The day started like any other for you. You flew to your squadron leader and waited for instructions, like always. But today was different.
The other members of your squadron were standing along side you, and the commander was pacing in front of you, a blank look on his face, but you all knew better. From the way his wings were clenched behind him, it was clear he was stressed.
"I know that it is forbidden for us to go to Earth, but I have received strict orders from on high, from God." He paused and a few murmurs started to fill the room. It was a known fact that Angels weren't allowed on Earth, and it was also a known fact that God barely ever gave orders any more.
This meant that whatever was happening was incredibly serious.
"I'm sure you all know the demons Bakugou and Todoroki? They have escaped Heaven's prison and are rampaging throughout Earth. It is important that we deal with them before they can cause any more damage than they already have," he said, eyes narrowed.
A few gasps escaped some angels' lips. Everyone knew who Todoroki and Bakugou were.
Long ago, when the mighty Lucifer had rebelled against Heaven, two of the strongest angels had gone to his side. They were dangerous, and only Micheal and the armies of Heaven were able to defeat all them.
The two angels had been captured (and Lucifer just disappeared), but only after slaughtering thousands, no, millions of angels. You were lucky that you were merely a fletching then, too young to fight.
The stories of their violence and blood-lust were still popular today.
"Sir, I know that this is a very dangerous situation that needs to be taken care of, but we are only a small squadron of 10! How could we possibly hope to defeat them?" another angel in your squadron questioned, an unsure look on their face.
Commander immediately swung around to face the angel directly, and stepped extremely close to them.
"Have you forgotten that we are the strongest and most resilient squadron in the whole unit? We are strong, mighty, warriors that have trained every single day for something like this! No other squadron could ever hope to surpass us in terms of strength, intelligence, or faith. We are the best of the best, and if you have doubts about that, you can leave now and never come back!" The commander growled loudly into their face.
With those words, you could feel the intense confidence radiating from the other members. His words had inspired them, and they probably felt like they could take on anything.
You knew better though. You were the youngest member in the squadron, and along with that came along doubts and fears that no other angels ever had. You had never been in battle, and you had never even seen a demon's face. You were so incredibly weak and frail compared to the other angels.
You sulked slightly in the back of the group, fearing death.
"It is time!" The commander yelled. A small cheer rose up in the room, and Commander flew out of the room, nearly sending you off of your feet. The rest of the angels whipped after him, clear excitement shining through.
You lingered behind everyone else, a lump stuck in your throat.
I'm scared, but it's an order coming from God directly. And if humans are being hurt, it is my duty as an angel to protect them.
With a slightly better resolve, you flew after your squadron, thoughts still racing.
————-
The battle was more horrifying than you could ever imagine. Angel blood and grace was everywhere, even staining your once white wings. Humans were torn and scattered around, like rag dolls.
You were the only one left. Battered, scared, and injured, you could barely stand any longer. Your wings were badly broken, making it impossible to retreat. This was the end.
The two demons stalked towards you, one of them a wicked grin on his face. The other was steely and blank.
You fell to your knees, and clasped your hands together one last time in prayer.
"I have failed you, father. I could not protect the humans or my fellow angels. I was weak, no... I am weak."
You were so caught up in your prayer you almost didn't notice the human crawling toward you. As you connected eyes with her, you almost felt a sense of relief. One was still alive.
"Oi, look, this human is still kicking!" The blonde demon grinned as he casually strolled towards her, blood dripping off of his clothes.
The other demon barely spared the human a glance before looking back at you and speaking, "Finish her quickly, and I will finish this angel. Then we can get back to our original mission."
A sudden spike of fear shot through you.
The blonde demon, Bakugou smirked and stood over the now bawling human.
"I'd much rather see this human suffer!"
He raised his foot, and before he could stomp it down, you were there.
You had lifted your broken wings and flew over there as fast as you could, ignoring the cracking of more of your bones. You fell down over the crying human, and pulled them close to your bloody and burning body.
"I will protect you with my last breath," you managed to say before a foot slammed down on your back. You screamed as you felt your spine crack.
The human looked up at you slightly in awe and fear.
"Oh, look at that! The winger managed to save the human before I could kill her," Bakugou mused as he stared down at you. Excitement flashed in his eyes.
"This ones different," he murmured.
He wasn't expecting it when your broken wings suddenly puffed up and harshly hit him in the face. He coughed slightly, a bloody feather almost lodged down his throat.
Before he could react, your fist met with his face, causing his head to swing to the side.
"Do not touch this human, or you shall feel the burning wraith of an angel!" You warned loudly.
He turned his head slowly towards you, and instead of a grin there was a scowl on his face, which nearly made your legs buckle.
"Do you mean like the wraith of those angels I slaughtered just a few fucking moments ago?" He growled. You were shocked to find his bleeding cheek was healing.
How could this demon still have the power to heal, even after fighting the most powerful angels Heaven had to offer?
He truly was a monster.
There was a sudden coldness behind you, and before you could react, a blade was shoved through your stomach. You instantly fell back, and a muscled body caught your fall.
