~ BTYB All-Might beating up nameless villains ~
After a short break, the top four students in the entire competition were gathered on a new, much smaller stage with just a podium built into it instead of an entire fighting stage. So, gathered together by Inko, Izuku stood on the tallest podium with Katsuki on the second-tallest and both Ibara and Fumikage sharing the lowest podium. Though oddly enough, Katsuki was in a straitjacket with a muzzle forced onto his face, just for everyone else's safety. Also so UA's public events wouldn't be banned from public television.
Once everyone had sat down in the stands, the final part of the Sports Festival could finally begin. "Welcome back, listeners!" Present Mic shouted, initiating the final event of the festival as he would usually start his talk show. "I hope you enjoyed the festival cause now it's time for the Awards Ceremony!"
"And this year, our ceremony will be-" Inko continued but found herself cut off as someone shouted while they descended from the heavens.
"I, All Might, will host the awards ceremony!"
The man among men had made his dramatic entrance while in his golden age costume, one of the few variations of his costume that fans made notice of. Though no matter how much Izuku want to 'nerd' out at that moment, he could sense his mother's inner rage.
That rage was only clarified to the viewers at home when she used her Quirk to grab All Might by the collar and whispered, "You were one second off. One. Second." She whispered as her hair seemed to cover her white sclera, making her green eyes appear almost demonic. "You had one job. And. You. Messed. Up."
"It won't happen again, I swear on my life!" He shouted low enough so the audience could hardly hear.
"I'll need a vow better than that."
"I swore on Young Midoriya's life!" He panicked, hoping that would make it better to the woman.
"That's worse!"
Meanwhile, the select few students close enough to hear the argument got some free entertainment (plus Izuku recorded it). Although there was still a ceremony to go through and Hisashi knew better to interrupt his wife when she was angry. Being the brave (and only other one who could stop them) Present Mic cleared his throat right next to his microphone, making sure the two heroes would realize they weren't in their own little world.
"Right," All Might mumbled as Inko walked out of the pit while Midnight came out with a small box. "This year, I will present these finalists with their medals!"
Opening up the box in her arms, Midnight took out the first two medals, both of them made of pure bronze. Taking the medals, All Might stood in front of the lowest podium and gave Ibara her medal first.
"Tied for third place, we have Ibara Shiozaki, a student of Class 1-B with great potential to become a hero for any situation." Announced All Might before leaning closer to whisper, "Just make sure you can watch out for your weaknesses, okay?"
Nodding, Ibara gratefully took the medal and smiled at the cameras. When she did, she seemed like a picture perfect girl that would be eaten up by photographers the moment they got the chance.
Next, All Might had turned to look at Fumikage before putting his bronze medal around his neck. "Also tied for third place, Fumikage Tokoyami, a student of Class 1-A with great potential for nearly every type of hero work," All Might announced once again, piquing the interest of a few heroes watching among the crowd. "But work on that weakness of yours when you get the chance," the muscular hero advised receiving a nod of acknowledgment from the young man.
Pulling out a silver medal, Midnight handed it to All Might carefully, already hearing the muffled shouts and curses from the silver medalist. With a sigh, All Might had to force the medal around Katsuki's neck tightly after the blonde had shaken it off time and time again.
"Placing second, Katsuki Bakugo would make a great hero! Especially for fighting villains!" All Might shouted this time, trying to calm the boy down as he continued to shake off the medal.
Finally, Midnight pulled out a gold medal, making Katsuki freeze in place as he stared at it wide-eyed. Taking the medal, All Might gave it to Izuku with no difficulty compared to the last student.
"And finishing off this ceremony-"
"Is the League of Villains!"
Turning to the source of the interruption, everyone froze as they looked at four figures. The most disturbing one being the blue-haired young adult with severed hands grabbing onto his body. To his right stood a girl with messy blond buns wearing a slightly tattered and bloody school uniform. To the man's left was a black-haired teen with purple, wrinkled skin in some places, stitched together sickeningly. But behind all of them was a muscular grey creature with a beak and an exposed brain.
"The hidden boss battle reveals itself!" Shigaraki shouted for everyone to hear, yet no one moved from their place out of pure fear.
"Get everyone to safety! Now!" All Might shouted, breaking the brief moment of silence as the heroes with some backbone actually helped evacuate the spectators while the vast majority ran as well.
