Ryuko Tatsuma x Reader: Good Catch
Dragon hero Ryukyu is so awesome I'm in love! Plus she's in the top ten hero ranking which is just so cool...aaah I'm just fangirling now! This is another request piece and it is for a male reader so bear with me, because I usually write gender neutral or female reader. But either way, enjoy some fluff!
Moving to the city was a recent change in your life, and your family couldn't be more worried for your safety. Hero battles, more crime, and even higher insurance rates! It was truly mind boggling for your small town family. But you were determined to live comfortably in the city and your resolve was rock solid.
So why were you now in a hostage situation on the roof of a nine story building...and you were the hostage!
The villains had entered the office building where you worked and they strangely asked for one "volunteer" hostage, and then everyone else could leave.
Why did I raise my hand? Do I think I'm some kind of hero? What the hell is up with that, I can only levitate five inches off the ground! That's not gonna help me if they push me off the roof!
These thoughts raced through your head, and you groaned in frustration at the situation you were in right now. "Alright, there are a lot of heroes gathered down there...I think it's time." one of the villains said, stretching their arms like they were preparing for a fight.
"Not so fast villains!" a voice shouted. Your eyes widened and your body flooded with relief. Pro hero Fatgum had made it to the roof...you were going to be saved!
"Shit...guess we don't have any use for you now." the villain said, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.
"W-What?" you asked, but before you could react you were grabbed by the collar and thrown off the roof of the building. You could hear Fatgum shout something but you soon found yourself screaming in shock at your sudden freefall. You were going to hit the ground soon...this was it.
But you never did hit the ground. Instead you found yourself being grabbed by a large scaly clawed hand almost like you were in the grip of a...
"D-Dragon!? You're a dragon!! You're Ryukyu! What a good catch!!" you shouted at the hero who had just rescued you from certain death. The dragon hero Ryukyu gracefully landed on the concrete below, still clutching you firmly in her hand.
"Time to rush the building!" another hero shouted, and most of the people surrounding the place entered in order to help Fatgum. The dragon hero released her grip on you and you dropped to your knees, still in shock about the whole ordeal.
Suddenly, Ryukyu's dragon form disappeared and she transformed back into a regular human. "Sir, it's going to be alright. You're going to be fine...sir?"
"I-I just can't believe...maybe I shouldn't live in this place...I m-made the wrong choice..." you stammered, as you uncontrollably ran your hands through your hair. Ryukyu clicked her tongue before she sat down next to you.
She sighed. "I don't exactly know your situation, or what choice you're talking about...but I'm glad you're living in this city. You seem like a really nice person, and there aren't that many genuinely nice people around here...so it's really great that you're here. You're here and you're alive...and that's great." she said, her small but kind smile exposing her sharp teeth. She seemed so sure of everything that you couldn't help but feel instantly calmed by her presence.
"T-Thank you Ryukyu...I think that's exactly what I needed to hear." You said, making her smile widen immediately.
"Please just call me Tatsuma. What's your name?"
"It's y/n." you said, but before you could say anything else, a police officer came up and asked for Tatsuma's help with dealing with the media and their questions.
"Ok, I'll be right there." She said, getting up from her spot on the ground. "I'm glad you're alright. If you still want to talk, feel free to call my agency. Just ask for me...I'll be there." She told you before walking away.
Another police officer guided you away from the scene so you could be checked up on and afterwards you just went home like it was any other day.
Five days later
You were convinced that Tatsuma would be busy with work so she probably wouldn't be by the phone. This was your lame excuse for not calling her, even though you really wanted to. Self-doubt was creeping in and you assumed that Tatsuma probably had a lot of people that called her and want to see her, so why would she be interested in an average guy like you?
Despite these thoughts though, you just couldn't get her out of your head, no matter how hard you tried. She was so kind and amazing, it was no wonder you had developed a slight crush on her.
You unlocked your phone and stared at it for a bit.
I'm just gonna do it, maybe I'm crushing on her because she saved me, you thought as you dialed the number to her agency. It rang a few times before a woman picked it up.
"Dragon Hero's Hero agency, this is Raika speaking."
"Hi, I'm y/n, I was just calling for Tatsuma. She said to just ask for her when I call."
"Ok I'll patch you through." she replied and you heard a beep on the line before Tatsuma answered the phone.
"Hi y/n...I was starting to think you wouldn't call me at all. How are you doing?" she asked you. You chuckled nervously. Just hearing her voice was making your head swim.
"I'm really sorry about that, I-I've just been...well honestly I was kind of nervous...no that's not exactly right...I was really nervous about calling you." you said, stumbling over your words terribly. "I a-also feel really bad because I never really thanked you for saving me. I'm sorry about that."
Tatsuma was silent for a moment, as if she was thinking hard about what her next words would be. "Well we could go on a date...that might make it up to me."
You felt a blush creep up to your face. "I-I...uh sure! Do you wanna go out for dinner, I know this really nice Italian place...do you like Italian?"
"Yeah of course, i-if it's with you...then it's even better." she replied softly, making you blush even harder.
"A-Alright it's a date then!"
