Monoma Neito x Reader: Impressive

Nice request for Monoma and a reader who has the complete opposite personality. So basically the reader is not crazy lol. Enjoy!

You could hear your boyfriend yelling in the cafeteria when you walked towards the large double doors. He was probably harassing class 1-A again, like usual.

Even though there was really no difference between your two classes because you were both in the hero course, you all took the practical exam and passed, and you all got the same opportunities at U.A. Monoma had taken it upon himself to fuel a rivalry.

You breathed out. "Here we go." You walked into the cafeteria and saw Monoma yelling at some boys who were in 1-A, and you were worried that his wine glass filled with grape juice was going to spill with how much he was moving around while he mocked the boys.

You strode over to him, put your hand on his shoulder, and said two words to the crazy blonde. "Let's go."

He stopped laughing immediately and said, "Sure," in a completely normal voice. You could almost laugh at how quickly his mood changed when you were near him. Monoma motioned for you to follow him to a table and you quickly apologized to the 1-A boys.

"Sorry about my boyfriend. He just wants to fuel this class rivalry." You said, bowing your head a little bit. "Sorry."

"I-It's fine." A red-haired boy, you believe his name was Kirishima, said. He gave you a bright smile and you smiled back before walking to Monoma's table. You were relieved that this matter was resolved since you hated conflict. That was why you were in the hero course. To end as much conflict as possible.

On the other hand, your boyfriend loved conflict. The drama of a good rivalry or fight. He thrived on it.

You thought that your opposite personalities went well with each other, even if your relationship seemed strange to someone who might observe the two of you interacting. It just worked and you were not going to question something that was good.

When you sat down Monoma smiled at you and you laughed at him. "What are you grinning about? Are you happy that you got to yell at some 1-A guys?"

"Mm, yeah that's part of it. I also thought you looked so beautiful walking towards me, I'm the luckiest guy in the world that's for sure! Those 1-A bastards have nothing on you or me!"

Ah, there's the Monoma I know.

"Hey y/n, can you come to my house after school? I want to cook for you."

You chuckled at him and took a sip of your juice. "Don't be silly, you don't cook." You replied, smiling at him. He huffed like he was offended by your comment but he didn't let it cluster him.

"I cook a lot! C'mon, I want to impress you y/n. It'll be fine." His pale blue eyes gleamed with sincerity and you sighed. You could never say no to him when he gave you that puppy dog look. It was so unfair!

"Alright, you'll cook dinner then and it'll be great I'm sure." You said and gave his hand a quick squeeze. "What were you thinking of making?"

He smiled. "It's a surprise."

...

Oh my god, I have no idea what I'm going to do! Why did I have to make y/n think I'm good at cooking? I only know how to bake!

Monoma's thoughts ran wild with nervous fear as he went through the rest of the school day. He was usually a very confident person but when it came to you he got butterflies in his stomach. So, yes he wanted to impress you with his cooking and he might have overexaggerated his skills in the kitchen just to make you feel proud of him.

Now he had a few hours to learn how to make a dish that looked and tasted great.

Maybe pasta, pasta's easy right? The only thing I'll have to work at is the sauce. Yeah, I'm a genius I'll be able to make that!

"Monoma are you listening to me?"

"Huh?" He looked up from his desk and you were standing over him, a smile on your pretty lips. "Sorry I was zoned out." He wished he could kiss you now, but school was not the best place for that. Not that he was shy or anything! He just didn't want to show that side of him to his classmates.

"Well, I was just saying that I have to drop off my textbooks at my house. I'll meet up with you at your house later. Instead of me going over there right after school."

Great. This gave him more time to prepare the meal!

"That sounds great! Can't wait!"

You laughed and walked away to go back to your desk. There was one more class to get through before the school day ended.

It was the final countdown.

Once the class lecture was over, Monoma shot out of his seat and practically ran out the door. There was no time to waste.

