Predator & Prey

"Why did you kill him!?" Someone yelled. "Because I had to! What else do you expect me to do!?" Boboiboy answered. "Oh I don't fucking know, maybe not kill him?!" He responded. "Look, it was a life or death situation. It was either he was going to fucking kill me, or I kill him. No in betweens whatsoever!" Boboiboy said sternly.

"If that's how you want it then fine, I'm done with being your friend." The mysterious figure yelled and left the room briskly. Boboiboy sighed and sat back down, feeling remarkably tired & overwhelmed.

Foot steps quickly approached him, and he quickly turned around, ready to fight. He lowered his guard down, however, once he realized who it was. He scoffed and said, "What? Come to laugh here at my miserable mistakes and doings? Sod off-"

"I'm here to help you. You got scarrings from that mission am I not wrong?" The other person said. Boboiboy hung his head low, and gave a slight nod. He gestured for the young boy to follow him, which he did.

He lead him through a long hallway and into another room. One our protagonist had never seen nor looked in before. It was plain & simple. No decorations nor colors adorned the place as it remained a sleek & elegant shade of grey.

The individual pointed at a chair on the far end of the room and said, "Sit." Our hero expressed no resistance and did as he was told. The man went straight to his desk and started to comb through his paraphernalia.

Our hero, on the hand, had become less attentive to his surroundings as his mind became a blank space, filled with questions & his wildest dreams.

He suddenly hissed at the sharp sting on his back and turned around to see the man applying something on his wound. "My apologies, I should've warned you beforehand." He said. Boboiboy merely shrugged it off and just sat immobile.

After around 13 seconds of this, the man suddenly stopped and took a needle in his hands, already with a thread. He warned him, "This is going to hurt." But he was already prepared and remained silent for the next few minutes through the pain.

"Now", he started once he cleaned everything up, "What happened?" Boboiboy scoffed and looked away. Unfortunately, this dude had a behaviour of a saint, and he did not.

"Why would you want to know about the bad blood between me and him? All he had to do was stay, now we don't talk, isn't it over now?" He said. "I can see you... and I understand... that girl was the foolish one." The man said.

Boboiboy sighed and said, "I know karma will hit when it does, don't really know if it will be for me or him... But it hits different now. I should've known she was the mastermind behind this great war between us... Well... now that everything has changed, it's time to start fresh and begin again."

"Hm... I have an offer." The guy said. The junior quirked his eyebrow in interest. "Join me and start a new beginning, and we shall bring a reign of peace & harmony in this galaxy." He said. Skeptical, the elemental hero asked, "And what's the catch?" The man smiled, and said, "There is no catch. So, what do you say?"

He extended out his hand. "What if I refuse?" Boboiboy asked. "But why would you?" He asked. "Reasons that may be important later on." He replied simply. Boboiboy crossed his arms and asked, "Now, why would you want me?" The man grumbled lightly in annoyance, and mentioned, "You sure are a stubborn one aren't you?"

He got up to walk to the side of the room containing books. "Why else would you think she would have a headache and rant almost every evening about me and the training?" Boboiboy chuckled.

"Fair point, you're just like your father. But you are still your mother's son in every aspect." The man mentioned. "I mean that is true... I got mom's sense of creative goofiness... I mean why in the world would I have an idea to go out with mom and dye it key lime green?" Boboiboy said with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I feel bad for Betty honestly... had to endure lots of color attacks from both you and your mother. And even then-" "She loved us and was okay with it because she knew she was safe and sound with us..." Boboiboy finished with a small smile.

The man looked up from the book he was reading and frowned seeing how disturbed the young boy was. He sighed "I know that typically I would have to play as the anti-hero or I'm just generally not the type to act like this but...". He raised the chin up of the teenager in front of him so they were staring eye-to-eye.

"I'm still here to talk with you if you ever need it. You don't even have to ask." He continued softly, warmth radiating in his eyes. However Boboiboy turned away from his gaze and opted to stare at the floor, cross-armed and all.

The man sighed for who knows how many times he had already sighed due to this boy's stubbornness. He grabbed a chair to place beside the boy and sit on it, placing an arm around the boy.

"Tell me, is there anything else still bothering you?" He asked calmly. "I-I- dunno..." Boboiboy responded. "I feel relaxed and calm knowing that it's almost all over but..." "You still feel trapped? Like a message in a bottle? Far away in the cold, harsh waters of the ocean..." The man finished.

Boboiboy didn't face him but simply nodded. "My boy... let me ask you a question... Have you ever felt guilty for... murder?" The man asked. Again, nothing but mere silence and a slight nod.

"It feels like everything is falling apart isn't it?" He asked, voice steady and calm, yet an annoyance to those... explosive.

"Well what do you expect!? Castles crumbling down everyday! My thoughts is like a train-track pointing towards each other!" Boboiboy snapped, unheld emotions lurking behind those weak & fragile windows.

No babel of any sort was mentioned. The man swiftly yet silently stood and made his way back towards the bookshelf.

The mystery man scanned through the list till laid eyes upon a certain book, a comic book. "It sucks doesn't it..." He murmurs at the tip of his tongue.

He flips through the pages until it settles on a certain page. Superman... the man comments, "It's a shame how they expect all heroes to be like superman... strong, brave, and the better man of their little pathetic world... Yet...".

