Soulmates (TodoBakuDeku)
•Pride Month Special #4•
When you turn seventeen, the name(s) of your soulmate(s) appears on your wrist.
"Are you excited for your birthday?" Yaoyorozu asked one of her oldest friends. Shoto and her were both sitting in the living room studying and she decided to bring up the special occasion.
Shoto scoffed as he shut the textbook he had been reading from. He knew that Yaoyorozu knew exactly how he felt about his seventeenth birthday, so he didn't know why the girl kept bringing it up. "No." He said simply.
The raven haired girl released a groan and discarded her textbook as well. They were two of the few students downstairs, but everyone else was far enough away so they could have a conversation without being over heard. "You're being ridiculous. Just because the boy you had a crush on ended up as someone else's soulmate, doesn't mean you have to give up on your own." She tutted.
Shoto snapped his gaze to her, his eyes hardening into a piercing glare. "Stop bringing it up, okay? Midoriya isn't why I'm not excited about my birthday." He hissed at her, his voice significantly quieter. He was slightly paranoid someone would overhear.
"Sure, Todoroki, sure. You can keep telling yourself that, but you completely shut down after Midoriya's seventeenth and Bakugou's name showed up." Yaoyorozu said, holding her hands up in surrender as she spoke.
After she spoke, Yaoyorozu was almost worried he would storm off from the way his glare became even more intense. Instead, Shoto just dropped his head into his hands and took a deep breath. "Okay, so I was a little upset that it wasn't my name, but it's still not why I'm not excited." He mumbled.
"Is it because if it's not Midoriya's name, it just doesn't seem worth it?" She asked him softly.
Shoto just stayed quiet.

"Kacchan, are we really going to wait for tonight? Why can't we just tell him now?" Izuku whined as he laid on his boyfriends bed.
Unknown to everyone but the two soulmates, when they both turned seventeen, two names appeared on their wrists. Each other's and Shoto's.
Katsuki shook his head at his impatient soulmate as he changed his shirt, having just gotten back from training with Kirishima. "You agreed to this, Izu. If you don't stick it out fully, then what was the point in the first place? It'd just piss him off more than he probably already will be." He pointed out.
Katsuki hadn't told Izuku they were soulmates. He had waited for the other boy to turn seventeen and get his names. After their rough past, he didn't want to appear to be rushing the other boy and wanted him to decide to be with him on his own time. Waiting until Izuku was seventeen and had more time to figure out what he wanted to from life and his potential soulmate just seemed like the best way.
After Izuku got his names and talked it out with Katsuki, they both decided that they were going to wait until Shoto turned seventeen. Izuku, knowing about Shoto's childhood and how against soulmates Endeavor is, thought that it would truly be the best course of action for the three of them.
"I know, I know, but I just...." Izuku trailed off, unsure of what words to use to explain his feelings on the subject.
"I know, but we just have to wait a few more hours." Katsuki said, flopping down onto his bed besides the green haired boy.

Shoto sat on the counter in the kitchen, Yaoyorozu at his side as the clock ticked closer and closer to midnight. Per his request, the class had not thrown a big party, so it was just the two of them.
"Do you think you'll know them or will it be someone you haven't met yet?" The vice president asked, eager to find out who her friend's soulmate will be.
"I don't know." Shoto mumbled, staring at the place on his wrist where the name was supposed to appear in a few moments.
Suddenly Yaoyorozu reached into her shirt as the inside lit up, indicating she was using her quirk. "C'mon, you can't look at it until it actually hits midnight. Use this to cover it up, make it more suspenseful." She said in a sort of teasing manner as she handed Shoto a piece of cloth to tie around his wrist.
"Fine." He said with a sigh, doing what she had asked. It was easier than arguing with her.
Soon enough, the clock hit midnight and Shoto's breath hitched.
Before he could take off the cloth, two people walked into the kitchen, one smiling rather sheepishly.
"What're you two doing awake?" Yaoyorozu asked in mild surprise.
"We were waiting for Todoroki's birthday." Izuku explained, pulling Katsuki over to the other two students. "Happy birthday." He said, albeit awkwardly.
"Oh, um, thanks." Shoto said back, not any better.
That's when Izuku noticed the covering. "You haven't looked yet?" He asked, his eyebrows raised in question and shock.
"No, Yaoyorozu said I should wait until midnight to see." He said casually, trying to calm his heartbeat that was rapidly increasing.