Inko did the same as the braver heroes and used her Quirk to drag the four medalists through the air behind her as she ran toward one of the exits. Among these students, Katsuki was trying to break out of his straitjacket and join the fight. But more importantly, Izuku had a more appropriate reaction as his heart quickened its pace and he started to sweat profusely. Though his reaction started to become more intense as breathing became harder while his chest seems to compress and twist.
'NO! Get me away from here!' Was all he thought as his eyes focused solely on the creature of his nightmares, Nomu.
Unaware of the young man's panic, All Might stood within the stadium as his hopeful smile twisted into a malicious scowl.
"What's wrong, hero?" Shigaraki taunted as he climbed onto the Nomu to sit on its shoulders. "Cat got your tongue?"
In response, the man only received silence from the great hero. Grabbing onto the Nomu's arms, the other two villains braced themselves as the Nomu leaped from the collapsible roof of the stadium and into the same pit as All Might.
'I have two hours left, but if this guy is as strong as the last one, I'll have a little less than half an hour to fight.' The great hero strategized quickly within his mind, making sure not to count any variables such as the other heroes since he ordered all of them to work on saving the citizens and the students.
"Dabi, Toga, have fun." The leader of the small group of villains ordered as the two villains hanging onto the Nomu's arms ran off aimlessly, heading toward a random group of people each. "Nomu," He began again as he dropped off of the creature's shoulders. "Kill him!"
Immediately the gray creature obeyed its orders and disappeared from sight, only to appear in front of All Might before the man caught the creature's punch. Then, the two began punching faster than the eye could see, making the times when their fists connected an afterimage with a gust of wind in both directions.
Yet, instead of being afraid, Shigaraki was excited, even if he quite getting blown away by the shockwaves the fight created.
Outside of the stadium, emergency services hurried toward the area and civilians were kept in small groups to divert the villain's attention and hopefully buy some heroes more time if more fights broke it. But along with the emergency services came countless news choppers and reporters trying to get some insight on the commotion going on. Thankfully, some of the weaker heroes had taken the responsibility of keeping the news reporters out of harm's way while some of the stronger heroes risked their lives to search for more spectators that stayed behind.
Among the groups of civilians, Izuku continued to panic as he heard the shockwaves from the fight within the stadium. At the very least, Ibara tried to calm him down while Fumikage looked for some who could've helped.
Though the first to come to his aid was none other than a paramedic, after that man was Momo. After all, the paramedic was much more important.
Waiting a few moments, the paramedic had a small report for Izuku's friends and girlfriend. "He's suffering from a panic attack and he should be fine as long as his trigger doesn't show up again."
"Is there anything we can do?" Momo asked, not even trying to hide her worry.
"Keep him calm, but if anything happens, call me over immediately." The paramedic told her before heading to help the nearest injured person.
Once the paramedic had left, Ibara stood back and motioned for Momo to be by Izuku's side for the time being. Though the only way she could calm him down was to clasp one of his hands within hers, it only made her cry as she looked at his metal arm, finally realizing what was the source of his panic attack.
'The Nomu. Why? Why did it have to come back?' She asked herself, tears rolling down her cheeks as she clasped Izuku's hand tighter.
Back to the fight between All Might and Nomu, it seemed to be swaying toward All Might's side as the Nomu's stamina and endurance were slowly being chipped away. All according to All Might's plan, but when two streams of flames collided, his plans were quickly ruined.
"I'll defeat you!" The arrogant voice of Endeavor bellowed through the stadium as streams of flames filled the stands, half blue while the other half was red.
On the opposite side of the stadium, ice formations appeared from nothing as the crazed laugh of Toga rang out sickeningly. Though the father and son didn't acknowledge each other, the former was pissed and the latter was waiting for the moment All Might or more likely Izuku would come and defeat the Nomu.
'Midoriya, you've beat this thing once. Hurry and do it again before my father gets broken.'
At the same time, Izuku's magnified emotions focused on keeping Izuku's mentally stable, well, mostly Serena, but even with her abilities, Izuku's panic attack was barely slowing down. Though the risky options that were put up in his mind were few in quantity and most of them were too dangerous to consider, especially since the main priority was calming Izuku.
