Shindo was requested and let me just say...hot damn is he a cool character!! And underappreciated!! He also reminds me of Midoriya for some reason? Idk that's probably just me. The reader will be a first year at U.A. High and their quirk will be the power to make destructive soundwaves. Enjoy!

You had been through some things to say the least. Against what seemed like impossible odds you had made it into U.A. High, you had survived two League of Villain attacks, and you had witnessed what All Might's true form looked like. Now you were alive and ready to get your provisional hero license.

But as you looked around at all of the intimidating students from Ketsubutsu Academy, you felt more nervous than ever. Was your quirk strong enough? Could you be able to stand out and get your license??

Ms. Joke's laughter pulled you away from your swirling thoughts, and your attention was back on her.

"Hi class 1-A! Nice to finally meet you all in person. You all look really strong, must be thanks to Aizawa HAHAHA!!" she cackled, and you resisted the urge to smile and laugh along with her. It was definitely infectious. Aizawa just looked like he was trying to ignore her comments, and he motioned for you all to follow him to the exam waiting room.

As you were walking you felt a light tap on your shoulder. You turned and saw a messy-haired guy smiling at you sweetly.

"Hey, be careful out there. I wouldn't want a pretty face like yours to get hurt." he said, and you could feel warmth spread throughout your face.

"I think I can handle myself just fine thanks." you replied surprising yourself at how cold you were being, despite being very flustered by his compliment.

"I'm sure you can." he replied in a low voice, his sweet smile suddenly turning into a cunning smirk. You huffed and walked away, joining the rest of your class. You just hoped that he wouldn't be a problem during the exam.

...

"Alright the rules of the first exam are simple. You are going to attach three targets on your bodies and make sure they are all visible. Then you will be given six balls that you will hit each other's target with, and once all of your targets have been hit you will be disqualified. Good luck." said the exam proctor and you fidgeted nervously in your place. Other students looked just as nervous as you felt, which made you feel a little better. 

The exam proctor looked bored out of his mind and he left you all as quickly as he came.

Only three chances huh? Well then, I'll try my best!

"Students please enter the exam area now!" an automated voice yelled out from an intercom speaker right above you. You shook out your hands and followed everyone else out the huge double doors.

The bright sun assaulted your eyes and you squinted as you tried to adjust. Once your eyes had adjusted you observed your surroundings and realized you were in a huge stadium!

"Wow is this the Takoba Stadium!?" you asked aloud and Uraraka gasped along with you.

"This is crazy y/n! Look at all of this terrain...it's crazy!" Uraraka said, and you immediately felt even more nervous. Midoriya walked up to you two his eyebrows furrowed and his face more serious than ever.

"We should all work together...everyone will be after U.A. so it would be better to utilize our quirks together." Midoriya said, and you nodded your head. Uraraka agreed too but as soon as Midoriya voiced his plan Todoroki, Bakugou, and Kirishima all walked away probably thinking they could be independent.

Guess they want to be lone wolves huh? Good luck guys...

"Alright Midoriya. Let's work together. Let's get our licenses today!" you shouted loud and proud, trying to calm you chattering nerves. Uraraka nodded excitedly and Tokoyami gave you a thumbs up.

The balls for the exam were distributed to each student, and the exam started almost immediately. The battle was on!

You and the other students from 1-A who had joined Midoriya were being fiercely attacked by several students from other schools.

"Damn it! There's too many of them!" you shouted, outstretching your hands and releasing a huge soundwave right at the group of students who were attacking 1-A. They were all blown back by your major attack, giving you some time to recover your thoughts.

But before you could you heard Midoriya yell out, "Everyone watch out--"

The ground suddenly shattered and crumbled beneath your feet as a huge earthquake rippled through your area of the arena. You cursed and aimed a small soundwave at the ground, propelling yourself upwards slightly. 

Who the hell did this!? This is insane...totally insane!!

"Hey it's you! It's too bad you go to U.A, or else we would have made a great team." a teasing voice called out to you and you immediately scowled when you saw who it was.

The guy with the black hair was waving condescendingly at you, and he wasn't alone. He had obviously decided to attack 1-A with his own class too. How cunning of him! 

 You landed with a thud on the uneven ground. "I'm Shindo by the way! Shindo Yo...what's your name--"

"Stop messing around!!" you yelled, throwing four of your balls up in the air and propelling them forward with another soundwave. Shindo and his classmates cupped their ears in pain from the sound, and you managed to hit one person who was immediately disqualified, and you hit another person three times disqualifying them as well.

Shindo frowned at you and you rushed towards him, your battle confidence growing. You didn't know where your other classmates were, but you could handle yourself.

I don't know what his quirk actually is...so I'll keep my distance for now!

"Jeez, all I wanted to know was your name." Shindo said, squatting down and preparing for your attack.

"It's y/n! You better remember it Shindo!!" you said, releasing a huge soundwave right at Shindo. He covered his ears quickly but he was still blown back by the sheer force of the soundwave. You could feel your body becoming more exhausted the more you used your quirk so you decided not to engage with him anymore.

I'll see you after I've passed the exam, earthquake boy!

You narrowly passed the first exam, much like Iida and Aoyama but the second exam was more your style.

You disintegrated rubble with your quirk, and easily rescued many civilians. Unfortunately you weren't involved with defeating Gang Orca, but honestly after surviving so many other villain attacks you weren't exactly disappointed. In fact you were incredibly relieved.

But you had heard Shindo was involved in taking down Gang Orca, and you definitely impressed.

As you held your provisional license in your hand, you couldn't help but think about how much more work you had to do. You had to be able to stand as an equal with someone like Shindo. You had to...

"Hey y/n. Thanks for the ear wound by the way."

You gasped in surprise and looked up to see Shindo walking towards you with a smile on his face. His left ear was bandaged and you felt a pang of guilt.

"I-I-I'm so sorry I got carried away I--"

"It's fine y/n. I created that earthquake that could've injured you...so I guess we're even right?" he said, his dark eyes shining in the sunlight.

"I'm still really sorry though. I was just really pumped up and excited to finally take the exam."

He smirked at you and reached into his pocket, pulling out a small white card. "I was excited to see I passed. I saw your name on the list, good job."

You smiled and held up your provisional license for him to see. "This picture isn't that great though. They kind of caught me mid-blink..."

"I think you look great y/n. I look forward to seeing what kind of hero you'll be." he replied, putting away his card. He began to walk in the opposite direction, and you called out to him.

"Gimme your number, so that way you won't be surprised when I make my debut!"

"Pfft, sounds like a good deal to me."

 You definitely looked forward to seeing what kind of hero Shindo would end up being too. You had a feeling that he would be amazing.

This was just the first step after all.
