It was currently night time, it was raining and thundering. The five teens were running to get shelter, unaware that they were about to meet each other. Pearl and Grian were trying to stay dry by using their wings. Mumbo was using a hoodie he stole to stay dry. Impulse was using his phantom wings to stay dry. Scar had a small blanket to cover himself and Jellie.

Eventually a cave was in view of the five, although the cave four entrances. Immediately they were in and haven't turn to see each other yet. After some time the five turned to finally meet face to face. "AH!" Scar yelled and jumped back. Mumbo immediately went into defensive mode. Impulse hid behind a rock. Pearl and Grian were ready to fight incase these other guys were a threat.

Jellie looked around the cave and meows. The five look at Jellie before they heard the phantom-imp hybrid mumbled something. "Sorry what was that?" Scar asked. "I said cute cat..." Impulse said quietly and nervously, there were too many people around that he felt uncomfortable. "Oh thank you, her name is Jellie" Scar said with a comforting smile.

Grian and Pearl look at each other, confused. Mumbo just kept looking at each of them individually, trying to figure out what they are like based on their looks. Impulse went back being silent and stayed behind his rock trying to not show the monster he is. "Are you a pirate?" Pearl suddenly asked to Scar.

"Well my parents are. I want to be one someday" Scar said. "Vex?" Mumbo asked to the vex hybrid. "Oh yeah, um vampire?" Scar said right back to him. "Yeah, not hungry right now. So no need to worry" Mumbo said and Scar nods. Grian sat down with Pearl sitting next to him.

Scar pets Jellie while Mumbo stayed quiet. Impulse didn't come out from hiding and was simply picking at a small rock that he found. "So what are you guys place?" Grian asked. "Scar. Scar GoodTimes" Scar said with a soft smile. "Mumbo K. Jumbo" Mumbo said. "Impulse SV" Impulse said quietly from his hiding spot. "Cool I'm Grian Bachelor Dwyer and the dove hybrid is my sister Pearl Moon Dwyer" Grian said.

"Dwyer? Huh familiar name but I guess I'm imagining things again" Mumbo said. "Yeah..." Pearl mumbled. Scar looked at them. "Looks like we are all hybrids but um Impulse" Scar said trying to look over at the rock. "Y-Yeah" Impulse said nervously. "What exactly hybrid are you or are you human?" Pearl asked. Impulse sighs and comes out of hiding. They look at him, surprised. "I know I'm a monster..." Impulse mumbled and turned away from their looks.

"You're saying that to a vampire" Mumbo said trying to make him feel better. "A vampire please, people say vexes like me eat people. Which is true" Scar said. Pearl and Grian stayed silent and look at each other. "Umm cool arm?" Grian said to Mumbo, it was clear the parrot avian didn't know how to compliment people. "Oh thanks, this guy made it for me" Mumbo said.

That night the five chatted with each other well mostly Scar he was the chatter. Eventually they all fell asleep soundly. Impulse was asleep on the rock, Scar was asleep cuddling with Jellie, Mumbo was asleep while sitting up, and Grian and Pearl were asleep while holding each other.

~Time Skip~

A year passed and the five eventually became friends. Pearl and Grian told them about their royal blood which shocked the others to say the least, Scar did kinda pass out from the shock. But he was fine after Impulse tossed him in a tree, half fine technically.

One day the five was in their house or a cave they made to look kinda like a house with the help of Impulse since he had experience with that. They were lying down on the pile of leaves they call "their bed". "Hey guys, y'know I told you how I wanted to be a pirate when we first met. Well if I do ever become on, would you guys want to be apart of my crew?" Scar asked.

"I wouldn't mind" Impulse said with a smile. "Sure" Mumbo said. "Pearl? Grian? I know you two don't like pirates, so you don't ha-" Scar was cut off. "Sure" Grian said happily. "Mkay" Pearl said. "Really? Huh? That's surprising coming from you two" Scar said with a chuckle. Grian and Pearl roll their eyes.

~Time Skip~

Years passed and the friends were now adults or young adults technically. Scar had finally had enough money for a surprise, he's been saving up from the jobs they had to work with and stealing from the rich. "Come on guys! I swear you'll are love it!" Scar exclaimed excitedly. The four seemed confused as Scar had forced them to close their eyes.

"What is it Scar?" Grian asked and Scar smiled brightly as he lead them to the docks. "Ready and open!" Scar said and the four open their eyes. A lovely ship was in front of them. "Y'know how I said I wanted to be a pirate since my parents were ones. Soooo- I present to you guys...The Flying Jellie!" Scar said, his eyes sparkling with happiness.

The four looked at the ship in amazement. "H-How did you get this?! This had to be like a few hundred to a few thousand pounds" Mumbo said. "Especially since money is tight for us" Impulse said. "Yeah well I saved up. And now we have our own ship. Which means we have to get into the pirate fit!" Scar said.

"Alright captain but none of us are wearing an eyepatch" Pearl said. "Captain?" Scar asked confused. "Well of course! You bought it, you are our captain" Impulse said and the other three nod. "Captain...Well then okay! I'm the captain of the ship and Jellie is my first mate" Scar said as he pets Jellie. "That's fair" The four said.

Author's Note: Okay I lied about how this chapter would be the one saving Pearl but I had to do how the crew met! It's necessary! Well at least to me

Now next chapter well be the crew saving Pearl! I swear!