"You bastard! I wanted to take this one down myself!" Bakugou growled as blood spurted from your mouth.
"You were taking too long," a voice monotoned by your ear.
The blade twisted in your stomach, causing a blue light to shine from your eyes and mouth. You body went completely limp, and Todoroki dropped you to the floor, by the now silent human.
You were dead.
Todoroki barely twitched his wrist, and a blade of ice erupted through the human's chest, causing instant death.
——-
You woke up to a warm, soothing sensation flowing throughout your body.
"Wake up, (Y/N)," a calming voice said.
Your eyes fluttered open, and you met eyes with a skittish looking human. He smiled at you softly.
"It's time to get up."
His hands against your back as he helped you sit up were warm.
You groaned as your wings screamed as the movement, but they were soon feeling numb.
You connected eyes with the human and worry flowed throughout you.
"Human, it is much too dangerous for you to be here! Hurry, before the demons find you and kill you!" You worried, pushing against the human gently, trying to convey your fear through your words.
They didn't buckle, and instead softly grabbed and held your hands.
So warm.
"Do not worry, my child. I will be okay," he smiled. A white glow started to come from his body, and you instantly knew who he was.
"Father," you whispered. A sudden tear rolled down your face, and he was quick to wipe it away, before resting his hand against your cheek.
You couldn't stop yourself from dropping into his embrace, and you couldn't stop the overflow of unwelcome tears. You were an honored angel, and you should definitely not be crying, especially in front of God. He could smite you or rip your wings from your back for sinning.
But despite that, he soothed you with kind words and warm hands.
You pulled away from his embrace, and took in all of the disaster around you. Dismembered, bloody humans were spread everywhere. Buildings were obliterated. And the angels were destroyed.
It was hard to look at.
You eyes eventually found the young human you had attempted to protect.
There was a large gaping hole through the human's chest. Pieces of ice were scatted around the human.
You had failed to protect her.
You scurried over to her body, before pulling it close to your own and weeping. The pain you felt was like nothing you had ever felt ever before.
A hand touched your shoulder, bring you back to reality.
"I brought you back from the nothingness, so that you may prevent this from ever happening again. This is your second chance. Use it wisely," his voice said.
You turned to look at him, but he was already gone.
"Why? Why me?"
———
After that horrible massacre, you had chased the two demons.
You had found that you had been blessed with new abilities. You were much more powerful than before.
Tracking the demons wasn't hard, as they left piles of bodies wherever they went. But you never got there fast enough, they were always gone before you could face them.
The memories of your first battle kept you distracted, and you felt so much hopelessness. But your father's words kept you going.
"This is your second chance. Use it wisely."
You couldn't give up.
Weeks passed by before you finally knew when and where they were going to be. You had finally cracked their pattern.
They were hitting spots that angel activity had been before.
It was easy to figure out where they would go next once you knew this.
——
It was merely a field, but you knew better. You knew that underneath this field lie a direct portal to hell.
Maybe you could use that to your advantage.
You felt their presence behind you almost as soon as you got there.
"Finally! A fucking angel shows up! Why'd it take so long for you stupid wingers to figure out our pattern? And where's your army, huh? You can't fucking think you can take us on alo—"
His words stopped abruptly as you turned around and faced him. Bakugou's face went blank as he gazed soon you.
Todoroki stiffened beside him.
"You should be dead," he stated.
You ignored the comment and stepped towards them.
"What is your goal? What do you hope to do by going to places angels have previously went to? What is your mission?" You sternly asked, but underneath that stern exterior you felt fear on the inside.
They were silent, staring at you with slight confusion.
Todoroki stepped forward and spoke, "Our goal is to exterminate all Angel kind."
Bakugou glared at Todoroki slightly, obviously not pleased at Todoroki telling you.
"I see," you said.
You summoned a sword from your chest, something that only Archangels could do, but now you could too.
You got yourself into a fighting position, and your form started to glow with a blue light.
They started blankly, almost causing you to falter at their piercing eyes.
"There isn't any way she could have survived that last battle... And that new ability of hers... There is only one person who could have caused this,"
Todoroki rambled slightly.
"She has God in her fucking corner," Bakugou finished with an icy glare.
You merely flinched, but instead your hands gripped around your sword tighter.
"Enough talking." You said.
Bakugou grinned, and raised his hands.
"I want this one all to myself, so stay out of it you half-and-half bastard!"
Explosions erupted from his palms almost as warnings, before he was flying towards you, fists raised to blast you.
You cut right through the explosions, a blue glow on your sword, seemingly dissipating the eruptions.
Bakugou glared at you. You merely stared blankly.
"So what if you can stop my explosions! I can still destroy you with my bare hands!" He screamed as he rushed at you.
You swung at him with all you had, and for a moment, it seemed like you were winning. But then there was that cold presence behind you, and warning signals flared up in your mind. All you could do was fly straight up where they really couldn't get to you. A huge shard of ice was racing towards the place you once were, and it almost hit Bakugou, but he quickly destroyed it with an explosion.
