Oof my first request since opening them! For this request, the reader will be Bakugou's sister but unlike Bakugou she's quiet and shy (like their dad). For this oneshot, the reader's quirk will be like Bakugou's except the explosions will be smaller and more controlled. Enjoy!

Your brother Bakugou was well known around U.A. High for good or bad, you still were not sure. In the eyes of his classmates, he was one of the strongest students there. But in your opinion, he was a real jerk. Especially when he would hog up space on the good chair at the house, or always yell first thing in the morning, or eat all of the ice cream and then leave the empty container in the freezer.

Little things like that made him a frustrating person to share a house with. Plus, since you were way more soft-spoken than him, you were always in his shadow. Even if your quirks were practically the same.

But you were fine with being in his shadow, it was more peaceful that way. At least until a certain golden-haired boy noticed you in Bakugou's shadow. And he made it his mission to pull you out of it.

You and Bakugou walked into the classroom a bit earlier than usual and only a few other students were in the classroom with you two. Surprisingly, Kaminari was here too. He usually cut it close when it came to being on time. His bright yellow eyes trained themselves on you immediately after you walked in, but you tried to ignore him.

He was always so loud and bright, it made your eyes hurt. Plus he was a notorious flirt.

You put your stuff under your desk and sat down when Kaminari suddenly made a quick beeline for your desk. "Hey y/n! How's it hanging?" He asked, leaning on your desk like he was trying to seem cooler than he actually was.

"It's...hanging fine?" You replied. You could almost feel the awkwardness in your voice but that did not seem to phase Kaminari at all, in fact, his smile just grew brighter.

"That's great! Hey, I wanted to ask you something...it's something that's been bugging me lately about you. Just answer me honestly though."

You raised an eyebrow, your curiosity was now peaked. "Ok. What is it?"

He leaned closer to you like he was afraid of your classmates (and brother) overhearing him. "Wanna go out with me, maybe grab a bite to eat or something? I'd like to know more about you y/n." Your eyes widened in surprise and your mouth fell open. This couldn't possibly be happening. Kaminari noticed your surprised expression and he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled nervously.  "N-Not in a creepy way... I'm just curious I mean I don't know if you feel the same way."

There was a moment when you almost felt your brain short circuit because you were so unsure of what to do in this situation. People rarely sought you out to be friends much less to be their girlfriend. But maybe you were overthinking this.

"Um, sure. I-I'd like to go out to eat, i-it sounds fun. But I'm pretty boring so...I don't know why y-you would want to know more about me. A-Are you sure you don't just wanna hang out with Katsuki?"

Kaminari's smile faltered and his eyes narrowed. "No, I don't. I want to spend time with you, only you y/n. Besides, I don't believe that you're boring as you say. So...wanna go out today? What do you like?"

You paused. "I like hamburgers..."

"Great!" He said loudly enough for Bakugou and the others to look your way. Luckily he didn't seem to care and he just beamed down at you. You thought that his smile was brighter than the sun itself and you wondered if you should look away or risk going blind.

You decided to risk it and look at him with a smile of your own.

"Let's go home y/n I'm fucking tired," Bakugou said, glaring down at you with his bright crimson eyes as you put your stuff in your backpack. "Or were you going somewhere with a certain shitty person?" He asked you. His every word sounded so pointed and strained.

You sighed and willed yourself to be patient with your brother this time. You stood up and glared right back at him, almost daring him to talk back to you. "I was going to go somewhere actually, so you should just go home without me. And he's not a shitty person, he's...pretty cool actually."

Bakugou was silent for a moment before speaking up. "Fine then but if something happens, and I mean anything that you don't fucking like, you fucking call me ok?" Now you were completely taken aback. This was so strange for him. He usually never cared what the hell you did, so why was he getting protective all of a sudden?

Whatever the reason was, you were a bit touched. "Don't worry I will..."

"I'm not fucking worried, I'm just doin' my job as a brother or else mom will kill me! So you are missing dinner then? It's my turn tonight."

Oh, thank god, his food is always way too spicy!  But at the same time, it's bland!

"Uh, yeah probably. Don't wait up for me." You said, with a dismissive wave of your hand. Bakugou scowled and walked away from you with his hands in his pockets like he was a delinquent. You found yourself smiling at him, glad that he was watching your back as you traveled these unknown waters.

