Kurogiri x Reader: Caught

Haven't updated this collection for a bit and I haven't written for him in a bit either so this works out! For this oneshot the reader will technically be a villain but doesn't really go out and commit crimes. Spoilers for chapters 162 and 163, but if you don't care about spoilers then read away. There will be a part 2 to this one too so enjoy!

"And then the main character explains the struggle between man and nature by making an analogy about the mountain in the first chapter! It's a great way to tie the story together, I can't believe I didn't see it before. I really need to brush up on my foreshadow skills."

Kurogiri had been talking about the new book he was reading for many minutes now and you just listened to him with a smile on your face, shifting a little in your small seat at the bar. Relaxing moments like this was rare for the two of you because of Kurogiri's job as second in command of the League of Villains. Today there was not much planned so you and Kurogiri were keeping it chill.

So far it had been lovely. "I think I should brush up on reading some classics. What do you think?" He asked you.

You nodded. "Yeah, I think that's a good idea. But haven't you read a lot of classic books?"

"Mm, maybe I'll re-read them...oh your coffee's ready." He replied, sliding your coffee mug over to you from across the counter. You thanked him and took a small sip of the hot drink which almost immediately made you feel more awake.

"We should start a book club. Do you think Dabi or Toga would be interested?" You said half-joking. Kurogiri chuckled, probably imagining what a weird book club that would be. "What? You never know if they'd be interested in fine literature."

"I guess." He remarked before his phone started ringing in his pocket. "Maybe it's Dabi who most definitely wants to join our new book club."

"Yeah!"

Kurogiri answered it, his voice cheery and light. But once he started listening to whoever was on the phone he became silent and serious. Something was wrong.

"Alright, I'll--yes I'll leave now. Thank you." He hung up and sighed loudly like he was frustrated.

"What's wrong? Is something happening?" By that you meant was something bad going to happen and Kurogiri would have to leave you for days on end again.

"Yes, there's a mission in the mountains that suddenly needs my help. I'll be back as soon as I can y/n." He said, going to retrieve his coat from the coat-rack behind the bar counter. You looked at him, pinching the skin of your palm with your thumb. You were getting a bad feeling about this.

"Don't go Kuro...stay with me. I don't think this will be good, I'm just getting a really bad feeling about this. Why do they need your help so soon?" You asked him and he stopped to look at you. Then the purple mist that surrounded his body dissipated and you stared at his uncovered face. His sharp yellow eyes looked at you with what looked like sadness and resignation.

He ran one hand through his neat purple hair and sighed. You knew then that he was going to go on this mission even if you didn't want him to. "Y/n...the League needs me."

"I need you." You replied, trying your best to make sure your voice didn't break. He stepped out from behind the counter and pressed the back of his hand to your cheek. You turned away from him, eyebrows furrowing with anger. "Don't. If you're going to go just leave."

His lips pressed into a tight line and nodded. "I'll see you soon then."

He opened a purple portal and warped through it, leaving you behind to think about what had just transpired between the two of you.

The coffee had gone cold.

...

It had been a full day without hearing anything from Kurogiri. Not one text or call like he had just dropped off the face of the earth. But then Shigaraki came back to the bar. You couldn't tell what the expression on his face was because of that damn hand covering it, but you could tell he was tense.

"Y/n, I've been looking everywhere for you. Our new hideout is much safer why are you still at this bar?"

"Kurogiri and I come here sometimes when we're free. How'd the mission go? He hasn't even texted me, so I assume he's been pretty busy."

"A-Actually he was caught by Gran Torino. I wasn't there to help him..but don't worry this is all going according to plan--"

You took two quick steps towards the slim man and your hand shot out to wrap around his throat. "What the hell do you mean it's going according to plan!? How dare you, you have no right to put Kuro in this kind of danger!!"

You pushed him away with a grunt and he rubbed his throat, coughing a bit as he did. "Kurogiri's going to the same prison as All For One...and he's going to break him out. That's the plan."

"Fuck...if anything happens to Kuro I'll tear you apart until there's nothing left do you understand me!" You screamed hoarsely. Your head had started to feel light like you were going to pass out. "I can't believe this. I can't believe that I was angry at him when he left...what if I never see him again?"

"You will. I promise you that." He replied. "Plus if you're so worried about him you could always help me out with this mission. It's a lot of work trying to get bluprints of the prison, plus we could use an undercover presence on the inside."

You paused and stared at Shigaraki. Would you risk everything and become a real villain for Kurogiri?

He would do the same for me, I know he would. He wouldn't even hesitate.

"Alright, I'm in."
