Common Ground: Chptr: 6 Closer

You were driving around the town like a fucking madman. You went to some part of town you had never really been into before. You have only been living in the town for two years and you never really left your area. Except going to work, the park, and the stores.

Your eyes were darting around, looking out for cops and your dog. You were driving well past the speed limit and you didn't want to get pulled over.

You thought you saw her, you hit your breaks as hope fills you, only to be quickly drained away when you realized it was just an opossum.

Thirty minutes turned into an hour and then an hour and a half.

As you were driving, you thought you saw her again. You had to do a hard double-take and then you had to do another one when you saw a figure walk out onto the street in front of you.

You slammed on the brakes as hard as you can. You couldn't close your eyes. You were gripping the steering wheel with both hands, pushing yourself back. You were pushing against the momentum, everything was going forward. Your wide eyes never left the figure who was standing in front of your car.

Your breathing was shaky while the blood in your body went cold and then hot.

The adrenaline ran through your body, making you shake in your seat when you finally came to a complete stop. You were just a few inches away from hitting...

You had to put your car in park as you let out a sigh, covering your face in relief. Glad that you didn't kill him on accident.

He walked up to the passenger side of the car and knocked on the window. He then tried to open the car door. Indirectly telling you to unlock it. You unlocked your doors and allowed him to sit in your car as it slightly moved under his weight.

"Well, hello there, darlin'~. Were ya looking for me?"

You gave him a weird look. Was he flirting with you?

You let out a scoff, you were extremely annoyed with this man. "No, I actually wasn't. And also," -you adjusted in your seat, facing towards him- "has your mother never told you to look both ways before crossing the road?!"

Bob seemed to roll his eyes at you. "Why are ya out here? Yer not usually in this part of town."

Furrowing your eyebrows, you stared at him. "How would you know that?"

His slight frown turned up into a smile as it widens and spreads across his face. "Oh, little lamb. I know a lot of things about-chu."

'Oh, great. How long has he been stalking me?'

"U-uhm, okay. Anyways...I'm looking for someone else," you nervously said, fiddling your fingers together.

Bob stared at you, even though he was smiling, he looked angry. "Who?"

Your car windows started fogging up as you become nervous.

"Are you seeing someone? Behind my back?" he asked as he got closer to you.

He was reaching for his knife from his toolbelt as he waited for you to answer.

You looked at him funny, scrunching up your face. "Huh? Behind your-- what? No, I'm looking for our dog."

"What?"

"Oops."

"Where is she?"

You gulped. "I-I don't know, Bob. She-she escaped my backyard." You started tearing up as you thought about your dog. "I'm so worried about her. What if someone takes her and hurts her? What if someone kills her because they're scared of her? What if someone sells her off to a dog fighting ring and uses her as bait? What if--"

"Okay, okay. Just...calm down," Bob said, sliding his gloved demon hand down his masked face.

He softened his demeanor. It was clear you really cared and loved your dog.

"Did-chu get her one of those name tag thangs?"

You cursed under your breath in frustration. "Argh! I was literally at the pet store today. Why didn't I think of that?"

Bob hummed in thought. "Did-chu see her when you were drivin' around?"

You nodded. "Actually, I think so, yeah, she was just--"

Suddenly, you heard barking near your car. You turned your head and looked through your car window. Your windows were tinted but you could still see the other side.

Opening your car door, your dog squeezed herself between the gap and jumped on your lap. She then climbed over the middle console and stood on Bob's lap, shoving her face into his.

"Heya, sweetheart. Did-cha miss me?" Bob cooed, giving the dog some rough rubs on her body.

"God, she's such a troublemaker," you said with a laugh, giving your dog some pets. She turned towards you and licked your hand.

You let out a gasp as you smiled. "That's it!"

"What's 'it'?"

You told Bob a name that was related to causing mischief and causing trouble because of, well, ever since she came into your life, it seemed like you've been running into some trouble lately.

Bob looked at the dog with a relaxed expression. Still smiling, but not as intense as it always was. "Whatcha think, girl?"

Your dog stared at Bob and gave him a quick lick on the face. He let out a chuckle and turned his attention toward you. "I think she likes it and... I like it too."

You felt yourself blush and glanced away. "I'm glad. Um, anyways, let's go home."

You drove back to your house and all three of you entered inside. You decided to go use the toilet and wash up a little bit before you make dinner.

Leaving your bathroom, you headed towards your kitchen and saw Bob sitting at your dining table eating something.

Walking closer, you saw him shoving a sandwich cookie in his mouth. You furrowed your eyebrows. You didn't remember buying any Oreos or anything similar. Until you realized, you have indeed.

You snatched the box away and ripped the cookie out of his red gloves as he was about to shove another one in his mouth.

"These are not for you!" you scolded Bob.

He stared at you like you were crazy. "C'mon! I was only gonna have a couple."

"Bob! These are not for human consumption. They're for dogs!"

Bob stared at you and then glanced away. "Huh, they taste like the real thang."

You groaned but a smile crept on your face. "Did you not read the label?"

"They were in your pantry! Why did you put dog food with the human food?"

"Well, I wasn't expecting someone to go digging through my stash!"

Bob just exhaled. "Well, it doesn't taste too bad though." He then presented you with a cookie that he was holding in his other hand. "Wanna try one?"

"Wh-- I'm not going to...!" You paused and reached for the cookie and sighed. "Actually, y'know what? Give me that."