"It's more fun this way, okay?" The tall girl defended with a pout.
"Just look at your damn wrist, icyhot. Izuku's been having a spazz attack all day." Katsuki said with an eye roll as he set his chin on top of his smaller boyfriend's head. He couldn't see, but he knew Izuku was pouting at his words.
"Why would he?..." Shoto trailed off, confused by the blond's words.
Izuku sent him a reassuring smile, nodding to his covered wrist. "Just look at your wrist Todoroki." He instructed.
Shoto looked hesitant about complying. He didn't know if he wanted the other two to be there when he found out who his soulmate was. He had been so hopeful to be the name on Izuku's wrist, just to find out it was Katsuki instead... He didn't know if he could handle them both being there.
"Jesus Christ, just fucking look already." Katsuki groaned, being able to feel Izuku shaking in his arms in anticipation and anxiety.
Shoto sent him a quick glare for being so pushy, before slowly removing the fabric.
Izuku and Katsuki where able to see the exact moment when Shoto read the names.
Izuku Midoriya
Katsuki Bakugou
"This... this can't be right..." Shoto whispered in slight awe as he traced his fingers lightly over the two names.
"It is." Izuku said with a smile as he pulled up his sleeve to show the dual haired boy his own names.
Shoto Todoroki
Katsuki Bakugou
"Yeah. Sorry, I guess, for keeping it from you for so long." Katsuki mumbled, raising his own sleeve to show off his own names.
Izuku Midoriya
Shoto Todoroki
"Well, I'm just going to take this as my cue to leave. Happy Birthday, Todoroki." Yaoyorozu said, pushing herself off the counter and out of the kitchen.
"You... you both knew about this... Why didn't you tell me?" Shoto asked, obviously feeling hurt by their actions. Katsuki would have known for nearly a year and didn't say anything, Izuku only a few months less than that.
Izuku was quick to leap forwards and try to defuse the situation. "No, Todo please don't be mad at us! Kacchan didn't tell me, he wanted to wait for us to turn seventeen and see for ourselves. With our past, it was understandable and we both decided to wait for you because we know how your dad is and we didn't want to rush you into anything that you weren't ready for. Even now, we totally understand if you are mad and don't want to be with us. We'll obviously be really, really sad, but we understand and it's your decision to make. We just-"
Thankfully, Katsuki cut him off before he could keep rambling on. "Deep breaths, we don't need you passing out on us, nerd." He softly scolded, wrapping one arm around Izuku's waist in an attempt to comfort him.
Katsuki and Izuku both waited for Shoto to speak up. Izuku had basically rambled out everything the two of them had needed to say and now it was just up to the half and half teen.
Shoto seemed to be contemplating his next words carefully. It took him a few moments, but eventually he spoke again. "I'm... mad," he started and Izuku instantly flinched at his words, grabbing hold of the bottom of Katsuki's shirt.
"-but that doesn't mean I don't want to be with you."
You could practically feel how relieved Izuku and Katsuki were at those words. Izuku was beaming wider than either of them could remember ever seeing and Katsuki was even smiling slightly.
"Really?" Izuku asked with wide doe eyes.
Shoto nearly wanted to chuckle at how excited he looked. Instead he settled for an amused smile. "Yeah, really. I... kind of get why you two waited, although I would have rather had you both just tell me." He stated, pursing his lips slightly in distaste.
"Yeah, yeah, blame me for that. I'm the one who dragged him into agreeing." Katsuki admitted begrudgingly.
"I suspected that already." Shoto said with an unsurprised nod.
Katsuki just made a 'tch' sound and looked away.
Izuku decided to get the conversation back on track. "So you really want to give this," he motioned between all three of them. "A try?"
Shoto looked over both of them before looking down with a small smile. "Yeah, as long as you two don't mind."
"Fucking half and half, of course we don't or we wouldn't be standing here." Katsuki said, lightly flicking the other boy's forehead, making him look up in mild shock.
Izuku didn't say anything, not having the words to express how happy he was. He opted out for just pulling Shoto into a tight hug and burying his head into his chest.
The three of them ended up hanging out in the kitchen for another half hour, just talking and getting to know each other better. Shoto and Izuku were already friends, Katsuki being dragged into it slightly because he had been dating the shorter boy, but they had never really had deep conversations that were meant for soulmates.
After a little while, something clicked in Shoto's head. A question he was finally going to get an answer to.
"So, if you're not All Might's secret love child, what's the connection?"