"Serena, hurry it up! I want to beat that brainless monster to a pulp!" Rath shouted at the calm woman.
"It clearly has a brain and if you keep yelling, Izuku's own brain may be worse than the Nomu's brain." She retorted, keeping her eyes closed as her body glowed slightly and fluctuated wildly at times.
"Both of you, just be quiet." Ordered Justice as he kept making plans of his own. "If it comes down to it, I'll try to maintain control and you can calm him down in here."
Both of the emotions nodded, but it hardly calmed them down as Izuku's eyes remained closed, his own mind flickering between the hazy memories of the USJ incident. From the time he entered the building filled with excitement to the moment when his arm was pulled out of its socket with only fear filling his mind.
Then, his mind drifted toward the fights he had fought with Momo. Numerous villains and very little chance to survive by themselves. Though, together, the couple was nearly unstoppable. But this only gave the emotions within him a new plan.
"Izuku, open your eyes," Justice said, trying to be as soothing as possible while he gave Rath the sign to be quiet.
"Everything will be alright. We will never let that creature harm you." Added Serena, using her sympathetical side to try to calm him more.
Listening to their words, Izuku slowly opened his eyes, the light from the afternoon sun was glaring to his eyes. Blinking quite a few times, he saw himself looking down at his body, his metal arm remained as a grim reminder of the biggest tragedy of his life. But on the other side of his body, Momo continued to clench his hand, holding on to it for dear life.
'Momo...' He thought as his eyes seemed to stop shaking, slowing his heart rate back to its normal rate. "I'm... okay," he said shakily as the black-haired girl looked at his face with puffy eyes.
"Izuku!" She cried, hugging him tightly as he coughed and felt his left hand freed from her grasp. "You're okay!" She cried once more as her eyes started to dry up from the number of tears she was shedding.
"Yeah... for now," he responded, bringing up his left arm shakily. It still continued to shake uncontrollably, even if most of the panic attack had ceased, or at least seemed to.
"Don't talk like that," she mumbled, still crying her heart out. "Don't even think of fighting! All Might can handle it!"
"No, he can't," Izuku tried to shout back, but Momo was hugging him too tightly for him to actually shout.
Joining in the couple's conversation, Fumikage continued to remain away from the couple for his own personal safety. "Midoriya is right." He started, drawing Momo's attention away from Izuku. "All Might could barely match up to the bioweapon last time. Even with a weaker opponent, the heroes are unsure of his fate."
"That doesn't matter!" Momo exclaimed back at him, hardly noticing his less cryptic dialect this time. "Izuku lost too much last time!" She cried as she hugged Izuku protectively.
"It is only a matter of time. Midoriya's fate seems to be laced with trials and testimony." The bronze medalist said as Izuku remained silent but had started to mumble with his eyes closed.
Listening to his mumblings, Momo and Fumikage heard several voices speaking through Midoriya, all conversing among each other. The voices were talking about strategies and the countless risks involved if they continued with their desired course of action. But both of the onlookers quickly caught onto what Izuku had planned to do next.
"Don't you dare! If you go out there, there's no telling if you'll make it out in one piece." She shouted at him while Izuku's mumbling died down before all he did was stare at the building where three battles were being held.
"If I don't go out there, more people will get hurt. And if I do, then no one else but me will get hurt." He said, getting up slowly. "So if I'm going to be a hero, then I need to grow a pair and end this battle!"
Escaping Momo's grasp, Izuku ran away and toward the stadium, only to trip due to his shaky legs. Getting up once more, Momo grabbed him by his left arm before he would've started to run again.
"You aren't going without me," Momo said, her eyes still puffy but her previously frightened look was now replaced with one full of determination. "Now, what are you going to do?"
"Probably something stupid," Izuku replied almost immediately.
"You did that last time," she replied jokingly.
"Then something crazy."
"That's more like it." She said before letting go of his arm. "Now, let's go!"
"Right." He quickly replied before running off into the stadium, leaving confused spectators and concerned friends behind. But none of that mattered when he had Momo at his side.
Still running through the halls of the stadium, the couple kept hearing the shockwaves from fists colliding and the sounds of flames being sent toward someone else. Nearing the fire-fight, Izuku took out his phone, causing Pina's two-dimensional body to blink to life on the screen.
