1. Kim Tae-Freaking-Hyung

"LAYLIN!"

Jungkook's shout echoed throughout their apartment. He was getting sick of his best friend's shenanigans. Ever since she found out that her idol - Kim Taehyung - was coming to town for a concert, she hadn't laid off hinting that she wanted tickets. Jungkook knew he was in trouble when he heard the man was coming to town as Laylin talked about him nonstop daily. It wasn't a secret that Laylin was head over heels in love with a man she didn't know outside the screen. His name left her lips at least a thousand times a day (there was seriously a day where Jungkook tallied that many mentions before supper). Laylin seemed to think that if she ever met the man, he'd be smitten by her at first sight, and the two of them would live happily ever after.

Jungkook lived more practically. He and Laylin had known each other since birth. They did everything together, including going to the same college and co-renting an apartment smack in the middle of the downtown area after graduating. Jungkook always cared about her, and listened to everything she said. He was there for her through all her ups and her downs. During all that time together, he developed feelings for her. He never bothered to mention those feelings to Laylin though because he knew they wouldn't be reciprocated. This idol of hers had her full attention, and he was stupid to think he could compete.

Holding the flyer in his hand, Jungkook stalked out into the kitchen where Laylin sat at the island. She looked at him over the bowl of cereal she was holding to her lips with a small smile, drinking the milk out of it. Jungkook walked over, slapping the flyer down on the island top. Kim Taehyung's face smiled up at him; his fingers in a V in front of one eye.

"I told you that if you want a ticket to his stupid concert, you need to save up the money yourself. I'm not buying it for you."

Laylin chuckled as she brought the bowl away from her lips, placing it on the island top.

"Awww, but Kookie, you know I just had to fix my car. I don't have the money."

"Is it my fault you bought a hunk of junk?"

She rolled her eyes, getting up to walk over to him. Gently putting her hands on his shoulders, she directed him towards one of the nearby bar stools, forcing him to take a seat.

"Someone's grumpy. Let me get you some breakfast."

"That won't change my mind," said Jungkook as he watched Laylin walk over to the fridge, digging out a carton of eggs, "And of course I'm grumpy! I woke up with that stupid flyer taped to my forehead!"

"You're aware that you're grumpy. That's good," said Laylin as she ignored his comment about the flyer. "You know they say self awareness is the first step towards healing."

Now it was Jungkook's turn to roll his eyes as he watched Laylin begin to cook him some fried eggs. His gaze soon turned sideways to look at the flyer that he had slapped down. The ticket information was underneath Taehyung's big mug along with the date. It was only two weeks from now. Laylin turned aside from cooking for a moment to look at Jungkook, noticing that he was looking at the flyer.

"I'm sorry. I'll stop pestering you about it," said Laylin.

Jungkook sighed as he looked back at Laylin. He couldn't lie. He was envious of this man he had never met for being able to hold the affections of the woman he loved. Maybe he could get into her good graces if he did a kind gesture for her.

"Look...I'll make you a deal."

"I'm listening," she said as she turned back to look at the eggs she was cooking.

"If I buy you a ticket..."

"No. Not a ticket. I want tickets. Two to be exact," she said.

"Two tickets? Why?" asked Jungkook confused.

"I know his concert will be crowded, and I would like to have an extra so you can go with me."

"You want me to go with you to the concert?"

"Duh!"

For a brief moment, Jungkook let his heart flutter. It was almost like a date, though he knew it wasn't a romantic date. He was just her friendly plus one like he had always been throughout her life. That fact was especially cemented when he heard Laylin add, "You're my best friend!"

"Right," said Jungkook. "Well fine then. If I buy tickets and suffer through a live version of his smash hit "Love That Girl" among his other nauseating songs, will you please stop dropping his name so much? And stop making me listen to his music or watch his V Lives?"

"I will tone mentions to him down to a hundred times a day as sacrilege as that will be for me, and I'll only force you to watch the special occasion V Lives...deal?"

Jungkook chuckled; a small smile gracing his face as he nodded his head.

"Fine. It's a deal."

"Wait. You're actually going to buy me tickets?"

"With that condition in place, ye-"

Jungkook didn't even manage to finish his sentence as a girly squeal left Laylin's mouth. She abandoned her post at the stove and ran over to him, squeezing him in an octopus tight hug from behind. Jungkook pretended that he was about to pass out, straining his voice as he chuckled.

"Laylin...I won't be able to buy tickets if you squeeze the life out of me."

Laylin chuckled, releasing her hold of him to skip back over to the eggs. She turned the burner off as she plated it; Jungkook getting up from the island to go into the living room where he had left his laptop the night before. He sat down on the couch, turning it on to go the Kim Taehyung's official site to begin researching how to get tickets. Laylin brought him his plated fried eggs and a cup of orange juice, placing it on the coffee table in front of him before sitting down on the couch beside him. As soon as Kim Taehyung's face lit up the website's screen, she squealed again. Jungkook winced as she did it right in his ear.

"How old are you? Five?"

"I'm twenty five, thank you very much. I'm the same age as you nummy."

"Then start acting like it," he said teasingly as he scrolled down to the bottom of the page where it mentioned where to get tickets.

He thought that he would be able to get them online, but every time he tried to click the 'ticket' button, it wouldn't go through.

"How long have these tickets been on sale?"

"Two days now. Why?"

"Because I can't click on the place where you can buy tickets."

Frowning, Laylin reached over to take Jungkook's laptop off his lap without asking, beginning to see for herself. Jungkook let her, bending forward to grab his plate to start eating his eggs before they got too cold. He watched Laylin as she scanned through Kim Taehyung's website for information on how to buy tickets for a minute or two before clicking open a new tab.

"Okay, so I figured out why you can't buy it off his official website. The initial round is sold out. It sold out in under a minute according to this news article," said Laylin, "But they have a special reserved batch at the box office that you can buy in person. There might still be some there."

"Where is this box office?"

"It's at the stadium he'll be performing at," said Laylin as she turned Jungkook's laptop slightly sideways on her lap to show him the stadium where Taeyhung was set to perform.

"I'd ask you to drive to get it with my credit card since it's my first day off in a long time," started Jungkook, "but since your car is still in the shop, I guess that means I'm driving all the way across..."

"THANK YOU!"

Laylin's squeal was something that Jungkook was sure was going to make him permanently deaf at some point. She turned sideways to hug him, almost dropping his laptop onto the ground along with what remained of his eggs.

"Careful!" he said with a chuckle.

"Sorry, sorry!"

Jungkook finished up the breakfast she had prepared for him before moving to clean up. There went his day off work. The things he did for Laylin and her obsession with Kim Tae-Freaking-Hyung.