You could smell the cookie and it smelled like the real thing. You took a nibble at it and it tasted surprisingly sweet. Even the flavor labeled on the box was accurate and definitely matched the taste. You then shoved the whole thing in your mouth and ate it up.

"Damn, that was... surprisingly good."

You saw your dog looking up at you, begging to get a treat. You smiled down at her and grabbed a cookie, tossing it up in the air. She jumped and caught it in her mouth.

"Ooh! Nice one! Did you see that?!" you said excitedly, looking over at Bob.

Bob stared at you, his smile still wide and unchanging. It was, even more, creepier that he had his whole demon outfit on.

You weren't sure if you were going to get used to it. But it seemed like you were going to have to. He might be coming over a lot more often. Which then reminded you about something.

"Hey, I got a quick question."

Bob raised an eyebrow underneath his mask. "What?"

You started to lightly chuckle, you glanced away from him as you becoming a bit nervous. "So, uh. This is weird... but would you like to celebrate Friendsgiving with me? Probably... next Friday?"

"What the hell is a 'Friendsgiving'?"

"Oh, well, Friendsgiving is like Thanksgiving. Except it's just with friends and it's casual."

There was a little bit of silence on Bob's end. "Why...?" he asked, slowly.

"I-I don't know. I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving. I just worked that day. And...I always wanted to have a Friendsgiving. I just thought that maybe-- y'know? Nevermind..." You started to feel embarrassed. Why were you even bringing up the idea? There's no way that he would--

"Sure."

"Wait. What?"

"I'll go to your Friendsgiving...bullshit thang."

Tears welled up in your eyes, but you kept your composure and blinked them away. You grabbed a random square napkin and a stray pen, handing them to Bob. "Great! You should write down what you want to eat."

He lifted up his finger and opened his mouth.

"No, it has to be...non-human foods. So, I'll be getting the ingredients," you stated bluntly. But then smiled. "You can help me with the cooking though!"

Bob placed his finger down and shrugged. "Fine." He looked down at his napkin and began to think.

"Well, while you do that, I'm going to start cooking dinner. Would you like some?"

Bob's relaxed smile turned wide and wicked as he stared at you. "I already ate not too long ago. But, I don't think I'll mind another meal."

You just noticed that Bob had some blood splattered on his red sweater. You shuddered at the thought and cleared your throat. "Ah, I'm just gonna. Yep, okay..."

You began looking through your pantry. Even with the limited amount of food you had at the moment. You were able to make something fulfilling and delicious. Luckily, you had a decent amount of seasoning available to make any bland meal taste delicious.

You placed a plate of food in front of Bob and then in front of your seat. Before you began to eat, you gave her some food and a fresh bowl of water for your dog.

"Oh, by the way, thanks for taking care of her while I was gone," you said as you sat down at your spot.

Bob glanced up at you with his signature wide grin. "Of course, lambchop."

You gave him a flustered smile and the both of you began to eat your food in silence. Bob made a pleasant face. Enjoying his non-human food. The sounds of your silverware hitting the plates filled the room.

"So, are you planning on staying the night again?" you asked Bob sheepishly.

He looked up from his plate and gave you an amused smirk. "Why? Do ya want me to?"

You felt the heat rise up to your ears as you poked at your food. "Ah, uh, I-I mean. I was just... wondering."

Bob let out a chortle that made your insides tighten. "Well, darlin'. I hope ya don't mind if I do~."

"N-no. Not at all," you whispered and then shoved your food in your mouth.

You quickly finished your food and Bob finished around the same time you did. You stood up and grabbed your plate and then his.

"I'm going to take a shower," you announced as you walked over to the sink and placed your plates inside.

You felt gross, your job makes you sweat a lot and the whole adventure you went on today just made you even more sweaty.

You heard Bob let out a hum. "I think I'm in need of a shower too. Mind if I join ya~?"

You knew what was going to happen if you did let him. You felt heat down between your legs. You bit the inside of your cheek as you imagined him ramming his cock inside you.

"No...not at all."

You were kinda glad that you haven't taken that Plan B yet.

---

Friendsgiving was coming up tomorrow and you felt like you might have gotten a little closer to Bob.

A few days ago, you finally got a birth control implant. It was one of the better options for you. With that safety net in mind, your attitude towards having sex with him has totally changed. Something that Bob enjoys very very much.

You also started to feel a little, ever so slightly, more comfortable with Bob. He has been crashing at your place more often throughout the week and has been staying longer. And has been...taking care of you every night in the shower after work. Which might be making you feel things. But you tried to ignore it desperately. You didn't know what he wanted from you.

It has gotten to the point where he would even bring some of his personal items. Extra clothing, his knife collection, and other miscellaneous stuff.

The cops rarely ever show up in the neighborhood you lived in. You might have seen a cop once. But that was because of a noise complaint and that was a year ago. Your neighbors are also a lot of older citizens, so they don't come out past a certain time and are dead asleep.

Your house was the perfect place for him to be there. It was also the fact that 'his' dog lived with you. You tried to tell him to say 'our' dog, but he insists that the dog is his.

Your lips were curved up as you were sitting next to Bob on the couch, watching him pull on a tug rope along with your dog.

Bob looked up at you with a soft gentle smile. Something you haven't seen often. It always makes your heart jump when you do see it. You felt heat growing on your face and glanced away from him. Rewatching the TV, trying to make those feelings disappear.