"Izuku, you're nearing Endeavor's location while Shoto is across the stadium from him." She reported quickly, showing Izuku a close-up map through satellite images and news broadcasts.
Quickly glancing at the screen, Izuku saw the image of All Might scowling, something he hadn't seen since the USJ incident. Well, he watched the footage his mask recorded. "Just set my arm sensitivity to zero and all of the remaining disk timers to three seconds." He ordered as he lost feeling in his right arm and saw the light of his gadgets in his peripheral vision. "Momo, I can handle the hotheads, just help out Todoroki any way possible."
"Right," she replied as the two split up, Izuku started climbing a flight of stairs while Momo ran toward Shoto's location.
The actual fights, however, were serious and quite even despite some obvious differences. All Might was keeping up with Nomu and landing every punch he could get before he coughed up blood when the Nomu hit him near the stomach. Something that Shigaraki noted for later as well as the steam starting to come off of the hero's body.
Then there was Shoto who was fighting a blonde villain named Toga, quite a tricky fighter she was, especially with all the knives she had kept on her person. Every attack he tried was either dodged or he got distracted from one of the knives she had thrown at him, breaking his concentration.
Finally, there was the most even fight between Endeavor and Dabi, both combatants with an emitter Quirk allowing them to use fire. Little did they know another fire-filled fighter would be joining them soon.
Yet, the two combatants hardly paid any attention to the other fights commencing as both men brought their palm up and created a stream of flames aimed at each other. Both streams collided, releasing more heat into the area as a pair of footsteps quickened their pace.
Suddenly, Izuku ran into the middle of the flames, unconcerned as he started to absorb the flames directly. "What!?" Endeavor exclaimed as he cut off his stream of flames and jumped through the stands, trying to get another shot on his opponent.
Still absorbing Dabi's attack, Izuku closed his eyes and felt himself letting go of control while someone else took control. Once he opened his eyes, the freckled wonder now had shining silver eyes, filled with hope. "Endeavor, let me finish this." He said in a courageous voice, which was noticeably similar to All Might's voice.
"I'm not letting some kid fight my battles!" The man shouted at the student, though his shouts were useless.
"I'm not going to fight your battles." The boy began as he walked through the stream of flames Dabi was engulfing him in. "I'm going to end them."
Stopping the stream of flames, Dabi finally got a good look at his new opponent. "Big talk for a kid!" He shouted tauntingly.
Ignoring this taunt, Izuku ran up to him and punched him right in the jaw. And he was using his metal arm. Just from the impact, Dabi was knocked into some of the lower stands, hearing the crack of some of his bones as he fell.
Keeping his eyes on Dabi, Izuku knew his trump card would still be a surprise, though not his ability to fly, that was given away already. So, he decided to use it now after he got rid of his current footwear.
Flying straight toward Dabi, Izuku grabbed him by the neck using his metal hand before flying close to the seats, making sure to push Dabi into them constantly, breaking the seats and his back. But once there were no more seats to break Dabi's back with, Izuku flew higher into the sky before he threw Dabi toward the pit at the center of the building.
That battle had finished just like he expected, but he could also see Momo's battle was much less gruesome. Her battle had ended when she caught Toga off-guard using a metal staff, allowing Shoto to capture her in a block of ice.
Smiling at the short battle, Izuku focused on his next battle. 'I'm already shaking.' He thought as he looked at the dull gray Nomu that was mindlessly fighting All Might. 'Serena, are you calming down Izuku?'
"Yes, but he is starting to panic once more. I don't believe you'll have the same ease using his body as you did last time."
'No one said it was going to be easy.' He told her, knowing that he was going to have to risk Izuku's life once more to end this battle. 'I'm going to have to pull all the stops before fear consumes us.'
"Yeah! We're gonna have another roommate," Rath mumbled disdainfully.
Without acknowledging his comment, Izuku flew toward the fight, watching closely as All Might's body had three streams of steam coming off of it. Then, his mind switched to something else, the leader.
Flying as quietly as he could, he found his way behind Shigaraki before putting him in a headlock while his legs wrapped around the older male's waist. "Call off your minion." He ordered as the villain's mouth broke out into a wicked smile.
"How about no?" He asked wickedly as he reached to grabbed one of the arms heading onto his neck. "You're dead!" He shouted about to grab Izuku's arm, but his hand went through like there was nothing there. "What!"
