Inasa Yoarashi x Reader: Debut

Inasa was requested and since he has just returned in the manga I thought this was awesome timing! I aged Inasa and the reader up to about 20 ish. Also, the wiki said that his hero name is "Gale" and I have personally never heard anyone use that word for wind but ok lol. For this oneshot, the reader will have the ability to...see in the dark (wow!!). Enjoy!

Yawning you changed the channel again, hoping that with enough patience and willpower, you would be able to find something interesting to watch. You ended up staying on the news channel and watched the news anchors trying to keep their footing while they tried to film from the outside.

The wind was whipping around them and they struggled to hold on to their microphones. "A-As you can see...Gale's debut is very intense!" a female anchor struggled to say as her hair blew around wildly. You whistled at the sheer intensity of the wind, wondering what kind of person could wield such a powerful quirk.

But as you looked closer, you realized that Gale and the news anchors were actually pretty close to where you lived.

Cool! Maybe I can see them from here, you thought as you practically ran to the living room window and forced it open. Ever since you were little you always loved watching heroes battle it out with villains, and now you had a front row seat from your apartment!

As soon as you opened the window a huge gust of wind blew past you, nearly knocking you over. You glanced at the t.v behind you and noticed that the screen was becoming fuzzy.

"Oh no...wait!"

Almost immediately the electricity went out in your apartment, accompanied by a huge gust of wind, and you were left in the dark.

...

Four hours later

"Yes, I know that I can see in the dark...but the entire building has been out for like four hours and you called and told me that this would be resolved in half an hour. I have food in the fridge...ok...yes I'll hold," you said exasperated, leaning against your kitchen counter. Your phone was nearly dead and you began to get very nervous. So, you just hung up.

"Great...I'm bored now!" you yelled out throwing your hands up in the air in frustration. If you used your quirk too much you got headaches, so this darkness was becoming extremely annoying. You paced back and forth for a while before finally settling down on your couch with a book.

Only a few minutes passed before you heard a loud knock at the door and you jumped in your place. "W-Who is it?"

"My name is Inasa Yoarashi, the wind hero Gale! I would like to--"

Before he could even finish his sentence you unlocked and yanked the door open, your anger already simmering at a steady pace.

"Gale! What a coincidence huh? You fight a villain and then suddenly the lights go out. If you were a little bit more careful then...then...uuh." your voice trailed off as your eyes looked over the wind hero and took in what he looked like.

He was tall and athletic-looking, with kind dark eyes. His black hair was kept in a simple buzz cut, which you found very practical and appealing.

All in all, he was surprisingly handsome and you were definitely caught off guard by him. "U-Uh, uhm...you...I have food in the fridge!!" you spluttered out, your face growing warm. You were glad that he wasn't the one with night vision or else he would see how embarrassed you looked right now.

"Oh! Um, that's good. I have food in my fridge too..." he responded, obviously confused by your sudden and irrelevant outburst.

"No no no. I meant that I have food in the fridge and no electricity! Like what the heck happened...did you knock over a power line or something?"

Inasa nodded his head so fast that you thought it would fly off. "That's why I came here to personally apologize for my mistake! Please accept my utmost forgiveness!" he said, immediately bowing down on the floor and slamming his head down.

You gasped in surprise at his dramatic show of apology and you took a few steps back into your apartment. "Y-Yeah sure...apology accepted Gale--"

"Please! You can call me Inasa!"

"I-Inasa, thank you for apologizing. Most heroes, especially ones who just made their debut, wouldn't do something like that. It's really nice...please get up though." you said, your face getting even warmer. "It's kind of embarrassing."

"Sure thing!" Inasa said, as he immediately shot back up with a huge joyful smile on his face. "I can pay you back too! For your food."

"Oh jeez, no that's not necessary Inasa. I'm sorry I said it was all your fault earlier--"

"But it is!"

"Yeah, but you were fighting villains and stuff...so I think it's fine," you said, waving your hand dismissively at him.

That was when you were suddenly struck with what seemed like a great idea. "Hey Inasa, since a lot of my food might end up going bad...did you want some?"

Inasa shrugged his shoulders and thanks to your night vision, you could clearly see that he was slightly embarrassed by your offer. But eventually, he grinned and nodded his head. "Thank you for your hospitality!"

"No problem, Inasa. My name's y/n by the way," you said, motioning for him to follow you into your modest home.

"Nice to meet you y/n!" he said loudly, still grinning widely as he looked around at your living room. "Wow, are you an interior decorator or something? This place is frickin' nice!"

"Um, no. I actually work at a costume design company. I get to test out different things and see how they look at night, and whether or not they camouflage well...and of course look cool at the same time."

"Oh, cool is that your quirk? Night vision?"

"Yep! And make yourself comfortable. Without electricity the only thing to do here is to sit on the couch." you said, peering into the fridge and pulling out some deli food and cheese. "Do you like sandwiches Inasa?"

"Yeah I love 'em," he said, walking over to your couch and plopping down quickly while you made the sandwiches. You figured he was exhausted from his debut fight, but he was sweating an awful lot and he looked pale.

"Inasa? Are you hurt?" you asked him quietly, walking over to him with the sandwiches.

He grinned lopsidedly at you and shrugged. "Guess I was a little too hot-headed in my fight y/n. It's not that bad though, it just hurts like hell," he said, stretching his arm that didn't have a glove on for you to inspect. A straight gash ran from his elbow to his shoulder. You would've noticed earlier had it not been for his cape.

"Oh, Inasa...I'll clean it up for you right now! And I'll get you some water," you said, walking away to get your first-aid kit from the bathroom.

He ate the food happily while you cleaned and patched him up, and you two made small talk. He told you how he actually failed his provisional license exam the first time, which surprised you and you told him that horror movies never scared you.

"Pfft, man that's awesome! I mean...it's not like they scare me or anything, I guess it would just be nice to not be scared of the dark."

"Hmm, but you're not scared of the dark so it doesn't matter to you," you said teasingly.

"....Right! That's right!"

You rolled your eyes and glanced at the clock on the wall to check the time. It was already ten o'clock, but it felt like you two had just sat down. "Inasa it's getting pretty late."

"Yeah, I guess it is..."

If it was up to you, you would have gladly stayed up with him all night but you had to go to work tomorrow so that probably wasn't a smart idea no matter how appealing it seemed. "Well, let's just trade numbers then! That way we won't have to say goodbye just yet...how's that sound?"

He smiled at you, his dark eyes glinting in the small amount of light that filtered through the living room window. "Sounds great to me y/n. Thank you for being so kind." Inasa said, his voice quieter than usual and you could feel yourself start to blush.

"Thank you for being a great hero!" you said, writing your phone number down and handing the small piece of paper to him. He took it gingerly as if he was afraid he would rip it.

"Kind and beautiful people like you make it all worth it!" he said, bowing his head down at you, and you chuckled.

"Ha, well everyone looks beautiful in the dark--"

As if on cue, all of the lights turned on in your apartment and your eyes struggled to adjust to the sudden light. You gazed at Inasa, admiring how he looked in the light.

"Hmm, nah. You're still beautiful in the light y/n!" Inasa stated, and you quickly broke eye contact with him out of shyness. "I'll call ya later y/n. See ya soon!" he said, as he walked over to the door and exited your home.

"B-Bye Inasa. See ya later."