He ran towards his blue bike that was chained up on the bike racks near the front of the school. Thank god that he had trained on his stamina because he had to pedal as hard as he could all the way home.

Once he got home he leaned his bike against the house and ran inside. "Do we have pasta!? I need pasta!" He yelled when he got inside.

Oh, wait mom and dad are still at work.

"Damn it all!" With newfound aggression, Monoma stomped into the kitchen and opened all of the cabinets one by one so his eyes could take in everything. He found the dried pasta and chose the spaghetti, the only one that he thought looked easy to cook because the shape was simple.

"I hope we have canned tomatoes...or else I'm screwed." He said to himself. Luckily there were a few cans of tomatoes in the cupboard and he almost jumped with glee.

This was going to be fine, what could go wrong?

...

Not being at Monoma's house already made you feel bad so you rushed over to your house and left as quick as you could. You had to take a short bus ride to get to his house but thankfully it did not take that long. Your houses were not too far apart.

When you walked up the front steps of his home you noticed that his prized bike had fallen from where it was just leaning on the wall. You lifted it up and made sure it stood securely. Just as you were going to open the door you heard a loud banging sound. Like something heavy had crashed down.

With a bit of hesitation you opened the door and called out your boyfriend's name. "Monoma? Are you alright?"

You heard a muffled exasperated sigh before Monoma replied. "Yeah, I'm great! I'm in the kitchen. B-But you might not want to come in here it's very messy!"

You walked towards the kitchen. "I'll help if you want...me...to..." Your voice drifted off as your eyes took in the state that the poor kitchen was in. Sauce splatters littered the floor and counter like someone had just been murdered, the pasta was in the water that was spilling over the pot, and there were about thirty dishes in the sink.

The sauce itself was at least cooking on the stove and the smell was actually decent smelling. But this looked like a disaster.

"Hey sweetie, you look great," Monoma said, leaning on the counter. He was trying to keep his cool you could tell that much.

"What the hell happened? It looks like a war zone in here, how did you even get that many dishes dirty? I like you so much but this...I'm gonna make fun of you for this forever."

"I will accept that," He said with a cheeky grin, "but I don't need your help because this is your dinner and I promised to make it for you. The hard part's over too, I finished the sauce and everything."

You smiled widely at him and put your hands up in like you were surrendering. "Alright, I won't lift a finger. It smells really good though."

"Maybe I should've been a chef." He pondered.

"No." Was your short reply but you said it a bit jokingly. He ran a hand through his hair and laughed a little bit before turning around to check on the pasta. You watched him with a smile on your lips. He seemed so serious about this, all of this struggle just to make you happy. It made your heart swell with joy.

"I think it's ready!" Monoma exclaimed, rushing past you to get the plates. With lightning speed, he mixed the sauce with the pasta, sprinkled some cheese on top, and brought it to the table. "One plate for my sweetie and one plate for my other sweetie...myself."

"Nice." You replied. The food did not look that great but it smelled amazing. You twirled some pasta on your fork and ate it. "Mmph!" Was your muffled response.

Monoma watched you with a smile on his lips while you savored the wonderful flavors of the food. "Thank god it's good, I was a little worried."

"It's not just good it's great!" You exclaimed and Monoma's smile grew wider until he was practically beaming at you. He moved closer to you and pressed his lips against yours. You tensed because you thought he wouldn't like your pasta breath, but that didn't seem to stop him from cupping your face in his hands and kissing you like it was the last time.

He pulled away for air and chuckled, the warm air from his breath tickled your face. "I love you y/n." He whispered, kissing sides of your mouth gently. You smiled and placed your hands on his shoulders.

"I love you too." You replied, looking into his light blue eyes. "And I love this food too, you have a real talent for making ugly food that tastes great."

"That's all I've ever wanted to hear." He said, pretending to sniff like he was crying. "Let's eat, I don't want any leftovers."

"No problem."
