading it. It had a shiny black background with a green and blue meteor logo on it, and said: 'Meteor'.
He then look down at his mother's hand and saw a black, fluffy, feather. Now picking that up. He balled up his fist. He was ready to punch a new hole in the wall. He flipped out his flip phone and dialled up Angeal's number.
Angeal: Hello?
Cloud: They killed my mother!
Angeal: Hold on, who?
Cloud: Meteor! They flipped my house upside down, and killed my mother. I found her lifeless in the living room, holding their card and I also found a black feather.
Angeal: So it was him....
Cloud: Who?
Angeal: None other than the leader of this organisation: Sephiroth.
Cloud: Sephiroth....
Angeal: Cloud, I am going to ask you a difficult question.
Cloud: Alright.
Angeal: How far are you willing to go in order to get your revenge?
Cloud was silent for a minute. Thinking about how could this end up.
Sephiroth has to have a family right?
Thinking if he takes Sephiroth's life, what will happen to his family, how would they feel. He then glanced right back to his mother, lifeless. He took her life, now it's time to pay the price. Retribution is at hand.
He then gripped the phone and put it back up to his ear.
Cloud: Right. To. The. End.