Kaminari's voice pulled you from your thoughts. "Y/n, you ready to go?" He asked, a sweet smile on his face.

"Yeah, let's go."

Kaminari led the way out of school and you two made small talk on your way to the hamburger place he knew. He claimed it was the best in the city, but you were going to be the judge of that. There was a comfortable quiet between you both when you walked through the crowded city streets, and you found yourself starting to study Kaminari.

He had a nice jawline that you never really noticed before, and his eyes were so bright in the sunshine. Also, he was usually smiling even when there was nothing to smile at and his fluffy yellow hair looked even softer up close. Then there was that cool lightning bolt-looking streak in his hair, you wondered if it was dyed or natural.

His eyes flitted over his shoulder and he laughed. "Caught ya' staring y/n! You alright?"

You cleared your throat and grinned. "Y-Yeah I'm fine I was just wondering...is that black streak in your hair natural or dyed?"

He winked. "I was born with it." He replied and you nodded, mentally noting that information. "H-Hey y/n it's pretty crowded."

"Yeah..."

"Take my hand, I don't want to lose you." He said, looking off to the side as he offered you his hand. You gulped and rubbed your hands against the side on your skirt before holding his hand.

Silence again. Then you spoke up. "N-Now we'll really look like a couple huh?" You said, a bit jokingly.

Kaminari gazed at you and turned his head to the side like he was confused. "Is there a problem with that?"

Now you felt like your entire body was suddenly set on fire and you were at a loss for words. Kaminari seemed to sense how flustered he made you and he gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. "It's alright, I'm only teasing. But if you want to be a couple...hey I'm not going to say no." He told you with a smile.

"I-I don't know...let's see how this date goes...ah I mean not to be rude but I just don't want to rush into things and hurt you. That's the absolute last thing I want to do!"

"Wow, I think that's the loudest I've heard you talk but don't worry about a thing! You won't hurt me y/n, I'm invincible!" He shouted. He pounded his fist on his chest like he was a gorilla and you laughed out loud at his goofiness.

You two reached the burger place, it looked just like an American diner with red and white tiles on the floor, silver bar stools with a long counter for people to eat at, and an old-fashioned jukebox in the corner. "How cool..." You said.

"I know right! It's a funky little place, it makes me feel like I'm in a rock and roll video or something." Kaminari said, his eyes looking over the menu that was hanging at the front. "What are you gonna get?"

"Mm, maybe the cheeseburger? What about you?"

"I'll just get that too."

Both of you ordered and got your food within minutes, but you and Kaminari got into a little debate on who should pay. He offered first but you insisted that he didn't have to and he insisted that he should pay.

"Don't worry about y/n, it won't break the bank." He said, giving the cashier the money before you could protest any more. He went and put the food down on the counter, so you sat down in a bar stool and pouted. "I didn't know you were so sweet y/n you're so worried about me huh?"

"I-I'm not worried about you I was j-just...I just didn't want to take advantage." You replied, ducking your head down so you didn't have to make eye contact with the boy.

"Aww. That is really sweet." He said, his hand going to your shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. Your heart nearly leaped out of your chest and you stood frozen in place. "A-Ah, I uh...sorry." Kaminari began to say but you placed your hand over his, keeping it in place.

"It's fine Kaminari, you're sweet too...so I think I-I've already decided about what to do."

"Oh y-yeah?" Kaminari stammered. You nodded and gave him a wide smile.

"I think I want to try this...couple thing. I-If you're still interested?"

"Of course!" He exclaimed, reaching over and grasping both of your hands in his. His hands were warm and they felt like they belonged in yours, it was like you had found a missing piece of you. "I hope Mr. Explodey won't beat me up about this though."

You laughed, even though what you were going to say was completely serious. "I'll beat the shit out of him if he hurts you Kaminari. I promise."

"W-Wow...you two really are related!"

When you got home after dinner you were in desperate need of a shower. Who knew that after first dates you could be so smelly. When you walked down the hallway to your room you heard your brother's loud voice come from his own room.

"Guess it wasn't shitty since you didn't call."

You smiled and stopped in your steps for a moment. "Yeah...it was really nice actually. Not shitty at all."

"....Good."