Smirking, Izuku tightened the headlock, his arms completely solid, but Shigaraki's hands kept going through the freckled boy's body like he was made of air. "Keep trying. I'm not letting go until you call off your goon."
"Never!" The blue-haired villain choked out, still trying to grab Izuku, but to no avail. His hands kept going through the boy's body.
His smirk fading away, Izuku kept choking the villain, keeping his eyes on Nomu the entire time. 'How much time do I have?' Izuku asked, quite concerned as Shigaraki was about to lose consciousness.
"At this rate, a little less than five minutes. But if we divert our focus on calming Izuku, we'd be able to extend that time to 10 minutes."
"Don't wait, you Fucker! If we waste our time calming the kid now, All Might's gonna be in the hospital for a month!"
'He has a point,' Izuku thought as he felt the villain go limp in his arms, so he dropped the man. 'Looks like I'm going to have to do this my way.'
"Be careful then. If you start using all the heat we stored up, then I can't divert energy to healing us."
'Don't worry, I'll keep the injuries to a minimum.'
"That doesn't make it any better."
'Never said, I would make it better. Just quit worrying.'
Ignoring the shouts of the Serene emotion, Izuku flew straight toward the fight between All Might and Nomu. Nearing the fight, he flew through the Nomu as quickly as he could and patted himself down quickly to make sure his clothes stayed on his body. Knowing he was still clothed, he continued flying and grabbed All Might, bringing him out of the fight and into the halls of the stadium.
As the two kept flying, All Might started to feel his Quirk weaken as he started to relax his muscles. 'Oh, no. Why now?' On cue, All Might was engulfed in a puff of smoke and Izuku felt the man he was gripping onto drop in weight immensely.
When the puff of smoke was flown through, Izuku and All Might had flown well into the hallways as All Might's true form was revealed. Within Izuku's grasp was a skinny man with barely any muscle on his bones, though it looked like All Might had just aged immensely in a matter of seconds.
"Now that creature won't know it's you," Izuku commented calmly, not caring for the surprise. "But, please, explain this to me later, sensei."
"Of course, Young Midoriya." The man stuttered out as Izuku placed him on his feet before flying back toward the Nomu, seeing it standing and looking at the hallway, wondering where All Might was.
But the only thing that entered its vision was Izuku with his fists clenched, each holding something. "Pina, what can you tell me?"
"This is a different Nomu for sure, but it is slower and weaker than last time. All Might is able to stand up against it at the same strength and speed, so defeating it should be less strenuous than the last time."
"Interesting," Izuku mumbled as a voice in his head fed him with dozens of attacks to use against the creature. Keeping those ideas in mind, he flew through the Nomu once more, yet it had didn't even react as it kept looking into the hallway.
Looking around, Izuku glanced over everything in the stadium, seeing it was left in ruins from the three fights that took place. Though there was no one else in the area except for him, All Might, and the Nomu. All of the heroes and students were gone, but even the villains had disappeared from sight.
Putting it off to the side, Izuku looked behind him and watched as the Nomu walked aimlessly into the hallways, not using its speed for some odd reason. Following the creature, Izuku wanted to know what was inside of its head, but he would never find out as it continued to roam the halls.
After a few minutes, it had led him through the halls and nothing else. So, he decided to fly up to it's back and held his metal hand over its brain before heating that hand up, eventually causing the Nomu to stop from heatstroke.
'Good to know it isn't immune to heat.' The freckled boy thought before he felt himself lose control. Suddenly, his eyes changed from silver to light lavender, bringing a wave of terror through Izuku's mind as Justice was taken out of control. "Huh... The Nomu? Get away! Get it away from me!"
And with that, Izuku started to run away from the creature as Serena could finally devote all of their powers toward calming the real Izuku down.
Unconcerned with the boy's plight, every news network with a station near UA had broadcasted the emergency, giving everyone a few questions. What happened to All Might? Who was this student defeating the villains? Where did the villains disappear to?
Leaving the questions unanswered, all of the heroes who had gotten to the event helped as many citizens that they could with the emergency service workers alongside them. But as for Izuku, Momo had found him passed out in the hallway and brought him to Recovery Girl immediately, though he was unharmed from what the elderly hero could see. Yet another question that would remain unanswered.