"You stupid bastard! Stay out of this. I can handle it!" Bakugou screamed. Todoroki merely glanced at him before glaring up at you.
"It seemed like she was beating you pretty good from where I was standing. We should work together to destroy her," Todoroki said.
His last words caused a shiver to run down your spin. Before Bakugou could react, you were streaming down like a Hawk about to catch its prey.
The blue glow on your skin got brighter and brighter as you flew faster and faster. You wings strained behind you.
As you finally reached the ground, a huge explosion caused debris and smoke to fill the air.
You grabbed on to the first body you felt, and started swinging your fists. They tried fighting back, but you leapt at them and pushed them to the ground. You harshly straddled them as you tried to punch their lights out.
A hand gripped you fist as it came down swinging one last time, and you were quickly flipped onto your back harshly, causing the air to leave your lungs.
Surprisingly soft hands pulled your arms above your head, and a heavy body pressed against yours.
The smoke started to clear and you were met with the sight of Todoroki above you. He was staring down at you with an unintelligible look on his face.
You couldn't understand why he wasn't attacking you, and were almost relieved he wasn't.
Suddenly, he was leaning even closer to you, and his head was pressed against your neck.
You panicked, not understanding what he was doing, and tried to escape from his grasp but he was too strong.
"What.. what are you doing!" You stuttered against the cold feel of his breath against your neck.
You couldn't help the flush that came to your cheeks. He pulled back with a barely noticeable smile.
What was going on? You should be fighting this demon, not be straddled by him!
"Oi! What's going on!" An angry voice said through the silence.
You both looked up to find a steaming Bakugou storming towards the two of you.
"Bakugou," Todoroki said as said demon got closer, "we can't kill her."
There was a long stretch of silence as you and Bakugou both stared at Todoroki in confusion.
"Huh?? And why the hell is that!"
Todoroki quickly pulled you and himself up, still holding your hands. You struggled to escape, but your strength was quickly fading.
One of his hands released yours and instead pulled your chin to one side, forcing your neck to be on full view.
"Listen," Todoroki commanded.
Bakugou stepped towards you with a furrowed eyebrow. He didn't say anything, and instead lowered his head towards your neck.
You flushed at the feeling of him so close.
He abruptly stumbled away, a shocked look on his face.
"No... no! She has to die!" He screamed and immediately sent explosions my way.
Todoroki quickly pushed you towards the explosions, startling you. You stumbled onto your knees, expecting to be blown away, but instead, you felt nothing but a slight breeze.
Bakugou stared at you in shock.
With an almost desperate look on his face, he kept sending explosions at you. But it was like they just turned into a slight wind when they reached you.
You stared at your body in shock. It was giving off the same blue glow as your sword and your grace.
It felt like Bakugou kept throwing explosions at you for hours, but he finally fell to the ground with labored breaths. He curled in on himself, and you were shocked to see his body shaking with tears.
Todoroki caught your attention by walking past you and standing by Bakugou.
"We can't kill her, Katsuki. I already told you that." Todoroki said almost blankly, but his eyes were soft when he looked at Bakugou.
Your mind went blank at his words. It felt like there was more to this situation, but your mind was so frazzled you could only focus on one thing.
"Katsuki?" You murmured.
They both looked at you, causing you to flinch.
"A demon with two names. Odd," You said as you slowly got up, brushing off your slightly bruised knees.
Angels were only ever given one true name by God, so you knew that the name 'Katsuki' was a name he gave himself. It felt personal and like you were invading his space.
You shakily watched them, being aware you could be attacked at any moment. Although you felt like they wouldn't actually attack you anymore, the glares Bakugou were giving you were still frightening.
With a deep breath, you summoned the sword once again from your chest. The two demons stiffened, but didn't move.
"It is my destiny to kill you both." You said with a finality that couldn't be reversed by words.
You raised your sword, and with a war cry, you leapt towards them. It was shocking to see how they didn't even move, but you kept going.
Your sword swung down, and instead of lodging into flesh, it bounced off, nearly hitting you in the face.
You stumbled back, eyes locked onto the two unharmed demons. Your sword faded into nothingness with a pale blue light.
"My sword may not work, but no demon can resist an angel smiting."
Since Bakugou was still kneeling on the ground in front of you, you went for him. You raised your hand and rested it on his forehead. He didn't resist at all, and even though you found it extremely odd, you didn't let it deter you.
Blue light started to erupt from your hand, and you expected his soul to burn out and die, but instead, he continued to glare up at you .
"Impossible," You gaped, your hand falling back to your side numbly.

Okay, I've been gone for a while. I'm not going to say, "I'm BacK!!" though.. I'm only posting now because this was already finished in my drafts and all I had to do was proof-read it. Here are some interesting facts: 62.385% of my readers are Americans (which is to be expected...) All of my other readers come from countries like Canada, Brazil, Australia, Finland, etc,... 0.131% of my readers are from Algeria!! That is extremely exciting because Algeria has a special place in my heart. 2% of my readers are male! Which is interesting.