He flips again till he lands on another page, this time, superman looks defeated. "They forget how easy it is for them to have to run... So sweet... so innocent... so pure...".

He closed it to take a look at the flower vase sitting on the table. He reached out his hand and clenched it. They wilted away, color drained drastically.

"But yet so haunted, being pulled away by an invisible string... peace never reigns, oh and poor you..." He strutted over to the elemental hero and bent down to his level.

"Only fifteen and yet so powerful... so untouchable... yet everything you endured.... they always say tolerate it... but tell me sweet boy, do you?"

"Oh why the fuck would you care?" Boboiboy hissed, still as sturdy and strong as ever. "Why I only wish to help you reach your true potential that's all... to help build castles out of the bricks that they threw at you..." He replies.

Yet the young boy remained as stubborn as ever. Boboiboy sat up straight, scoffing at the man's reply, "Still, I get it's nice to have a friend but... I'd rather have a death by a thousand cuts than join you... I'd rather never see daylight again...".

The man was not giving up however. "You need to calm down my boy... soothe out your thoughts... listen to what your saying..." "Listen to what I'm saying!? Why don't you listen to what YOUR saying!" Boboiboy exclaimed angrily. "Plus since when have you started caring about MY life!? What are you trying to do here!?"

The man grimaced at the boy's tone, yet he remained calm & level-headed. "Didn't you say it was... morals... that cause us to feel sympathy... That causes us to feel.. guilt?" He asked with a calm tone. "Why, you said yourself not long ago, not a single person in this world lives without having morals of some sort... otherwise, what is there to live for?" He said, reminiscing those days that seemed oh so long ago.

Boboiboy was getting more ticked off every second. This man sure knew how to pinpoint his weak spots. He growled lowly and snapped, "So, what? What of I said years ago? What the fuck does it have to do with your attitude now!?" He merely chuckled, further infuriating the young boy, and looked quite amused. "Oh don't you realize it Oboi! I care about you. I care about living beings. I have morals too!" He said.

Boboiboy scoffed, "And??" The man projected a hologram and showed him videos. "Don't you see? People are dying and suffering, and most don't do anything about them. I wanna help them, and you can help too. Join me and we can reshape the world into something more...". He said. He then closed off the hologram, and looked to see the boy so conflicted.

Boboiboy stayed silent, a worm pool of emotions caught up in his head. He had a point, why wouldn't he accept it? This universe is shit anyways. People always seem to hate on him for every mistake he makes. His so called 'best friend' literally left him! The man, sensing the uncertainty in him, sighed. He got up and said, "But of course, if you need time.. I understand." He went straight for the door only to be stopped by the young boy.

"Wait-!" He said. He looked at the man dead in the eye and answered, "I've made my decision. I wanna join you." The man grinned widely and held out his hand. "On the condition however," Boboiboy added, eying the man, "That my friends & family will be spared from anything."

The man, with a victorious look, answered saying, "You've got yourself a deal." The young hero, now ready to risk it all, took the hand of the other and shook it. He officially sealed the deal. "Welcome to the crew Boboiboy.." He said.

~5 Months Later~

It was 11pm at TAPOPS. Most agents were already dead asleep by this aside from those on patrol. But even then, they were also really sleepy. Aside from the occasional late-returning ships from missions, it was mostly just quiet.

Footsteps quickly awoke the patrolling agents and they immediately became on guard. But silently, they were killed. One by one, each agent dropped dead to the floor. One of them got panicked and tried to run away but he was quickly killed. The killer cursed at him silently for delaying him before hiding away in the shadows.

He quickly made his way to a certain room, and quietly entered. He locked eyes on his target and took out his sword. "Say goodnight forever you piece of shit." And with that, he struck. The alarms went off this time and lights turned red. He looked around for a bit with a gleeful smile. As quickly as he arrived, he left & left no trace behind.

As he left, agents arrived and everyone was awake. Fang looked at the deceased person and his eyes widened. "How did someone managed to kill Laksamana..." Fang muttered. The scene before him showed a pool of blood surrounding the now beheaded, Laksamana Tarung.

Few days later, a funeral was held for the beloved admiral in his home planet. Not far away, on one of the nearby hills stood his murderer. He looked on from afar with a blank face. Another man soon stood beside him and struck up a conversation.

"You do not regret killing him one bit huh?" The man asked, though it came out as more of a statement. His companion snorted in amusement and replied, "Why would I? He never gave a shit about me, he always AND only gave a shit about his reputation. As if I'd give a fuck about him." The man hummed in agreement and they continued to watch it from afar.

"You're getting better though. I might start fearing for my life in the future with the progress you're making." The man chuckled. The other looked proud and declared, "Why, I learned from the best." The man chuckled and said, "I'm truly flattered my boy...". And the two exchanged a look before laughing.

A few more minutes passed, before the man stood up and said, "Well, we have to go back now. Let's go Oboi." The person, now identified as Boboiboy, nodded and stood up. "You think there's a chance you'll let me go back again?" Boboiboy asked. The man looked thoughtful before answering, "Maybe, if you eventually get better I might consider." Boboiboy sported a grin and said, "Whatever you say....
